It was around nine thirty when Eric finally came bursting through the front door, hot dog in hand. Tweek had been over at Kevin Stoley's house for the past hour, the time Eric should have arrived to do their assignment. Even so, they expected nothing more of him. He'd made it abundantly clear from the start, that he wasn't going to be of any help. His words were along the lines of, 'I'm just here to make sure you fags don't fuck up my work.'
At his presence, Tweek only glanced over his notebook, peering out from behind the hair covering his eyes as he watched Eric slump down on the sofa, kicking his feet up on the coffee table. The lump of a boy was too engaged with his phone to even strum up some words to form a sentence, only making some weird noise in the back his throat as a greeting.
They both ignored him though, too focused on the task at hand, wanting to complete it as soon as possible, so that they wouldn't have to meet up again. Moments passed before Eric practically flew up from the couch, knocking his hot dog wrapper from his leg, with it landing on Tweek's work, who just stared down at it in disgust. Eric's eyes were fixed on his screen as he read his messages, then he stared down at his two peers on the floor, who were surrounded by scrunched up pieces of paper and old books.
"Which one of you has a car?"
Tweek and Stoley shared brief eye contact, before Stoley raised an eyebrow at Eric. "Me, why?"
"I need you to drive me to Starks pond. Like now." Eric gestured for him to get his ass off the floor, but Kevin refused to move.
"No."
"It's an emergency, you asshole."
"No, it isn't."
Eric glowered, continuing to stand over them with his arms folded. "Kevin," He inhaled frustratedly. "If you do this one thing for me, I'll promise to stop hiding your clothes after gym."
"That's you?" Kevin scowled. Tweek closed his books and shuffled away slightly. It was making him anxious, being in the middle of two people talking over him like that.
"Okay, listen." Eric held his meaty hand out and watched closely as Kevin stood up, his knee popping as he did so, causing them all to cringe. "I'll stop hiding your clothes, and I'll let you and shymo over there do the work without me."
Tweek furrowed his eyebrows, but Kevin looked as though he was actually giving it some thought. It was a tempting offer. The chance to work in peace, whilst not having Eric there to criticise their hard work, or to order them around. It wasn't everyday you'd get Eric Cartman in the palm of your hand, having him willing to do something in return for a favour. "How about you stop hiding my clothes, and do your fair share of the work? You do that, and I'll drive you wherever the hell you want."
Eric pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he breathed. "You're breaking my balls here, Kevin."
"Do you want the ride?"
"Okay fine!" Eric snapped. "But we're leaving right now. I'm missing some good shit thanks to you."
"I can drop you off on the way back if you like?" Kevin suddenly asked Tweek, who'd gone back to writing. "We've done as much as we can for tonight anyway."
Tweek clicked his pen, slapping his book shut and gathering up all of his things, before standing. He levelled out to the same height as the other two, as he tucked his books under his arm. "Sure."
They followed as Eric all but ran to the door, clearly trying to contain his excitement for whatever it was he was so desperate to get to. By the time Tweek had stepped outside, with the darkness of the night greeting him and Stoley who was licking the door behind him, Eric was already standing at the car calling shotgun, his fingers around the handle, pulling at it, despite knowing full well it wasn't unlocked yet.
Stoley spitefully waited until he was within arms reach to unlock the door. The car lit up inside as the three of them climbed in, and as Tweek settled into the back, with his books on the space just beside him, he wondered why it smelt between a mixture of McDonald's and out of date sushi.
Eric didn't seem to have a problem though. He was already changing the radio station to one that suited his taste, before winding down all of the windows in the car, disregarding how cold it was. He even went as far as to guard it whenever Stoley tried to close them, with the two of them partaking in some hand slapping battle, until Kevin gave up to angrily reverse the car out of his drive.
Tweek shivered in the back. He hadn't brought a coat or anything since he figured they'd be inside most of the time. He had to trap his work down to the seats with his hand, to stop it flying away. The music was too loud. Both of the speakers were at either side of his head, which only made it worse.
It didn't help that it was a long ride either. Kevin's house was at the complete opposite end to the pond, not to mention his slow old-person driving style, but soon the car was pulling up on a gravelly road, throwing stones under the car when it stopped just beside the Starks pond sign.
Stoley twisted the keys, turning the car off as he turned to Eric, hoping to stare at him so intently that the larger boy became uncomfortable enough to get out without having to be told. But Eric only pulled out his phone, reclining the seat back on Tweek, whilst he typed out a message.
"Are you getting out?" Stoley huffed. He wanted to get home, to have a shower and to go to bed.
Eric ignored Tweek's grumbling in the backseat. The blonde quite clearly didn't appreciate his legs being squished for Eric's comfort. "I need to know they're here first. Christ Kevin, are you trying to get me murdered?"
"It's crossed my mind." He confirmed.
Eric would've replied if his phone hadn't gone off at that exact moment, his friends telling him they were here, and so he pulled on the handle and threw the door open, much too aggressively for Stoley's liking.
A flash of blonde hair appeared beside the car just as the door opened, and before Eric could get out, Kenny's face was peering in, his grin so wide as he bent down, with his hands holding onto the top of the car.
The sudden appearance made Eric jump in his seat, and in his embarrassed anger, he punched Kenny in the gut, making his friend groan whilst Eric pushed him out of the way to get out of the car. Kenny reappeared seconds later, no longer smiling. He acknowledged Stoley with a short nod, before his eyes flickered to the back where Tweek was sitting. He thought he'd seen his shaky friend back there.
"Tweek, what're you doing here?"  He asked, sliding into the front seat, proceeding to sit backwards as he rested his chin against the headrest to look at Tweek.
"Kevin's driving me home."
Kenny glanced at Stoley, who was already starting the car back up, looking like someone had just shit on his shoe as he glared at the steering wheel. "Come with us. I'll walk you home after."
Tweek wanted to protest, but Kenny was already out of the car and opening up his door. "I can't, I have all of my stuff with me." He reasoned, gesturing to his books.
"I'll bring them to school tomorrow." Stoley offered, growing impatient. At that, Kenny was reaching blindly into the car to grab at Tweek's arm, somehow successfully finding him despite Tweek shuffling back.
To be dragged out of a car was rather humiliating in itself, but for your shoe to fall off whilst being dragged from a car was worse. Tweek pushed Kenny away halfheartedly as he pulled his shoe back on. Stoley was already getting the hell out of there before anyone else asked for a ride, not even saying goodbye.
When Tweek looked back to Kenny, he was just smiling at him like some creep, with his arm draping over Tweek's shoulders, warming him up slightly, but not enough to stop his shaking. "Why didn't you bring a coat?" Kenny asked.
"I didn't think I'd need one."
"You two done feeling each other up?" Eric asked. He was leaned against a tree, watching them from the shadows, looking bored out of his mind.
"Jealous?" Kenny smirked, pulling Tweek with him as they walked over to where Eric was standing.
"You wish, you hobo." Eric grimaced. "My phones on five percent. The only reason I came here, was to take pictures of him to show everybody at school."
Kenny rolled his eyes but Tweek stared in confusion. "Of who?" He asked.
Kenny grinned again, releasing Tweek from his hold as he looked off through the trees like he was watching something the others couldn't see. "You're about to find out."
