Dizzy with happiness, I melted into his arms, nodding weakly as my heart fluttered.
His lips brushed my forehead again, tender and warm.
For days, I floated in a dreamlike haze. Could this be real? Had fate really handed me someone so perfect?
I thought I'd been given a miracle.
I didn’t know yet that miracles sometimes come with strings attached.
Vincent never posted the video.
Weeks slipped by without a whisper of trouble.
The boss insisted keeping our relationship quiet was safer—less drama, fewer questions.
And just like that, our secret affair began.
Like any woman hopelessly in love, I poured myself into making his life easier—simmering soups, folding paper stars, keeping our little rented haven spotless while waiting for him to come home.
Every visit, he brought me a single red rose.
But today, he walked in empty-handed, his expression dark. He slumped onto the balcony, lighting a cigarette with shaky hands.
"What’s wrong? Is the company in trouble?"
I knelt in front of him, soft and pliant, like a kitten seeking comfort.
The new product had bombed in testing. Worse—some rival had beaten us to market with a cheap copy.
"Vanessa, it’s over. The company’s finished. I sank everything into this launch. There’s no coming back."
He crushed his cigarette against the balcony tile. I’d never seen him so broken.
"Isn’t there any way to fix this?"
I frowned, my chest tightening with his despair.
What did I know about business? I was just a pretty face.
"Vanessa, you have to help me. You’re the only one who can."
His grip bit into my shoulders as he shook me slightly. The dullness in his eyes flared to life.
"Me? How?"
I stared, baffled. Marketing? Product design? I was clueless.
"Vincent Lowell’s company just launched their version. If you get close to him—seduce him—you can steal their data. We tweak their design, push out our own version, and claw back what we lost."
His fingers dug deeper.
His eyes burned with frantic hope.
"But... that’s illegal. And wrong."
I pulled back, uneasy.
I wasn’t smart, but I knew cheating when I saw it.
"Vanessa! Grow up. Without proof, they can’t touch us. Besides, they stole from us first. This is justice."
His brows furrowed. When I hesitated, his voice dropped, honey-sweet.
"Vanessa, can you really stand by and watch me—watch everything I built—crumble? I’m doing this for us. For our future!"
That lie—our future—hit its mark.
"But I’m your girlfriend. How can you ask me to seduce someone else?"
I bit my lip, resistance wavering.
"It’s fine, Vanessa. You’d be doing this for me. I won’t blame you. Once we recover, you won’t just be my partner—you’ll be a hero."
His excitement was contagious.
He painted me in gold until I started to believe it.
Within an hour, he’d worn me down.
I agreed. We both knew—with my body, my face—Vincent wouldn’t stand a chance.
He pulled strings, landing me a job at Vincent’s company.
On my first day, he dressed me himself—black stockings, a deep V-neck blouse.
"Vincent won’t know what hit him."
He smirked at my reflection like I was his greatest weapon.
My role? Receptionist.
Every person walking through those doors would see me—especially Vincent.
"Good morning, sir!"
As planned, I bent forward sharply, the perfect ninety-degree angle.
The air kissed my exposed neck and stomach.
But the real heat came from Vincent’s gaze—lingering just a second too long below my collar.
