Tamara's POV
I walked around with a scarf covering my neck. After what he did to me, I was left stunned and at a loss for words, so I ran to my room and got a scarf to cover a few hickeys that were showing.
When I walked out of the pack house, I was very nervous because it was sunny, yet I was wearing a scarf.
"What an asshole," I said in a low tone and then glanced behind me to see Larson walking further away with a smirk.
Why was he even following me when he was the one who acted as if it was a bother to be seen with me?
I stopped walking and turned to look at him.
"Why are you following me?" I asked seriously as he moved closer.
When he stood in front of me, I held my breath for a second.
"I'll be damned if I let any male be around you," he answered, and I frowned angrily.
"See, this is very confusing. Did I not ask you to give me a tour of the pack, and you refused?" I asked.
"I didn't refuse; I was just suspicious of your change of heart," he answered simply.
"Fine, so why are you following me now?" I asked while he chuckled softly.
"Did I not tell you how damned I'd be if someone else was beside you beside me?" he asked when I folded my arms.
"Did anyone tell you how selfish you are?" I asked back.
"I don't care what anyone says if they aren't my family, mate, or Alpha," he answered and then grabbed the scarf, pulling it from my neck.
"Hey!" I exclaimed loudly and then tried to get it back when he raised his hand with a smile.
"Let's see how high you can jump?" he whispered as I glared at him.
"It's not funny," I answered.
"I know, that's why I am not laughing," he said.
I rolled my eyes and then jumped lazily to grab it.
"Come on, you are a hybrid. Is this the best you can do?" he asked.
Did he not realize that what I was was what made me dangerous? If I wanted to seriously try to get the scarf back from him, I would use force.
"How about you use magic?" he asked and then smirked.
"Are you mocking me?" I asked back.
"No," he answered quickly.
"Then you do know that magic is something you have to practice, with a guardian by your side. I may have magic, but I don't know how to use it. All the abilities I have are clearly because I am a vampire, and I trained a lot to better myself, thanks to someone who mocked me in the past," I said as his smirk vanished.
He lowered his hand and handed it to me.
"Thank you. Now, if you don't mind, please go back; I'm okay on my own," I said when I got the scarf from him.
"Sure," he answered.
I turned and began to walk when I heard light footsteps following me.
I furiously turned and looked at him.
"Did I not ask you to please leave me alone?" I asked loudly.
"You clearly did, but just because I'm using the same road as you, it doesn't mean I am following you," he answered.
"Fine, then you go on," I said, and then began going the other way when he turned too and began following behind.
"Damn it, Larson, what's your problem?" I asked in nearly a scream when I turned to face him.
He had a stunned expression on his face.
"Will you claim that you have changed your mind and are now going back to the pack house? Is that why you are using this way too?" I asked, but was surprised when he moved and embraced me without a word.
I stood still, not knowing what to do.
Was he okay? Did my yelling make him lose his mind? Anyone in their right mind would run or walk away after being yelled at.
"Thank you," he whispered, confusing me.
I wanted to yell, but I found myself softening my voice.
"For what?" I asked.
"For calling my name. I know you have been avoiding my name like the plague; that's why you rarely use it," he answered, and I felt guilty.
He was right because I was really avoiding his name. I heard names had the power to give and take. What if I got attached to him by calling out his name? What if I became so dependent on him that he ended up taking my heart? What would happen then? I could end up losing the motivation to get revenge.
Wait, my revenge!
What have I been doing? I wasn't supposed to be cold to him at all. My plan was to make him fall in love with me and then dump him so he could have a taste of his own medicine.
I took a deep breath and then embraced him back.
"Why are you holding me so tightly? It's just a name that I called, you know," I teased.
"Well, why are you holding me back then?" he asked.
"Damn you," I whispered and then tried to pull back, but he couldn't budge.
I looked him in the eyes and then tried to break free again, but he wasn't letting me.
"You know, I am willing to bet that you aren't using your full strength right now," he said as I kept quiet because he was right again. For some reason, I wasn't using my full strength to pull back from him.
"You want to be in my arms as much as I want you there, don't you?" he asked.
"Keep lying to yourself, Larson," I answered, then tensed when he leaned in.
My brain was telling me to push him away and play hard to get, but my body and heart wanted to just go with the flow.
With a rapidly beating heart, I closed my eyes instantly as his lips touched mine.
A shiver spread throughout my body as I responded and opened my mouth to feel his tongue against mine.
All my reasons and the need to resist were thrown out of the window, and all I wanted to do was just be with him at this moment without fighting or thinking of what to do to make him fall hard for me.
