Yuki's POV
"Seriously, put me down," I said in a low tone.
"No," came his response.
I kept quiet, trying to think of how to ask him in a very nice way and make him oblige.
Truth be told, I was a little scared of him. That time he got very upset with me, he spoke to me not as a mate but as an Alpha facing an omega. My wolf and I couldn't do a thing but bare our necks to him in submission and respect. Since then, I have felt only three emotions: fear, anger, and sadness.
I was scared of him liking Tamara because, unlike me, she was not only sexy and strong; she was charming and very mature. I was angry at myself for making the Alpha in him look down on us as childish. I was also sad because all that time I was with his pack, I could have made him love me crazily, not hate me. And sitting on his lap didn't mean that he had forgotten what went on that side.
"You want me, right? But you don't need me," I said sadly and then faced him.
He sighed softly and then moved his hand to my head, brushing my hair back gently.
"I need and want you," he answered softly.
"Are you saying this to make me feel better?" I asked sadly.
"No, not at all," he answered and then smiled.
"To be honest, there was a time I would have been over the moon hearing Tamara say all that to me. I would have actually worked hard to make her reject Larson so I could take over his place. But when I met you, I wanted to know more about you, and I genuinely liked you. I don't mind that you are a little childish because that's your charm, and you throwing tantrums is cute," he said as I glared at him.
"Are you picking a fight with me?" I asked.
"Barely," he answered and then dropped his hand.
"I wanted to win you over as an Alpha, but that was total bullshit because look at us now. That's when it clicked. Perhaps I needed to do some things differently, and if I wanted to win your heart over, I was supposed to court you the right way, as humans do," he said, confusing me.
"What I'm trying to say is that I'm here to take you out on a date and spend some time with you for a few days," he said.
"You aren't going back today?" I asked, surprised at his words.
"Is that the only thing you have heard?" he asked back.
I had heard him loud and clear, and I was a little embarrassed by his direct confession.
"Yuki, I like you a lot, and I want to give our relationship a try. Let's enjoy each other's company and give us a chance. No Tamara and no Larson drama. What do you say?" he asked.
"Let me check if I have a decent dress to wear for our date," I answered happily.
I wasn't going to act up like I did at his pack. I really wanted to be with him; that's all that mattered to me because I was scared of doing something that would make him walk away without looking back.
"Were you expecting me to come here?" he asked from nowhere.
Honestly, I never thought he would come; that's why I was hoping to give him time to stop being angry with me. Then I would call or visit him.
"No, I wasn't," I answered seriously.
"Then were you going to let our relationship die before it even started?" he asked.
"No, absolutely not. I wanted to wait for you to stop being angry with me; then I was going to call or come visit your pack," I answered loudly.
He smiled and then pressed his hand on my cheek.
"I'm happy to hear that," he whispered and then leaned in.
My heart beat rapidly the closer he got. I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to be pressed against mine. When he did, my wolf purred happily, and I responded to his kiss by parting my lips and pressing my tongue against his.
"Lui," my father called from the door.
I quickly pulled back from the kiss, and I was about to stand up when Kyle pulled me down and shook his head.
"Sherry has prepared something nice in the dining room; don't make her wait long," he said.
When we heard him walk away, I sighed in relief.
"We have to go to the dining room. My mother doesn't like to wait, and you are supposed to greet her," I said softly.
He nodded and then hugged me tightly, resting his head against my shoulder.
"You don't know how much I missed you. I was so pissed when you left that I let Lionel take over and beat Larson up," he said, shocking me.
I knew he was going to be upset, but I never thought about Larson. I thought he was going to be upset with me for leaving without a word. Not only that, I was very happy to finally learn what his wolf's name was.
"I'm just grateful and happy to have you in my arms," he said.
"Let me go then," I whispered softly.
"I already said no," he answered.
"I just want to hug you too because I missed you as well," I said.
He immediately dropped his hands.
I smiled and then hugged him as he hugged me back.
"Let's go and see what my mother has prepared. While you chat with her, I'll go and dress up for our date," I said.
"I'm in no rush, so you should take your time. To tell you the truth, I will talk Lui into giving me something nice to wear," he said.
I pulled back and faced him seriously.
"You weren't planning on staying a few days, were you?" I asked.
"No, because I thought you would tell me to leave or reject me. To be honest, I thought you wouldn't even come outside to see my face. I was planning on dragging you to our pack after your father and mother's approval," he said, making me laugh.
I knew he wasn't joking, but then there was no way my mother or father would approve of that, unless I wanted to.
I moved and kissed his lips lightly. Just knowing he was going to try and have me back in his own way made me so happy.
