LENA POV:
“How is he my brother? I didn't know I had one, what am I saying! I don't! Stop trying to play with my intelligence, I might be wounderd and confused but I won't let you buth ridicule me now!"
“Wait! Allow him explain, this is much deeper than anything you would ever know. Much more better."
“Drop me now!" I screamed, thrashing around in his arms despite how it hurt my injuries .
I was too annoyed to even think about anything.
“I won't Lena, I won't! You can say whatever you want right now! And I would listen to you and answer all your questions.
“How is he my brother? What is happening?" I asked, quietly hiding my head into his chest as I sobbed silently.
“I need you to calm down and let me answer all your questions. You are not in the right state of mind right now!”
"Why? I'm so confused now and I don't even know what to think! So my whole life have been lie, and you knew?”
" I didn't know he was your brother until I saw the mark on his hip. The exact one on yours.”
“Please stop messing with me, I'm still trying to endure the pain I'm going through now. Don't make me go unc…..” I was interrupted by Domino's haste towards the car with Cane opening the door immediately with a sick look on his face like he was scared that something might happen to me.
I'm fine. Just stunned, but I couldn't say anything, words got stuck in my lips as I lay ay the back seat watching them look back at me a thousand and one times as they drove– definitely to the hospital.
And my eyelids began to fail me as it got so heavy, that I couldn't fight back and I fell into a deep dark and piercing silence.
The piercing light stopped me from opening my eyes fully, I held them shut until someone would walk in and shyt the blinds.
But it got dark immediately and I opened my eyes slowly to Claire smiling at me.
Wait! Smiling? I don't think everything is okay as she had never smiled, I looked around hoping someone was around to save me if she try to harm me in my week state.
“Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you. If I wanted to, I would have done it since I walked into your room, there hours ago.
I don't attack innocent people, especially the one who is lying sick on a hospital bed.
Are you okay? You look very bad and I can't imagine the pain you hmare going through right now all because I wasng able to be there on time.”
She looked away with guilt, like it was her fault Emily became my worst nightmare.
“It's not your fault so you know. You did nothing wrong, rather you did everything right! I got to know who Emily really was, and she was killed before she tried anything stupid,” I whispered.
Fuck I couldn't say more than that because I was already getting wake from the strain I was putting on right just to speak with her.
“You don't have to say anything, but you can listen if you want to," Claire replied, sitting down as she faced the window with her face slightly hidden from my sight.
“I know you are still very much sick and I shouldn't be bombarding you with too many information right now. But you need to know, you deserve to.
You have to leave Domino, his enemies is coming for you since you are carrying his heir and they would stop at nothing to kill you in the most painful way away.”
Her hands shook a bit, then she steadid it and looked back at me with a sad smile on her face.
" Why?” I whispered back, tears were about falling from my eyes as I thought it was about to end– all this mess.
But rather it was getting worse and I regretted getting involved with Domino.
I was trapped because I was still carrying his unborn child, maybe I should get rid of it
I tried getting up to my feet, maybe I would be able to get what is happening or rather, what she was saying.
“Are you seriously asking that? I thought you said you read the file and you saw everything. So why are you acting surprised about it?” She asked, looking at me with a shocked expression on her face as I stared back equally with one.
“I can't leave now! I don't even have anywhere to run to even if I want to. It's not about the money, I have alot with what Domino paid me to be his surrogate.
But I can't continue to do this, I can't keep running away from my problem and it won't survive anything.
I have been a runner, always running from problems rather than facing then. Running away won't stop anything.”
"Are you willing to go through hell just for a man who won't do same for you?” Claire asked, turning as she stared deep into my eyes. I bet she thinks I'm crazy!
But heck, I am. But I would never leave someone at the point where they need me the most.
" Yes. And I would like you to leave now,” I said, putting up a fake smile like everything was alright when I fucking knew it wasn't.
"Right.” She replied, and she walked out of the room without another word. I wanted her to say something so I could have an idea of what was wrong. But nothing!
I felt so bad asking he rto leave after what she did for me. But I won't let her think she had an upper hand with me, rather I would repay her favour in that way I won't be indebted to her.
Groa
ning as I laid back on the bed with my forehead knitted with worry, I wanted all this to end so I would be at peace.
I deserve that more than anything else now!
