Scarlett's POV
My eyes fluttered and opened slowly, with my head aching as the sudden brightness of the room fell on my face. Someone just tapped me, waking me up from the deep sleep I must have drifted into.
I rubbed my eyes to clear my vision, and right in front of me were those students who had been beaten by Dracula alongside me. They were both standing upright, staring down at me like I had grown two heads.
I could only recognize the girl who I knew after the proprietor introduced her to the school as a special student, all because she had the Lycan King token of friendship or whatever it was.
Slowly, with an uncontrollable yawn, I sat up and glanced around to see where I was, and just like I guessed, it was the school hospital.
That was where I landed after being dealt with by the Lycan prince. The same man I was crushing on and feeling jealous of because he only had interest in Ella. He almost killed me for marking Ella as a slave, and I just can't understand why he was suddenly going to commit murder for something like that all of a sudden.
His love for her had grown beyond measure, I guess, and now that Ella isn't that pitiful and helpless girl again, I must say they now match each other. Powerful couples that no one can tear apart.
Ella saved my pathetic life just when he was about to end it all in a snap. Just that last single punch would have taken me to the land of the dead.
It was so terrifying seeing death right in front of my eyes, ready to snatch me away from this earth at this young age, without a mate to make me feel love even for a day.
I'm glad Ella has a good heart. I was just so stupid. I was just being an asshole all this time, maltreating a girl who did absolutely nothing to me.
I shut my eyes and took a deep breath before opening again, rubbing my cheek where he had lashed out those two slaps that were like thunder struck, and I couldn't feel any pain again. I wonder when my wolf healing ability became this great because I didn't think I would ever recover from that slap that almost took me out.
"Hey, are you there?!" The voice from the guy in front of me came again, and it was then that I recalled that someone was actually there. I had been lost in my thoughts already.
"Hey..." I spoke out in a hoarse tone, remembering how much I had screamed when Dracula gave me that first kick. I must have lost my voice a little.
I lifted my head, which had been sagging down all this time, to look up at them.
"It's a few minutes before school closure. Aren't you done taking a nap?" The brown haired guy was the first to talk, so I moved my gaze away from the girl and focused on him with squinted eyes as different thoughts ran through my mind.
They were all perfectly fine too, but I don't understand what they did to Dracula to cause him so much rage that he was suddenly ready to kill everyone who had hurt Ella. I shouldn't have volunteered to go to that office and call on Dracula to come and teach us, as it was his period yet we didn't see him.
Ella refused to go, so I decided to.
"Why was Dracula beating you both mercilessly like animals?" I couldn't hold back my question as I narrowed my gaze at them, mostly at the guy, who I couldn't deny was strikingly handsome. I mean, even when you have no interest, it must glare at you that he has that special cuteness, which can't be overlooked.
"We need to talk before the school bell rings for closure." He snapped, ignoring my question as he dipped his hands inside his pocket, his dark brown eyes glazing at my face while Scarlett dragged a chair and sat beside my bed.
"What are we talking about?" I grimaced, wondering what the mean looks on their faces were trying to insinuate.
"My name is Randy, and she is my sister." He began.
"But you both don't have any trace of resemblance at all." I chuckled, wondering how siblings could be so different. If the guy could be this handsome, his sister should also follow suit. I even appeared prettier than Selene.
"He is my foster brother." Selene chimed in.
"Oh, I guessed so." I chirped, maintaining a wider smile, but it seemed to be only me smiling. Both of them had their faces as hard as rocks, staring meanly at me.
"You saw what Dracula did to you because of Ella. You know how wrong that was? Do you wish to have your revenge?" Randy asked, his voice slightly above whispers, and I couldn't just hold back the outburst of laughter.
"What are you insinuating, please?" I sneered, and he shrugged.
"I have plans to make him pay by destroying Ella's love and trust for him. My sister here loves Dracula, and she can't get him because they are together. We can be a team and...."
