Ian's POV
What the actual fuck was happening right in front of us?
"Was that she-wolf Kyle's mate?" Amelia asked through our mind-link.
I raised a brow and then looked at her seriously.
There was a huge chance that was true because Kyle was usually composed and he rarely acted up.
"Kids these days," Neo whispered as he walked towards Lui and Larson.
"I think I have no time for such nonsense," I muttered and then turned to leave when Amelia grabbed my hand.
"We still have to welcome Lui and the others," she said softly as I chuckled.
"Do I look happy to entertain those little pups?" I asked seriously then forced a smile on my face when she glared at me.
"Fine, we will welcome them," I forced out the words and then turned and walked to where they were.
Neo was supposed to control the situation, yet he was standing there just looking at them. Was he confused or drawn into the bullshit drama?
"Tamara, go and greet Amelia and the rest of the warriors standing on that side. Your little drama is such a pain to watch, and I'm sure they too feel that way. As for you, Larson, get your ass over where Kyle is. He is your Alpha, so he comes first before anyone. As for you, Lui, can't you see how that she-wolf over there looks terrified? It would be wise to have a little chat with her. Now!" I ordered.
"Yes, uncle," Tamara answered and then walked past me.
Larson gave a bow and then shifted into his wolf and dashed to where Kyle had gone.
Lui frowned deeply for a second but went to the she-wolf, who quickly turned and gave him her back. It's as if they were lovers.
"Really, brother?" I asked Neo seriously.
I was disappointed with him for not controlling the situation.
"I'm sorry, I was just surprised, that's all," he answered.
"Just get your act together," I said and then turned and walked back to where Amelia was.
She looked very happy talking to Tamara.
"So you were at Sherry's all this time?" she asked loudly, pretending not to know when she did know the truth.
She obviously wanted to lessen the heavy atmosphere that was around us.
When Tamara left, Felix was very upset, and she seemed to be sad and grumpy, so I invited her for a drink. It was supposed to be a fun night, but she couldn't control her emotions. She broke down telling me how she had sent her daughter to Sherry's pack because Sherry was the only one who would understand what she was going through. The information I was told was supposed to be private, but that didn't mean from my own mate. That's why I told Amelia the truth. Since then, Amelia did her best to call her here and there to check up on her.
"Yes, Aunty Amelia. I am so sorry for not letting Mom or Dad tell you guys about this," she answered softly.
"Don't worry, child, we do understand," Toni said, making her chuckle.
"Well, I am just so happy that you are safe. Let's go in and have a drink. I want to catch up and hear everything you have to share about your experience in that pack," Amelia said and then glanced at me.
"You stay back and welcome the young Alpha," she mind-linked me as I frowned deeply.
Did I look like I was running a damn charity?
"I'll let you do whatever you want if you are good to that boy," she said, still using our mind link.
"No take backs," I responded with a smirk.
"Warriors, you can return to your respective places. Your Alpha will handle everything," she announced as they all bared their necks and then went back to the training field.
"Toni, shall we?" Amelia asked while she grabbed Tamara's hand.
"Yeah, sure," Toni answered.
I watched as they walked into the pack house with a smile.
"Brother, I'm also going back to the training field," Neo said as he walked past me.
"Sure, but after you make a call to Felix," I said as he stopped in his tracks.
"Doesn't she already know?" he asked as I chuckled softly.
Did he not remember how Felix acted when it came to her kid?
"If she did, she would have been here yesterday to welcome her. Have you forgotten how that child was pampered by her?" I asked simply.
"Well, she and Chase both did. And you are right, if she did know, she would have been here with the whole family," he answered.
"I think you better let everyone know. The twins, August, and Whitney too will be here, I can bet my everything on that," I said calmly.
"Then I'll go and make a call," he answered, then turned and walked into the pack house.
I turned and looked at Lui, who was raising his arms as if trying to make a point.
I sighed heavily and walked to where they were. Before I could even reach where he was, I could hear their conversation clearly.
"I'm telling you the truth, I didn't mean it when I said that. It was just a mistake, please do believe me," he pleaded.
"You don't love me or like me at all, that I know. But was I so stupid when I thought you would respect me as your mate?" she asked in a cracked voice.
I could smell the scent of tears and hear her pain in her words. She kind of reminded me of Amelia when we first met. She wanted to be with me and did her best to show me how true she was. Yet I was messed up, and I almost messed everything up by being a cold-hearted bastard and not giving her the respect and love that she needed.
I wanted to tell them to end their conversation and come into the pack house, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
"Let them be," Axel said to me.
I sighed softly and then turned back and began walking to the pack house.
Neo was right; it was hard to understand pups nowadays.
It was obvious from their conversation how they both liked the same she-wolf. Was it because she was a born vampire and a half fairy? Did she have enchanting powers?
I hated to show it, but I too was shocked over Kyle's actions. I had no idea he felt something for Tamara because there was never a day he showed it openly. I was sure Felix and Chase, too, had no idea.
Perhaps Amelia had an idea, but she wasn't sure enough to tell me or confront him.
The last thing I didn't want to happen was for the young Alphas to hate each other. At least a connection between our pack and Damon's was bound to happen if Kyle was mated to his daughter. But then again, an alliance would not happen. It was also going to hurt Kyle to lose his so-called best friend. That's why I needed them to make up.
Damn it, those brats were slowly getting to me with their stupid actions.
