Kyle's POV
I stood outside, looking at Lui, who was in front of me with an angry expression on his face.
He had the keys in his hand, yet he wasn't saying a word. Larson was right behind me, and he was making it obvious how uncomfortable he was to be here.
"Go ahead," I said, and then closed my eyes.
I had apologized a lot to Sherry before I came outside, and I assured her that I would do better. So if he wanted to hit me for making her or Alpha Damon angry, then I wasn't going to stop him.
"You are so annoying, do you know that?" he asked.
I opened my eyes and raised a brow.
"I get that you needed some time alone with your mate, but you not finding a way to let me know that you weren't going to make it was just annoying," he said loudly and then smirked.
"So how was your time?" he asked, surprising me.
This was the side of him that usually shocked and surprised me. It was unpredictable too.
"Aren't you upset?" I asked in a low tone.
"I was, but not anymore. When Philippe explained everything to me, I kind of understood," he answered, making me smile.
"Lui," I called softly.
"Mm," he answered.
"Do you want to be adopted? I can talk to my parents, and they can adopt you," I said playfully, making him laugh.
"No way, Larson is more than enough to take my brotherly place on that side," he answered.
I turned and looked at Larson seriously.
"Of course, Larson is different and very special to me and my family. But you, Lui, you are my best friend," I said and then looked back at him.
"I hope you were kind to Philippe and his mate," I said.
"I was; after all, they are still a part of my pack," he answered.
"Thank you, and to answer your question from earlier, I had the best time of my life there. You should one day go there with Akira if Philippe chooses not to return to this pack," I said.
"Will that place really make things great between us?" he asked in concern.
"It will, if you truly live in the moment," I answered and then gestured for him to move closer.
When he did, I leaned forward to whisper in his ear.
"When you go to that side, make sure to help Ordain with gathering fruits. The rule there is to have your partner on your shoulders, and if they fall on you, it means you will never be apart. So make sure she falls on you," I said, then stepped back.
"Are you serious?" he asked, with an expression that showed how he didn't believe me.
"Of course I am, and if you share a kiss there, it's believed that you will be blessed with pups immediately after you mate," I answered in a very low tone.
"He won't believe that dumb story," Lionel said.
"Oh, alright. Is there anything else I should know about?" he asked seriously.
"What! He really believed you? Why?" Lionel exclaimed, making me smirk.
Lui was easy to convince at times.
"When you get into the hot spring and watch the fireworks in the middle of the night, the water has the ability to compel your partner and lover to tell you their deepest secrets," I lied.
"We will be going there next week, no matter what," he answered.
"I'm glad," I said, and then looked at the pack's entrance when I picked up Yuki's scent.
When she appeared, she stood there looking at me.
I excused myself and approached her.
"I thought you were sleeping or resting," I said once I was standing in front of her.
"Were you planning on leaving without saying goodbye?" she asked coldly.
I smiled and then grabbed her hands.
"I could never do that," I answered honestly.
"I knew you needed rest; that's why I didn't want to disturb you. But that didn't mean I was going to leave in silence. I was planning on getting the car keys from your brother and then waiting for you to come downstairs," I said.
"What if I decided to come downstairs the next day? What could you have done?" she asked.
"Then I would have asked Sherry to wake you up," I answered.
"I'm glad," she whispered softly.
I dropped her hands and then moved, wrapping my arms around her.
"I promise to come back for you after settling a few things. I won't take long, so always call me whenever you want to talk or when you feel lonely," I said softly, then smiled when she hugged me back.
"I will, but you should also always call whenever you miss me or just want to talk," she answered.
"Of course I will," I said, and then pulled back.
"Will you see me off?" I asked.
"Yes, I will," she answered, and then linked her hand to mine.
We went back to where Lui and Larson were talking and joined them.
"Lui, about my car?" I asked.
"It does have a major problem. We did look at it, but it will need some time to be fixed," he answered, and then extended the car keys to me.
"That's why I'm giving you this one. Dad told me to. The tank is full, and it won't give you any problems," he said.
I got them and looked around. When my eyes went to the Bentley Bacalar, I quickly moved closer with Yuki to have a good look at it.
"Is your father seriously letting me have this?" I asked.
"Yes, so do take care of it," he answered as he approached me with Larson.
"It's pretty nice; it kind of reminds me of my dad's car, the Pagani Utopia Roadster, which he treats like a gem," I said.
“Is that his most expensive car?” he asked as Larson laughed.
“No, his expensive car is the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail,” I answered.
“Are you serious?” he asked loudly.
“Yes, you see, before he settled down, he had a thing for ambushing weak packs and getting all they owned,” I answered simply.
“Well, he sure has similar taste to my dad, whose expensive car is the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. But my dad didn't earn his riches like that. As you know, our pack is like a library where everyone comes for information; some pay very good money for that. He also has a few amazing investments in very well-known companies,” he answered.
“That's impressive,” I said, then unlocked the doors.
Larson wasted no time in putting the carrier bags in the back seat. He really looked desperate to go back home.
"Is this where we say our goodbyes?" Lui asked.
"Yes," I answered, and then pulled my hand away from Yuki and moved to where Lui was.
"I'll see you soon, so take care," I said, then gave him a light hug and pulled back.
"I thank you for your warm welcome and the kind advice you gave me, Alpha Lui. Yuki, I look forward to soon serving you and Kyle at the pack, so always take good care of him," Larson said, then bowed low to show his respect.
I smiled and then moved closer to face Yuki, who had a smile on her face.
"Take good care of yourself," I whispered, then leaned in and kissed her deeply.
When I pulled back, she moved her hand to my cheek.
"I love you," she said softly.
"I love you too," I responded, and then took a step back and turned.
"Please call me when you reach home safely," she said loudly as I grabbed the car's handle.
"I will, I promise," I answered, and then opened it.
I was feeling unpleasant, and I hated the idea of leaving her behind. Sadly, I had to go, and it sucked badly.