"Is this what you wanted to talk to me about? Are you both mad or what?" I flared up, feeling irritated. He sounded so damn stupid that I felt like smacking his face.
"You have to join us. We are planning on buying his trust and making friends with them so as to draw closer. We can't do that without your help." Selene added.
"You both are making me almost shit in my pants! How in hell are you going to accomplish this nonsense when you just saw he almost turned you both into corpses, including me? How will I help you? Please leave me. I need to make peace with Ella and ask for her forgiveness before Dracula kills me for what I did to her in the past. We all know she is the only one who can tame that Lycan beast." I hissed, rubbing my face and inhaling deeply.
"She will forgive you and easily make you friends again, but us? She won't even want to see our faces. You can help us become friends too if you also help convince her that we are friends with you and are equally sorry. Like...let's make them feel we've been defeated. That's the only way my plan can work." He pressed on, sliding his fingers into his hair and tugging at them as he let out a frustrated grunt.
"What do you intend to achieve by being their friend, or rather, their fake friend?" You knew how dangerous Dracula is, but you are yet to see Ella's rage. She killed a bodyguard today before coming to school in just a second. You both should give it a rest and go your separate ways since Ella didn't want you both dead. Ask for forgiveness and go back to your pack safely." I advised, tossing the duvet off my legs.
"We want to stay in the royal palace with you. We want to be as close as possible to them. You have to help us!" The guy seemed to be ordering me this time as his tone went deeper.
"I've done a lot of bad things. I can't help you convince Ella to take you as friends. Tell her you want to be friends, give her a reason to accept you. Just keep me out of your suicide plans!" I scoffed, stepping out of the bed.
"We didn't plan to involve you in the first place, but we have a gift for you after you join us, and we succeed in putting enmity between both of them." Scarlet said, smiling wryly while I scoffed again, putting on my shoes.
I don't give a damn what it was.
"We need you because you have been close with Ella and know around this pack better. You are an important piece," Randy added, and I only wagged my head, pitying them already for the fatal mistake they are about to make. With the desperation I could see in their eyes, I knew it wouldn't take long before I heard of their deaths.
They are about to play with fire.
"Scarlett," Randy called, and I turned toward him, my hand on the door knob.
"What? I have said it countless times. I am not interested." I sighed.
"The poison in your body is curable. I don't know the demon that did it to you, but I know you must have lost hope. Yes, the antidote to that is only in our pack, and I can give you one to prevent you from dying." Randy's voice rang in my ears, and my jaw dropped and my eyes widened in shock at what I just heard.
Can Laura's poison be cured?
This must be a joke? How did he know about it?
"Don't ask me how I know of it. The sign is in your body. You have to help us."
"Wait, even if we succeed, which is impossible, how will Dracula fall for your sister? Don't you see how much he loves Ella?" I breathed.
"I don't love Dracula anymore. I just want to see him suffer. Destroying Ella's love and trust for him will cause him a lot of pain and heartache. That's what I want. I want to see them become enemies!" Selene fumed, and I exhaled.
"The demon that poisoned me did it so I'll force Ella to kill herself by torturing her and making life hell for her. I have lost hope since Ella isn't weak anymore. Now you are saying I can still live if I join you. What do you plan to do in order to destroy their love?" I asked curiously.
"Does it mean you are in?" He asked, and I took another deep breath.
"I don't think we will succeed in...
"Are you in?" He cut in.
"Give me the antidote first."
"Good girl. That's a yes, then."  He nodded and walked away.
"What?" I frowned.
"Thank you for accepting our proposal. Don't worry, you won't get into trouble. My mother is a great witch, an expert in magic, charms, and spells. We got you." Selene whispered in my ears and laughed, pecking my cheek before following Randy away.
What just happened? What plan do they fucking have? Well, I just have to join. I need the antidote without Rose having to die. She is the one to save the werewolves from invading and destroying us.
