                    DOMINO POV:
“Why are you doing this to me? Why are you trying to make me go crazy even though you are already putting me through more stress than I had bargained for?” Lena asked, not breaking from the act of brushing her hair softly.
I knew she was on the verge of breaking down into tears, but I lacked the empathy to soothe her tears.
I have never been the type to soothe a crying human,I would pay any amount to be away from the tears and pain.
Maybe that was because I had more than fair portion of pain that I was void of any human sympathy.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, after properly thinking through my words so as mot to trigger her anger.
Pregnant women have to be the most fearful humans, they could easily break down into tears and make you feel bad.
I was treading on eggshells, but there was no way she would let me out. I might act all tough and carefree, but her bearing my child was making everything difficult to put through.
Complied with the fact that she had give through much hell without making me feel more worse.
I was only putting up a facade that I cared less about what happened.
“You know what I'm talking about and you're just trying to act like I'm being dramatic. Domino, why are you acting like I begged you into this?" She snapped, turning to look at me with those feisty eyes of hers.
“Fine! I was able about explaining to you what happened. And it you would listen, then it would be perfect." I said, looking out the window with my hands deeply settled in my pant’s pocket.
Few minutes passed, I couldn't say anything. Neither did she, as she waited peacefully for me to say anything. I was still contemplating telling her, or just walking out without telling her anything.
That would hurt her, and she would cry. Which was the last thing I want happening.
“I'm listening and I'm waiting for you." She whispered like she was not the one about raining fire and brimstone on me few minutes ago..
" Those people were trying to kill you, and they are after me.”
"Why?” she asked, after gasping with her hands flying up to her mouth.
“I thought you read that file back then in my office. Yes, that file, I have been trying to get them for years now all to no avail.”
"But why are they coming after you? I didn't get to read everything until you came back. I want to know everything because everything is happening to me."
"Well, it happened since I lost my entire family and I killed their fathers. You know children and trying to fight for their parent's death, so that's their children ganging up against me.
And well you came into the picture when you become my surrogate. They think you are that important to me, because I have never took any woman in or had anything to do with them until you came along.”
I felt a sharp stinging pain in my heart, as I winced. Good thing she wasn't looking at me, I felt worse than I did before for telling her such.
I snapped his head back with an apologetic look on my face as I couldn't believe that I told her that, she smiled a sad smile as she turned back slowly.
She was just a surrogate, but I knew that was too harsh. No matter what, she was still the mother of my unborn child.
“I didn't mean it that way, I'm sorry for being blunt and inconsiderate of my choice of words."
"It's fine. That's the truth isn't it? So I'm fine with it and I can't wait for this to be over so we can go out separate ways.” She sounded so calm like everything was alright, she was always the one who made a fuss but how so she was so silent that even the room became so unbearable to stay in.
“One more thing. I don't feel safe anymore staying with you. I would prefer to go back to my house, I won't run away with the child not like I can.
You would catch up with me so there's no point of even trying, it's just that I don't want to stay anywhere close to you."
Whatever she was saying wasn't sounding meaningful to me. I couldn't comprehend what she was trying to and I turned back, maybe looking at her wil help my understanding.
“What did you say? Did I hear you properly?” I asked, clenched my fists in anger as my knuckles began turning white with anger.
I couldn't believe that she was trying to get away from me like I was some scary monster she was dreading.
Looking at her, she had held her breaths as she stared at my clenched fist with her chest heaving faster.
Fuck! She must think so terrible of me, id she thinks I can hit her. I wouldn't even if she starts hitting me right now.
I can't be a horrible woman better, if I ever need the urge to fight. I would pick a random man on the street or enter the goddamn ring to pour my anger.
Beating a woman was so disgusting and it led me to remember how I had to stop a foolish husband from killing his own wife. He was rotting in prison now, as his own mother testified against him.
“Don't tell me you think I can hit you because of anything in this world. You must really think that low of me.
But I won't let you go anywhere, you have become mine. I don't care of you don't want me, my w
orld is deadly.
I'm a cruel man for wanting to keep you here. But what can I say? I never claimed to be a good man.”
“Definitely. You are not."
