He gives you a bemused look as you grab his arm and start leading him towards the Slyrherin common room. He laughs softly as he follows you.
"Are you really going through with this? Setting me up on a date?"
"I am." You sound determined.
He laughs again at your determination. He still can't quite believe that you're really going through with this.
"And who exactly do you have in mind to set me up with?"
"Someone who has a big crush on you since third year." You reveal.
He raises an eyebrow at your statement, a mixture of surprise and curiosity on his face.
"Wait, really? Someone's had a crush on me since third year and I didn't know about it?"
"I think you know but you rejected her." You state.
He thinks for a moment, racking his brain trying to remember.
"Rejected? Hmmm..."
He shakes his head after a few moments, looking at you.
"I don't recall ever rejecting anyone in my third year."
"Don't act like you don't reject girls every week!" You roll your eyes because it's true that he rejects girls on a weekly basis.
He smirks, amused by your comment.
"What can I say? I have a certain standard. They have to be interesting enough to catch my attention, and most of them are just plain boring."
"Yeah whatever, you're going on a date with her." You announce.
He gives you a skeptical raise of the eyebrow, crossing his arms as he does.
"And you think I'll agree just like that, huh? No questions asked?"
"You have my word, she's a nice girl I promise you." You say with a glint of hope in your eyes.
He laughs softly, amused by your insistent persistence.
"And how do you know this, exactly? That she's a 'nice girl'?"
"She's one of my best girl friends, who also happens to be my roommate! Don't tell me you never noticed." You glare at him as if it's obvious he must have noticed you hanging out with her. There's no way he would be that clueless, he's quite the fox for all you know.
He looks at you with a hint of realization in his eyes, the pieces starting to fall into place.
"Ah, so she's friends with you?"
"Yup, that's how I know she has the biggest crush on you." Duh.
He smirks, an amused huff escaping his lips.
"And why would you want to set your own friend up with me, knowing my, as you call it, 'rejection rate'?"
"Who said you get to reject? You don't." You cross your arms.
He looks at you with feigned shock.
"Wait, so I don't get a choice in the matter? You're forcing me to go out with your friend?"
"Yes, please give it a try at least!" You insist.
He lets out a soft chuckle, shaking his head in amusement.
"Alright, alright, I'll do it. But only because it's you asking me."
"I know you'll make a good couple. I'll be the best aunt to your children." You squeal with sparkle in your eyes.
He laughs loudly, clearly enjoying your enthusiastic response.
"Whoa, whoa, slow down. Children? We haven't even gone on this date yet, and you're already talking about babies?"
"Did I never tell you? I'm a fortune teller... I can see the future." You joke.
He laughs again, clearly not taking you seriously.
"Ah, of course you are. And what do you predict for my future then, oh mighty fortune teller? "
"You're gonna marry my friend, Casey and have lovely babies with her!" You reveal your plans.
He laughs out loud at your prediction, finding it incredibly amusing.
"Marry Casey? Have children? You're full of surprises, aren't you?"
"There she is! Hi casey!" You call her over to you.
He watches as you wave someone over, looking in the direction of whoever you were calling. He can't help but feel a mixture of intrigue and slightly amused disbelief at how determined you are to set him up with your friend.
"This is Tom. And Tom this is Casey." You introduce them to each other.
He turns to face the girl you were waving over, taking in her appearance for a moment. She's undeniably attractive, but what intrigues him more is the fact that she seems familiar. He studies her face for a moment, trying to figure out where he knows her from. He puts on a polite smile, extending his hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Casey."
"Hello- Tom." She stutters being shy.
He notices her slight stutter and lets out a soft chuckle, finding her shyness oddly cute.
"No need to be nervous."
He takes her hand and gives it a light squeeze.
"Great! I'll leave you two be!" You clap your hands excitedly.
He turns to you as you say that, looking surprised for a moment. He opens his mouth to speak, wanting to protest and ask you to stay, but quickly closes it as he remembers that you were the one who set this whole thing up.
He clears his throat and turns back to Casey as you leave, trying to hide the mild panic he's feeling inside.
"I'm kinda confused, what is this about?" Casey asks Tom nervously.
He lets out an awkward chuckle, trying to play it cool.
"Uh, well, your friend over there seems to think we would make a good couple."
"Do you think the same?" Casey questions.
He pauses for a moment, looking at her with a thoughtful expression. He hasn't had many interactions with her in the past, so he takes a second to truly take her in.
"To be honest, I haven't thought about it before. You're attractive and seem nice, but I don't know you all that well."
"We should get to know each other then. If you want..." She smiles then becomes nervous again.
He nods slightly, appreciating her friendly tone.
"Yeah, sure. We can get to know each other better."
After spending some time with Tom, Casey returns to your dorm.
"So, how was the meeting with Riddle?" You tease Casey.
Casey smiles, clearly still feeling giddy from her time with him.
"It was good. He's actually quite charming for someone who has that 'bad boy' reputation."
You roll your eyes at that. "He's no bad boy, he's a total jerk. How can you even fall for someone like him." You scrunch your nose in disgust.
Casey blushes slightly, still feeling a bit defensive of Tom.
"He's not as bad as you think. Sure, he can be a bit arrogant at times, but that's just his way of putting up a front. I think he's actually quite sweet deep down."
"Blah blah whatever, we have class tomorrow, now sleep, lover girl." You lie back down on your bed with a thud, not wanting to hear anymore of Tom's praises.
Casey laughs and rolls her eyes playfully.
"Fine, fine. I'll go to sleep. Night!"
