Kyle's POV
Ordain and Philippe were gone for half an hour, and it was all thanks to them that I could laugh and talk with my mate freely.
I found out that she was a huge fan of horror movies and that she really enjoyed art. I also told her a few of my hobbies, and we even liked a few of the same movies.
After dressing up, we sat close to the bonfire and spent the passing minutes looking at the stars.
"That star looks like a unicorn," she whispered and then rested her head against my shoulder.
"It sure does," I responded and then wrapped my arm around her.
If someone had told me how amazing a date with a few words was, I could have laughed in their face and called them funny. Now that I was really experiencing it, it felt magical.
Yes, there were some hardships, like how to get rid of my erection without jerking off and how I had to hold myself back whenever I felt like tuning her and kissing her crazily, but it still felt great and pleasant.
Besides that, I also had to hold back my wolf, who was really looking forward to mating with our mate at any given time. It wasn't the right time for that; at least, that's how I felt. So no matter what, I wasn't going to make a move on her.
"Did those two deliberately ditch us?" she asked softly.
"I think so, but you know what? I don't mind at all," I said softly and then smiled when she shifted to look at me.
"It's funny of them to do that, but I don't mind either," she whispered.
I leaned in and kissed her lips lightly, then pulled back, pulling her into my arms and hugging her.
"Let's just build our own house here and never go back," I said in a low tone, then frowned when I picked up a familiar scent I knew all too well.
"Are you insane?" Lui's voice came from behind.
I quickly pulled back and turned to look at him. He was standing a few meters away from us, looking very furious. His arms were crossed, and his chest was slowly rising and falling.
I quickly got to my feet and gave Yuki my hand, which she took to stand up as well.
"Lui," I called softly.
"You must be a really insane asshole," he spat loudly.
I opened my mouth to say something when he let out a low growl.
"Save your words for my parents, who are waiting for you, Kyle," he said seriously.
"Waiting for him? Do you mean at the pack?" Yuki asked loudly. She sounded a little panicked.
He glared at her and then turned without a word, beginning to walk back.
"Lui! Hey!" she called at the top of her voice, but he continued to walk without looking back.
"Do you think he came with your parents here?" I asked her seriously.
"I doubt it; it's not like my father and mother to leave the pack just to come and look for me," she answered simply.
"Yuki, you have never spent a night out without them knowing, have you? Do you even realize that we have been here while they had no idea what had happened to us? I'm pretty sure any parent in their right mind would leave their home in fear and worry just to look for their child or pup if they had no idea where they were," I said seriously.
"I know that; it's just that I don't think they would come here," she answered in a low tone.
I grabbed her hand and moved it to my lips, kissing it.
"We need to go and talk to Lui, even if he came here alone. I'm sure he, too, was very worried and concerned about us," I said after I lowered her hand.
"Okay," she answered in a whisper.
"We can always come back here for a day or two," I said softly as we began to walk back hand in hand.
"Yes, and this time I would be prepared," she replied.
"Really? How?" I asked softly.
"I would have some pack members or Lui bring a mattress with some clean sheets here. Also, I would pack some clothes and undergarments for us. I would also buy some gifts for June, you know, something cute, as she is. Oh, and this time I would make sure that our car would have no problems,"she answered, making me smile.
"You love children, don't you?" I asked without thinking much about my question.
She blushed and then lowered her gaze to the ground.
"Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. You see, I know that one day we would mate, but I wasn't saying that..."
"Kyle, it's okay. I understand what you meant," she answered softly as she looked at me.
"That's a relief," I whispered.
"I love children and pups a lot. That's why when you take over your pack and we mate, I will patiently wait for a pup to grow in my womb," she said.
She really had a way of sounding so naive and innocent at the same time that made me very happy.
The way she acted was different too; it's like she knew something and, at the same time, had no idea.
A part of me knew she was going to be a great mom, but then there was this other part of me that was concerned and doubtful about whether she would handle our pups well.
"Have faith," Lionel whispered.
"You are right," I answered and then smiled when the cottage came into view.
"We are here," I whispered as we approached it.
When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was that Lui sat on the couch, and right in front of him stood Damon and Sherry, looking so pissed.
Philippe was kneeling beside Ordain, who was carrying June. They both looked terrified, and their gazes were lowered to the floor.
"Mother, father," Yuki called softly.
"Kyle, your car is being fixed by a warrior as we speak. Lui is going to come with it after talking to these two. You and Yuki are going to go with us this instant; we have a lot to talk about at the pack," Sherry said coldly.
"I'm sorry," I whispered, knowing that I was to be blamed.
"He didn't do anything wrong; it was me. I liked this place so much that I asked him to..."
"Silence!" Damon growled, and the whole room went quiet.
I felt uneasy because it was the first time I was seeing him this upset.
"We will go back and talk," I answered.

"We will go back and talk," I answered.
"Good," he said and then walked out of the cottage with Sherry.
"Lui, don't threaten or treat them badly, they aren't at fault," I said to him and then looked at Philippe.
"I'm truly sorry for everything," I whispered and then walked out of the cottage with Yuki.
