Alejandro pulled the door shut behind him, his features unreadable. Martins had sent the location this morning, and he didn’t need directions as he knew the place.
He drove like a man on a mission.
The club was tucked into one of the wealthier parts of town, but it was no less disgusting. On the surface, it catered to the rich. Behind the curtains? It was just well-dressed filth.
Club Dusk. Discreet. Dangerous. The kind of place where secrets got lost and women got violated.
He parked outside, stepped out, and adjusted his cuffs. The bouncer at the door raised an eyebrow.
"You on the list?"
Alejandro smiled that slow, deadly grin. "Let me in," he ordered calmly. One way or another, he was getting through that door. Whether it would be with blood or without was up to the bouncer in front of him.
"Sir, this is a private are—"
Alejandro leaned forward. "Tell your manager that Alejandro Garcia is at the door."
The bouncer froze, then quickly pulled out his radio.
Two minutes later, he was inside.
Neon lights cut through the dark air. Alejandro didn’t pause. The hall smelt like alcohol, sweat, and perfume. The scent made him sick. How did people stand to be in such an environment?
He moved like he owned the place, heading straight for the back rooms.
Room Eleven. He found it and opened the door without knocking.
There he was.
The bastard from last night. He was naked, passed out and sprawled across silk sheets with a brunette beside him who was not the same girl he was with at the gala.
What a shocker, he rolled his eyes sarcastically.
The girl stirred at the sound. Her eyes widened and she let out a gasp when she saw him.
Alejandro raised a finger to his lips.
"Get dressed. Quietly. Don’t wake him." He whispered to her.
She obeyed, and five minutes later, she was gone.
Alejandro stepped fully into the room, and he shut the door.He then turned back to the man on the bed.
The same smug bastard from the night before. The one who'd disrespected Nivera and said things that he shouldn't have said.
But in a way, it was only because of the bastard he got a feel of Nivera's erotic expression as she came undone on his finger. That still didn't excuse the bastard.
He wouldn't have had to go this far had the bastard just apologized and left the moment he showed up, but he didnt and so, here he was.
He picked up a bottle of expensive whisky from the table and smashed it against the wall.
"Wake up."
The man groaned, but he didn't open his eyes.
Irritated, Alejandro grabbed the edge of the blanket and yanked it off.
That did it.
"What the f—"
Alejandro stepped forward, unhurried. "Disappointed?"
The guy scoffed. "Let me guess. This is about that bitch."
Alejandro's fist collided with his jaw before he could finish the sentence.
The man hit the bed, groaning.
"Call her that again," Alejandro warned, voice calm, low, almost gentle.
"I didn’t even touch her, man. Just having fun."
"You looked at her like she was prey. You spoke to her like you owned her. And you laughed when I warned you."
The man spat blood. "So what? You her owner now?”
Alejandro could tell the bastard was having a hangover as his speech was slurred. Wonderful, the odds were in his favour, not like they weren't before.
"You made a mistake last night."
"Relax, man," he hissed as he reached for his pants. "Didn’t know she was yours. In case you haven't noticed, you have an infamous reputation for changing women, and I thought she was one of them."
Alejandro slammed him back onto the bed with one hand.
"You disrespected her."
The man laughed, though his voice shook. "What are you going to do? Beat me up in a sex club? You'll go to jail."
Alejandro's smile returned. Cold. Icy and he saw the man gulp. “Now, does it look like I care about going to jail?” He asked.
"I’m going to teach you not to open your mouth about people you can’t afford to offend."
The guy gasped. "You gonna kill me over a girl?"
Alejandro tilted his head. "No, but I’m going to make sure you remember this.”
He grabbed the man by the collar and slammed him against the headboard. Not hard enough to break anything. But just enough to make him pale.
"You like humiliating women in public? Talking like you're untouchable?"
"It was just a joke—"
Alejandro hit him.
A clean, sharp punch. Knuckles meeting cheekbone. A hiss of pain.
"That was for the comment."
Another.
"That was for looking at her like she was for sale."
A third, softer.
"And that’s for thinking I wouldn’t find you."
The guy slumped. Bleeding, dazed.
Alejandro stood.
"See, I let a lot of things slide. But disrespect? No. You looked at her like she was something to conquer. You spoke like you forgot who the hell I am."
He then grabbed his phone and opened the camera.
"Smile."
The man cursed, but Alejandro snapped a photo anyway.
"This goes to every contact in your VIP circle if you so much as think about her again.”
"If you ever breathe her name again, you won't wake up next time."
He walked to the door, paused, and turned back.
"Tell anyone about this? No one will believe you. And even if they do, I’ll still win."
He left the room. Calm. Composed.
Martins was waiting in the lobby. When had he arrived?
"Handled?" His head of security raised an eyebrow
"Handled."
Alejandro stepped into the early morning sun, slipped on his glasses, and smiled triumphantly.
No one messed with what was his.
Nivera would never know what he did today.
And she didn’t need to.
But anyone who tried to hurt her would learn.
She wasn’t just under his protection.
She was his.
