LENA POV:
Oh fuck no. Blood. I felt nauseous immediately, knowing I might fell faint soon. I hated the sight of blood down to my core, it made me feel and look sick.
Looking up with my brows knotted in worry, I wanted to be sure he wasn't shot. But who was? The floor was covered with crimson red substance, and I could swear it was blood. Nothing could sway me from that.
But after taking a glance, he looked perfectly normal save the tussled hair on his head that added to the dangerous expression on his face right now.
“What's happening? Who is shooting and why?" I asked, trying to look beyond his tall frame, but he covered me in a bid to avoid me seeing the scene.
If he can try to cover me, then it must be that bad to get such response from him . And I would rather soothe my. curiosity, than getting traumatized. So I shut her eyes immediately and tightly.
Without a single word, he carried me over his shoulders as he slammed the door shut and bolted it.
“You would have to listen to me,you would listen and say nothing until I'm sure that you are safe and sound.
But don't try to do your wishes, you have showed me that you can't listen to instructions” He warhed, I nodded without opening my eyes as I couldn't bear to look at him.
His voice sounded stiff and I'm sure his face would scare me more, so I held on to his shirt as he began to move faster in silence.
“I'm sorry." I apologized, he didn't say anything as we continued. I don't even know why I was apologizing.
I opened my eyes just in time to see him inputting some combination code..
“I know I'm not supposed to ask, but I'm curious. This is the only question I would be asking until the whole situation gets calm," I said, and he looked down to my face for a brief moment.
“My hidden house, you need to be kept there until everything is calm and safe enough for my child," He said, and I nodded.
Right. He was only trying to keep me safe, so he won't lose his child and heir.
I should have known he cared less about me, so I bent my head lower in a bid to reclin away from him.
I could hear the door shutting and I looked up, the interior was even more beautiful than the upper building and two maids stepped out immediately they heard his footsteps.
“Welcome ma'am. Sir," They greeted, as they bowed down in unison.
" Take good care of her. She's in shock about what happened, make sure she regains her strength. The doctor would be back to check her properly,” Dominic said, setting me down on my feet as he walked away like I was nothing but a baby machine.
“Ma'am, please follow us so we can lead you to your room. You look tired."
I nodded, completely at loss on what to say to them, walking down the hall as I was marveled by the architecture that was used to build here.
If I thought he was just a normal billionaire, the secrets I found and this underground building toppled that.
He was beyond that, and I wanted to get over with this as soon as possible.
“Don't bother about me, I would be fine. You can take your rest,” I said, when they were heading to the bathroom. Obviously to run me a bath, but I wasn't used to such.
I wanted nothing more than silence and my own time, to reflect on everything that just happened.
“Okay ma'am," they replied, and they began leaving my room.
“Wait. Sorry. But I have a question. Can I ask please?" I asked, looking at them as they exchanged glances.
“Go on ma." The older looking one said, her eyes a darker shade of brown as she smiled in a soothing way..
“How long have this been here? You live down here or you were brought here when the gunshots started?"
They exchanged the same glances again, only this time. The look was filled with fear and terror dancing in their eyes.
" Ma'am, we can't answer that. When the master comes back, you can go on and ask him.” She replied, the smile have been rid from her face.
It said more than her words could even explain, something was wrong and I have to get down to it or it might turn out to be something darker than this.
“Oh, okay. You can go on. I would ask him myself." I replied, looking away as they left faster like they were trying to get away from my questions.
Hm! I scoffed, as I undressed slowly, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
My stomach was already getting rounder, making me go crazy that I was losing my flat tummy.
But it was worth it, if I can be able to afford my sister treatment. Seeing her better was everything and more to me.
I sighed, getting my bath robe before walking to the bathroom with my steps slower and heavier.
I was just about to go in when I got stopped by a piercing scream, one that sounded with horror and pain.
I couldn't rush forward, it was definitely the maids as no one was supposed to be here again.
I quickly quickly as I crept into the walk-in closet, trying to stay calm while watching to see if anyone would barge into my room.
“She's not here." I headed a deep voice said at the hallway, fear crept faster under my skin.
“Have you checked all the rooms? We can't leave without finding her. She's the main point of all this mess happening now."
Ba
ng! Bang! Two gunshots and their bodies dropped to the floor. I slapped my hands over my mouth as I held my breath.
“Come out. I know you are in there."
