In the wedding dress shop, I wore a white wedding dress with a scar exposed on my shoulder. The shop assistant looked at me with difficulty: "Miss Lin, why don't you try this one instead?"
This was already the fifth dress.
The scar was left from saving Yorick. It was quite large and difficult to cover.
A flash of guilt crossed Yorick's eyes, and after his fingers danced across the screen, he finally turned it off.
He wanted to touch this scar with his hand as he had countless times before, but I avoided it without changing expression.
His hand froze in mid-air.
"Too many people," I explained perfunctorily.
The confusion in his eyes dispersed, and he instead grasped my hand tightly: "Are you unhappy? It's okay, Aurora. In my heart, you're always the most beautiful."
I felt a bit dazed, as if I could see the former Yorick through him.
But I quickly came to my senses.
Our relationship was like this wedding dress.
Either the style was too ugly, or it couldn't cover the scars.
Most importantly, he was already dirty.
"Mm."
I withdrew my hand, responded indifferently, and turned to change into the next outfit.
Just as I had taken off the wedding dress and was only in my underwear.
Outside the fitting room, Yorick's phone rang.
Linda's sticky, soft voice came through: "Darling, I'm on my period and my stomach hurts so much. I want you to stay with me."
Yorick hurriedly comforted her.
I quickly put on the clothes I had worn when I arrived.
The next second, Yorick ignored the sales assistant's attempts to stop him and pushed open the fitting room door: "Aurora, did you die in there?! So slow!"
His hand was still pressed on the voice key, and his tone suddenly became gentle: "Don't be afraid, I'm coming to stay with you right now."
I looked at him steadily, and guilt flashed in his eyes.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, the sales assistant smiled to mediate: "You're getting married soon, the groom could be a little gentler in his tone."
Yorick sneered: "She's just a deaf person. Do I need to watch my tone when talking to her?"
This sentence probably comforted not only others but also himself.
The guilt in his eyes immediately disappeared.
He didn't care why I wasn't continuing to try on wedding dresses.
The second after sending the voice message, he used sign language to tell me with a cold expression that something very urgent had happened with the pack, and he had to return immediately.
After saying this, he left without looking back.
Linda's coquettish voice seemed to still echo in the store.
The sales assistant had witnessed a special love triangle firsthand and looked at me with eyes full of sympathy.
I placed the wedding dress in her hands. She asked me: "Should we schedule another time for you to come try them on?"
After speaking, she realized I couldn't hear and was about to find paper and pen to communicate with me.
I smiled at her: "No need, and you don't need to refund the deposit either."
"You can hear? Then just now..."
Under her surprised gaze, I turned off the recording key in my pocket, gave her a slight smile, and turned to leave.
