Larson's POV
"Do you like the smell?" Tamara asked with a smile.
I inhaled deeply and then nodded.
"I like it," I answered simply.
We were in a store looking at perfumes and trying to see which one suited me the most.
Although she looked serious whenever she didn't like a scent, she seemed to have a lot of fun.
My plan was to go out to eat, but when she saw the store, she asked me to pull over, and I couldn't say no.
"Although I love this a lot, let me check out that purple one at the far end of the shelf," she said and then went to grab it.
I turned and looked at the jewelry display that was close to the entrance. Since we walked in, my eyes had been set on a beautiful blue diamond necklace and how amazing it would look if she wore it.
"She would love it," my wolf said, making me chuckle.
"I don't think so. Since we walked in, she didn't even spare a glance at the jewelry," I answered.
"Maybe she is being considerate of us," he said seriously.
"Please, we’ve been getting a monthly allowance of a hundred thousand dollars since we were fifteen. Not to brag, but we’re millionaires," I answered proudly, then walked over to the jewelry display to examine the necklace more closely.
"It really is beautiful," I whispered softly and then looked up when I picked up a female human scent.
"Hi, I'm Martha. Welcome to our store! How may I be of service to you?" a jewelry saleswoman asked, tucking her hair behind her ear.
I looked at her coldly and then frowned.
"I want that necklace," I answered, pointing at it.
"What an excellent choice! This Vivid Blue Ceylon Sapphire Diamond Pendant Necklace is what most ladies adore and love," she said, giggling.
She was really annoying me with each passing second.
"I said I wanted it, did I not?" I asked.
"Oh right, the necklace is seventy-five thousand dollars," she answered, moving her hand to her neckline and making a seductive gesture.
"Stop looking at me and do your damn work," I said seriously.
"Oh my, you're so firm—I like that," she replied as I shifted my gaze to the side and met Tamara's eyes. She was standing there, looking at me coldly.
When she approached and stopped in front of me, I immediately smiled. "Did you get it?" I asked nervously. I felt like a cheating bastard caught red-handed.
She raised her hand, showing me the perfume we both liked at first.
"Here you are, sir," the saleswoman said, placing the elegant black box on the glass display.
"We'll take the perfumes as well," I added, pulling my luxury Gold card from my wallet and handing it to her without meeting her gaze.
"I hope you don't mind," I whispered, returning my wallet to my pocket. I picked up the box, opened it, and took out the necklace.
"What?" the saleswoman asked, sounding confused.
"I wasn't talking to you," I replied, glancing up at her. "I was talking to my girlfriend."
She had a surprised expression on her face.
"Girlfriend?" she asked in a low tone.
"I'm glad you aren't deaf," I answered and then looked at Tamara, who looked shocked by my words.
"I want to get you a ring someday, but for now, I can only give you this necklace," I said seriously as she smiled at me.
"Larson, you didn't have to," she whispered.
"You deserve the best, Tamara. So may I?" I asked softly.
She nodded and then turned to give me her back and moved her hair up with her free hand.
I carefully put it around her neck with a smile.
"I'm done," I said softly.
She dropped her hand and turned to face me.
"It's beautiful," she whispered when she looked at it.
"Sir, your card," the saleswoman said seriously.
I was about to look at her when Tamara touched my chin and made me look at her.
"I love you," she said loudly.
My heart was beating rapidly, and my wolf was purring over her words.
I leaned in and kissed her lips lightly.
When I pulled back, I smiled widely.
"I love you too," I answered seriously.
When the jewelry saleswoman cleared her throat, I laughed softly and took my card from her hand.
"Miss, may I have the perfume? I'll—"
"No thanks," Tamara cut in, grabbing my hand and leading me out of the store.
Once we reached my car, she muttered, "I hate her."
"I hate her too," I replied honestly, slipping my card back into my wallet with care.
She turned to me, a small smile on her face. "She was pretty."
"Yep, pretty annoying and unprofessional," I replied, making her laugh.
"I had to keep reminding myself she was human," Tamara said seriously. "If she weren't, I would’ve sunk my fangs into her."
"Is that jealousy I hear?" I teased.
"Yes," she admitted, her tone earnest. "I was very jealous over how hard she was trying to seduce my boyfriend."
"Well, you don't have to be, because you are the only one I see," I answered and then opened the car door for her.
"I even left the jewelry box behind and refused a shopping bag because of her," she said as she got into the car.
"I can go back and get them for you," I answered.
"No! I don't want you to go back. Can we just go and have our meal? I feel hungry," she said softly.
I closed the door and went around to get in.
Once I was in, I shut the door behind me and shifted to face her.
"Are you seriously hungry?" I asked.
If it's blood she wanted, then I was more than willing to give it to her.
"For food, yes, I am," she answered simply.
I smiled and then buckled my seat belt.
"At times, I forget how you are half fairy," I said and then started the car.
"You aren't the only one who does," she answered simply and then winked at me.
I really loved her a lot, and each minute I spent with her felt like a blessing to me.
