Lena POV:
I couldn't do that, the voice wasn't even sounding familiar to me. And I couldn't even try coming out.
“Lena out with it. It's me."
I ignored and I heard a loud thug in the door, sending it flying across the room as it crashed into the mirror startling me again.
“Now. Out. We don't want Domino getting to us because I take you away. That would prolong the problem,so step out woman.”
"Gront, get out now!" Domino said, he sounded calm. More calm than usual, heightening my curiosity as I sought for where to peep.
“Why? Why do you want to ruin our fun?" The man called, Gront said.
His voice was filled with mischievous contrasting with that of Domino's calm voice. I finally found a peep hole, and I looked up with mouth still closed with my hands.
Gront looked like a Mafia, but he wasn't wearing a mask. Which means he wasn't just a little assassin, but someone of high ranking and power.
“You really think I would keep her here? I know this would be the first place you would check.” Domino said, suddenly bursting into laughter as his eyes scanned around the room looking for me.
I poked a finger and he spotted immediately without betraying out any suspicions.
“Domino, this smartness of yours won't help you. You and I know that she's in here, listening to our conversations..
You know she is. So why bother lying to me? I would take her and you would be free to find the killer of your……” The blow on his torso stopped the remaining words from leaving his lips.
Domino didn't wait as he dasged for him again with such precision that made me gasp out loudly.
They both stopped immediately with a sardonic smile crepting up Gront’s face. He turned to my direction as he looked back at Domino who groaned.
I moved back clutching the bathrobe tightly as I held my breath.
“She's in there. You said she wasn't, now I'm intrigued. I want to know the woman you would care so much as much as hiding her away this carefully.
“Ma'am. Hide in here. He killed my sister, and let me get her revenge even if it would cost me my life." I turned sharply and the younger maid clasped her head over her mouth to avoid her making any more noise.
“You might get hurt. You are a woman like me,” I whispered, not wanting to cause her harm.
“You think Domino would leave you to the hands of women that can't defend you of themselves? We are your bodyguards, she was only killed because all five of themattacked her at once.
Thereby making her weak. Hide here.” She said, pushing me into any passage.
" Run. Once you get into the next part of this building. You would surrounded with Domino's other guards and you would be protected.”. She said, pushing me as she left no space for my arguments.
I ran as fast as I could ignoring the screams I was hearing through the wall. I needed to get his baby into safety.
The door she described was up ahead and I ran faster, in the body to enter and fall flat on the floor.
I rushed into it, slamming the door with such intensity as I slid to the ground.
“You are so gullible and easy to trick,I can't believe you fell for that woozy dying last minute plan.”I heard, and I turned.
She was standing there with a smile on her face, the maid! She was surrounded by men who looked at me with shock written all over their faces.
" She's pregnant. Claire. That's a goddamn pregnant woman.” One of her men said, looking at me with pity.
“I care next to nothing! We were paid to bring her,not kill her. So my conscience is clear.” Claire said, scoffing as she walked away.
“I can't believe I'm working with a bunch of weaklings. Bundle her up and drop her in the car." She said.
" Please, please. Don't hurt me, I would do anything please. I don't even know what's happening and suffering me for something I know nothing about would kill me.” I pleaded, falling to my knees as I almost held her legs.
“Oh fuck. I can't do this, you were so nice and gullible. Lena, I'm a bad person but I can't do this to you."
"Let her go. Make sure she is safe from them before letting out.” She said, and I looked up hoping it wasn't a prank.
"Are you serious? Please don't let kill me, I don't want to die. I would leave in one year time. I won't do anything to stop your plan, even if you want to get rid of Domino."
They snapped their head to me with surprise written all over their faces, my hands flew to my mouth the moment I realized what I said.
They started laughing as they threw themselves around rolling with laughter, I couldn't help myself as I joined them laughing softly.
“Take her up. Feed her and make sure she's safe, I don't want the blood of a dying woman in my habds." Claire said, and she walked out with a smile on her face.
“Hey I'm Duke, don't think too much about her. She's not as tough as she acts, you won't blame her if you know what she have been through." Duke said, he was big and sounded sweet. I felt relaxed hearing his voice, he looked rough but his voice and eyes said otherwise.
“Thank you Duke. I understand, we have all been through tough times. That's how I got entangled with Domino and his drama,I was looking for something to help my family."I said, smiling a bit as I walked over to the sea
t he was gesturing at.
Muttering a thank you as I sat down slowly,I wanted to rest for sometime but I was feeling dizzy.
The room was spinning.
