The bus had been moving for almost two hours when Craig finally woke up. Apparently he'd somehow drifted off into a cosy sleep, his forehead squished against the window, leaving Clyde to amuse himself. Only now was he feeling the headache along with a sore spot on his head. The noises of bickering and chatter slowly came to him as he peeled his head from the glass to looked around. The loudest and most irritating of voices being Kyle and Eric arguing in the seats behind his own.
His fingers found his temples, rubbing them tenderly as he proceeded to scan out the window, whilst Clyde laughed beside him, startling Craig on the inside, though outside, he only looked annoyed. "Sleeping beauty has risen!"
"Fuck you." Craig flipped him off, only furthering Clydes smile.
"Hey man, it's good you're awake. You looked pretty dead for a while."
"I feel it." At Craig's statement, Clyde fumbled around inside his bag, digging deep, with eyes of pure concentration. It hadn't taken too long before he was pulling out a little box, to which Craig only blankly stared at.
The brunette tossed the box at Craig, who's reflexes were slightly off from only just waking up. Though instead of catching it like a pro, it instead hit him in the chest. He continued to stare down at the object, before scooping it up to read the context, realising to his relief that it was paracetamol.
Clyde reappeared with a bottle of water, shoving it in his friends direction, to which Craig gladly took. He popped two of the pills out into his mouth, before washing it down with some water.
"We're not there yet?" He tiredly sighed.
"No, about half hour away."
At the back of the bus, Tweek was happily accepting the straggles of chips Token kept handing his way, seeing as though they were his favourite. Beside them, Kenny had been rambling on for the past twenty minutes about how marijuana was proven to be safer than cigarettes, but Tweek was only half paying attention.
Since he'd forgotten to bring his own, Token had allowed him to put the left earbud in to listen to his music, and even though he didn't know which band was playing, he was actually enjoying it.
Kenny took notice, slightly smiling across the aisle as Tweek drummed his fingers on the back of Butters chair, trying to join in with the beat of the music, but frowning to himself whenever he messed up.
By the time the bus had finally came to a halt, most of the students had settled into quiet chatter, those of which hadn't fallen asleep from boredom. The ride wouldn't have been so bad if they'd played some music, or opened up a window, but now that the bus was stopped, and Mr Gates was leading the way off, non of that really mattered anymore.
The sun was at its peak, with the wind barely existent, yet the trees still managed to sway peacefully, their leaves falling rarely to lay on the settled ground. Craig had to shield his eyes when he stepped off the bus, the heat instantly prickling at the back of his hand. The teacher gathered the students around, forcing them to stand close together, only making the temperature more unbearable, though in reality it wasn't so bad. It was only for the fact the South Park residents rarely saw anything but snow.
Tweek nudged Tokens arm anxiously. "Oh man, I think I'm gonna get a sunburn." His eyes roamed his arms, checking if they had in fact been burnt within the few moments of being out of the bus. Token only rolled his eyes, returning his attention to their teacher.
"Alright, everybody remember their groups?" Mr Gates called. "If not, I have them right here. So once we reach the cabin, we're probably going to have a quick introduction and tour, then you can get settled into your rooms, or have a walk around."
The group of students followed the teacher blindly through the dark trees. Gates was following a tiny map he'd found on a stand, and was insisting it was this way, or that way. Tweek was staring at the ground as he walked, watching the coloured leaves passing by as he stepped through them, though Clyde's beaten down sneakers were ruining his scenic view, and the way he walked, kicking up the leaves and mud was distracting.
He was so captivated by watching the nature, that he could barely hear the conversation his friends were currently having, up until Craig's shoes were the next to disrupt his pleasant view. They came up beside his own to match his pace. Tweek looked up, first glancing at a tree in front, before casually looking at Craig, who was mid wiping his nose with the back of his hand, making Tweek want to gag. When their eyes finally met, Craig lazily sniffed, as though it was a way of saying 'hey'.
Thankfully the walk hadn't taken too long, with the group arriving at the cabin within fifteen minutes, but hey, at least the view wasn't all that bad. They were lead into the dining room, where they all just kind of hung by the back like a bunch of scared sheep. It was only when an old guy came out from a creaky door, urging them to take a seat, that they spread out. Tweek sat down nearest to the door, wanting an escape if necessary, and Craig sat beside him, slouching down as he listened with disinterest, to the old guy talking.
Subconsciously Tweek found himself mimicking his friends posture, his shoulders barely touching Craig's in a way that made him still feel connected. Though his pulse was racing, and his hands twitched to reach out, Tweek remained in place, his eyes stuck on the old guy, refusing to let them wander over to his best friend.
