Tweek had been absently playing with his fingers in the darkness of the room, when Craig slipped through the door around three am, and as his dark haired friend climbed up to his bed, all of Tweek's previous actions faltered as he pretended to be asleep.
Eric's snoring echoed throughout the room, and when most would find it extremely annoying, Tweek found it comforting, not wanting to hear the deafening silence that overwhelmed the night. Craig kicked an opening in his covers and climbed in, sighing once he was settled, with his hand pushing up the hair covering his forehead as he stared at the ceiling. It wasn't long before his breathing evened out, and Tweek knew Craig had drifted off to sleep, once again leaving him to his own thoughts.
One troubled mind stayed awake that night. Stayed awake during the vicious thoughts that consumed him entirely, draining him slowly until the morning sun had finally risen to burn the darkness and enemies inside his head away. Just like snow melts throughout a warm day.
A day of ignoring feelings and longing stares passed. A sense of relief, yet uncertainty remained in the air with the new information Tweek had delivered. And even though nothing had changed between the best friends physically, emotionally, a one sided wall had been built over night.
No longer feeling as though he could be the friend Craig wanted or needed, no matter how much the noirette's soothing words tried to convince him otherwise, he knew in the pit of his stomach that a window had closed. To be Craig's friend meant hiding his feelings for him. It meant suppressing the undying need to be closer to him, to be more than his friend.
And as Tweek slowly began to pull away from the social situations he'd usually partake in just to be with Craig, as he unnoticeably seeked out empty spaces and seats just so that he wouldn't have to stare at those pale blue eyes, only to be met with them later on, he realised he was screwed, and that liking Craig Tucker was going to be a lot of  hard work.
