Larson's POV
I quickly opened the door before Kyle could knock.
"Oh, hey," he said as I walked around him to see if he was injured in any way.
"I am okay, Larson, so relax," he said once I stood in front of him, concerned.
"Are you truly okay?" I asked in a low tone.
"I am just fine, I promise," he answered.
"I'm glad," I said softly and then smiled.
The whole night, I imagined how Alpha Ian and my father would be disappointed in me if anything happened to him and they found out. I would be the laughing stock of a Beta and the most hated in our pack if something went wrong with Kyle.
I was very scared and worried sick throughout the night. Seeing him in one piece was a relief, and I felt like a heavy burden was lifted from my chest.
"Let's go in," I said and then went to sit on the bed.
He walked in and closed the door behind him.
"Larson, I am so sorry," he apologized seriously.
"I understand, and I overheard your conversation in the living room. It wasn't your fault at all," I answered.
"This will never happen again in the future. No matter what, I will always make sure to inform you wherever I go, so that you can follow me when something goes wrong or comes up," he said.
"I'm just happy that you are safe," I answered sincerely and then relaxed.
"I am not asking this because I'm upset with you in any way. I am asking you this because I just want to know: when are we leaving this pack?" I asked seriously.
He smiled and then shrugged.
"I don't know, but if you want to leave soon, we can," he answered.
"Then if I say I would like us to leave today, would you agree?" I asked.
"Of course I would," he answered as I sighed in relief.
"Just keep in mind that I would return with time because Yuki deserves to be by my side," he said.
"I don't mind you coming back after some time, Kyle; I was asking about now," I answered as I got up and went to the wardrobe, grabbing two packed carrier bags that were there.
"Sherry packed a few things for us as gifts, so shall we start off?" I asked.
"Woah, you were serious?" he asked loudly.
"Weren't you?" I asked back.
"Well, I was, but I didn't expect you to be ready," he answered.
"Well, I am, Kyle. I haven't slept a wink, and I feel so agitated and exhausted. I really want to go home and rest," I said honestly.
He sighed softly and then smiled.
"Okay, let me have a word with Alpha Damon. We will need one of his cars then because mine was left behind," he said and then turned to grab the door handle.
"I am coming with you," I answered.
"It will only take a few minutes," he said.
"I know, but I still want to come with you," I answered.
"Very well, let's go," he said, and then opened the door and walked out as I followed behind.
We followed Alpha Damon's scent, which led us to his office. He sat behind his desk, looking at his laptop.
The door was already open, and he seemed to be ignoring us on purpose because there was no way he didn't know we were there.
"Come in already," he said loudly without looking at us.
Immediately, we walked in. I put the carrier bags down and closed the door behind us.
"Why are you here?" he asked calmly.
"We came to ask for a favor and to say our goodbyes," Kyle answered, and that made him look up.
"You are leaving?" he asked seriously.
"Yes, we are," I answered.
"Don't make it seem as if I kicked you out. Yuki will be pretty upset with me," he said.
"Don't worry about that; I will talk to her before we leave. We have a lot of things to take care of, and we didn't plan on staying long," Kyle answered.
"I see. So what was the favor you wanted to ask?" he asked.
"Um... we were wondering if you could lend us one of your cars that has enough gas," Kyle answered.
He kept quiet for a few seconds and then closed his laptop.
"When will you bring it back if I do give it to you?" he asked.
"Once we settle everything in our pack," Kyle answered.
"Lui will give you the keys; I will mind-link him since he has just arrived," he said.
"Thank you very much," Kyle said, and then turned to walk out when Alpha Damon spoke up.
"You are my daughter's mate. Whether I want it or not, soon you will be the acting Alpha of your pack, just like Lui will be here. I am not sure if the two of you will have an alliance in the future or not. But what I am certain about is that he will still be your good friend because he cares so much about you," he said, and then stood up.
"Kyle," he called softly.
"Yes, Alpha," Kyle responded while he turned to look at him.
"I am happy that you are Yuki's mate. I may not like your father that much, but I do like you and how you are with both my pups. Whenever you choose to visit, just know that my pack's border will always be open to you," he said, making me smile.
"You are also welcome to visit Larson as Kyle's Beta," he said as he looked at me.
"Thank you, Alpha Damon," I answered seriously.
"But never come with both your fathers; I don't like them that much," he said, making me chuckle.
He had a cold expression on his face while saying that.
"With all due respect, Alpha, my father will soon be part of your family when Yuki and I mate and have pups, so I think it's time to forgive and forget about the past," Kyle answered seriously.
He really wasn't intimidated at all, while I was feeling uneasy with how he was looking at us.
"I guess you are right. I did forgive them, but I didn't forget what they did. If you are to have pups, then that would make us all family somehow," he sighed and then sat down.
"Okay," he whispered, then smiled.
"I wish you a safe trip, young Alpha and Beta," he said as I quickly bowed to show respect, then grabbed the carrier bags and walked out with Kyle.
