Kyle's POV
"He's here!" I exclaimed happily as I gently hit Larson's arm.
"He's not here yet, Kyle. He just crossed the border," he answered lazily.
"That's practically the same thing," I replied, then quickly went downstairs with him following behind.
As I stepped out of the pack house, my father and mother were standing with a few warriors facing the border.
"Why are you guys here?" I asked seriously as I moved closer to them.
"Because they are the leaders of this pack. That soon-to-be Alpha may be your friend, but he is still visiting your father's pack. So it's only right for them to welcome him," Uncle Neo responded as he came out of the pack house with Aunty Toni.
"Dad, please don't intimidate him in any way," I said softly as he smirked.
"Mother, please don't let him do it on purpose for fun," I pleaded with her, knowing how he would try that.
"Don't worry, Kyle, he will be on his best behavior," she answered softly as I smiled.
"Thank you," I said simply.
When Lui's car came into view, I waited nervously for him to park.
"Larson, don't mess up no matter what," I whispered, then quickly rushed ahead when he parked a few meters away from us.
He stepped out and walked towards me, meeting me halfway.
I smiled widely and then hugged him with laughter.
"Welcome to my pack, brother," I said cheerfully and then pulled back as he smiled.
"I can tell how bored you were without me by your side, you bastard," he answered playfully, then patted my shoulder.
"Cut it out, you virgin, it's too early for such insults," I said seriously, then frowned when I heard a heavy sigh come from the car.
"Are you forgetting the people you came with?" I asked seriously.
"No way. Come on, you need to meet them," he answered simply.
I was about to move when the back door opened.
The first thing I picked up was a familiar scent. This scent was one I knew very well because it meant so much to me. But then there was another powerful scent that made my wolf stir and caused my knees to be weak. My mouth watered, and my heart was beating rapidly.
"How long will you say your greetings, Lui?" A soft female voice asked.
"You can always come out, Moran, you have legs," he answered seriously as I looked at him coldly.
I hated his response to whoever that person was.
"What?" He asked seriously when he noticed my gaze.
"What's your problem, brother? I avoided you the whole way since that...," she cut her sentence short when she stepped out of the car and looked at me.
I took in a sharp breath and forgot how to breathe for a second.
I was in a trance even when I breathed out because I could hear my wolf chant mate, yet I still couldn't let it sink in. She was a vision to behold.
"Hey Yuki, what's wrong?" he asked in concern as I snapped out of my daze.
"Go to our mate," my wolf yelped.
"Of course," I answered happily and then approached her.
"Yuki move, the other door is locked," a familiar voice said as my mate moved. When the lady came out, I froze.
She looked at me and then smiled.
"Hi Kyle, it's been long," she greeted with a smile.
"Tamara," I whispered softly and then quickly ran in front of her, pulling her into my arms.
"Oh my goodness, Tamara," I whispered happily as tears filled my eyes.
It had been so long since I saw her, and each passing year I couldn't help but think about her. I was worried, concerned, and deeply conflicted over where she was, how she was doing, and what she was doing.
When I pulled back, I moved my hands to her cheeks and smiled at her as she chuckled softly with tears blinding her eyes.
"Tamara," I whispered and then looked at her from head to toe, ignoring the lady who had stepped out of the car from the front seat.
"Look at you, all grown up and very beautiful," I said softly, then hugged her again.
"That's enough," Larson's voice came through.
I blinked back the forming tears and pulled back, turning to face him.
He was standing next to Lui, who had a rather shocked expression on his face.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" I asked seriously.
"Kyle, don't you think you are being a little too handsy with her?" He asked seriously as I glared at him.
"So what, Larson? Am I supposed to pretend not to be happy when I feel like I'm on cloud nine right now?" I asked back angrily.
"She has a ....,"
"You have no right to tell him what he should or should not do when it comes to me," Tamara said and then moved, standing beside me. She was glaring at Larson, who had his brows raised in surprise at her response.
"That's my girl," the words just rolled out of my mouth without a thought.
"What?" Lui asked with a petrified look on his face.
"She's not your girl, she's my Tamara," he spat as I widened my eyes when it came crashing in my mind how she was the girl he had loved all along.
"What the fuck are you two even talking about? She is my fucking mate!" Larson exclaimed as Lui's jaw dropped in shock.
"Fuck," I muttered in a low tone.
"Just so you know, Yuki and I are still here!" The lady who had stepped out from the front seat yelled. Her eyes were a bright red, and her chest was rising and falling. No matter how I looked at it, she was a hybrid because I could tell she was a vampire and at the same time sense her wolf.
"You are all jerks!" My mate screamed at the top of her voice, getting my attention.
She had tears running down her pretty cheeks, and her body was slightly trembling.
"Hey, I..."
"Don't talk to me, you bastard!" She yelled, cutting me off, and then turned and rushed back to the border as I raised my hand and punched my face hard.
"Fuck," I cursed at myself silently while I winced in pain.
Before I could talk to Lui, my wolf took over and shifted. He dashed towards our mate, tracking down her scent.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't in my right mind," I whispered to him, hoping he could understand that it wasn't my intention to hurt our mate.
"Those are the words you will say to her when we find her," came his cold response.
How could I mess up so badly? And how was it possible that Lui and I were both in love with the same girl?
This was bad, it was absolutely the worst.
"He's here!" I exclaimed happily as I gently hit Larson's arm.
