Tanya's POV
I sat frozen with widened eyes. I could see August snapping his fingers in front of my face, but I couldn't blink. The shock I felt was too intense.
He did shift right in front of my eyes.
He did shift into a freaking huge werewolf that reached close to the ceiling! How was that even possible?
Was it a witch's doing? Probably a wizard's doing.
No, witches and wizards were myths!
No, if he was real, then they were real too.
What was it he said?
It was a gift from the moon goddess that they were made that way?
Hell no, it was a curse! She cursed the humans to turn into werewolves!
"Tanya, it isn't as you think. I can tell just by looking at you that you are thinking of something unbelievable," he said.
"How could I not when she cursed the living hell out of you and the others!" I exclaimed.
"Who?" he asked with a raised brow.
"The so-called moon goddess; she cursed you," I said as he gave me a lazy look.
"I am not cursed; I am blessed by her. She is our goddess, a giver of life and our peacemaker who gives second chances to love," he answered.
I stood up and began walking back and forth, thinking back on everything he had explained to me.
"I am not like you; we werewolves are different. Our abilities are by far what you may consider normal. For instance, I can tell what you are talking about from afar because I can hear clearly from a long distance," he said as I looked at him seriously.
"So you were listening to my conversation at the café?" I asked.
"No, I didn't, and that was Ried, not me," he pointed out.
"What else can you do?" I asked.
"A lot of things," he answered.
"Like?" I asked.
"I can sense and know if someone is close by, by their scent," he answered as I quickly moved my arm to my nose, sniffing it.
Did I smell sweaty? I wondered to myself with worry.
"No, it's not what you are thinking; I really do love your scent a lot," he said as I quickly dropped my hand.
"Am I so easy to read?" I asked in a low tone.
"Yes, you are," he answered simply.
I smiled and then felt sad when I realized that all along, the one who actually showed care and love towards me was Ried, not him.
"Remember that time your eyes changed at my mother's apartment, and I ended up driving you to your house?" I asked softly.
"Yeah, about that, it still wasn't me," he answered in a low tone.
"I figured, so Ried has golden yellow eyes?" I asked seriously.
"Yes," he answered.
"So all this time, the one who confessed and treated me like a princess was him?" I asked.
"Yes," he answered.
"Then you don't feel like he does, do you?" I asked.
He clearly pointed out how they were of one body but with different emotions, character, and personality.
When a few minutes of silence went by, I walked to the kitchen and grabbed my bag that was on the kitchen chair.
It was now clear how he was cold to me and then sweet. There were two of them.
Ried was the one who wanted me. He was the one who didn't see me as a nuisance. He was the one who was in love with me.
August was the one who was crazy for Teresa.
I walked to the living room and went straight to grab the door handle.
"What are you doing?" he asked loudly.
I turned and faced him coldly.
"Tell me you don't love Teresa anymore. Swear on your moon goddess that you are in love with only me, August!" I said loudly.
He stood up, looking at me with a pained expression on his face.
"It was all Ried all this time; I now understand. He is the one who wants and loves me. He was the one who did all this so we could be together. He is the one who is willing to put it all down for us to be happy," I said, then looked to the other side and blinked back the forming tears.
"That's not true," he said in a very low tone.
"Really?" I asked, then faced him.
"It was all him that did all this; you are correct, but I didn't intervene because I wanted to know what I wanted and choose who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with," he answered.
"Is that why you are here now? Have you decided on who you want to be with?" I asked.
"Yes," he answered as I let go of the handle and brushed my hand through my hair.
"Is it Teresa?" I asked seriously.
"Well, I'm sorry, but...,"
"Great! I knew it; you love her so much to easily let go," I said with blurry eyes and then turned to walk out.
"Well, I'm sorry to love you more than I did her," he said as I froze.
"It's weird, but I really want you as Ried wants you. When I stayed away and observed how you and him interacted, I wanted everything you had together. I felt so jealous and forgot how we were one," he said as I smiled.
"I do have great respect for your mother, but the way I feel for you, I have never felt for anyone. I swear on the moon goddess," he said.
I slowly turned and looked at him.
"I have liked a few women in the past, and I was sure I was in love with them and that I could never love like that anymore. But now I know I was wrong. The way I want and feel for you is unlike anything I have ever felt," he said.
"I am jealous, and I want to kill those friends of yours when they get awfully close or too friendly with you. I also want to take over and just love you in my arms whenever Ried kisses you," he said, then chuckled softly.
"I felt like I was going crazy because the urge I was feeling wasn't only due to him, but because of my own selfish desires. So yes, I really am crazy in love with you, no matter how I try to pretend or reject my feelings," he said.
I instantly dropped the bag on the floor and ran to him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders, tiptoeing and crushing my lips against his.
This was everything I wanted him to say.
I wanted to never leave and just love him with everything I had so he could see that he was all I wanted and craved for.
