The three friends strolled into the Tucker household, not so long after.
Without a word, Clyde headed up the stairs. Most likely to become aquatinted with staring down at the water in the toilet, for the next half hour. Together, Craig and Tweek headed over to the couch, flickering through the channels as they waited for either Clyde, or Craig's mom to return. Usually Laura arrived home an hour later than her children finished school, however, she'd finished work early today, and was currently busy, making dinner in the kitchen.
Unaware of his mother's presence only meters away, Craig glanced over to Tweek, who was sitting on the far end of the couch. The blonde hadn't intentionally seated himself so far away, but even so, Craig didn't like it. Repeatedly patting the place beside himself, Craig waited for Tweek to obey. With a look of annoyance, Tweek shuffled over, sitting close enough to Craig, that their shoulders touched.
Surely enough, Craig liked it.
A show neither of them were familiar with, played across the television screen, despite both the boys being uninterested. Instead, they were preoccupied with each other. Tweek was watching as Craig mindlessly fiddled with his own fingers, whilst Craig was watching Tweek in return.
The moment Craig's eyes settled on the side of Tweek's face, was the moment his thoughts began to wander. One specific thought remained in his mind, even when he turned to look away.
From the top of the stairs, Clyde practically tumbled his way down. Somehow, he appeared worse than before, if that was even possible. When he threw his aching body down beside Tweek, it was hard for Craig to restrain himself. He wanted to tell Clyde to just go to bed, so that he could be alone with Tweek, but he also knew that would raise suspicions in their sickly friend. So he didn't. The three of them sat in mostly silence, aside from Clyde's groaning every now and then, and watched the cartoon on the screen.
It wasn't long before Laura was calling everyone into the kitchen for dinner, surprising them with her sudden presence. The table was set, with place matts for each person present. A huge, freshly cooked chicken was placed on the centre of the table. Beside it, was side dressings. They each sat down, wherever they decided, with Ruby shortly entering the room, punching her brother in the arm as she passed him. Aside from rubbing the sore spot with a glare, Craig said nothing.
Unfortunately for Tweek, he was sitting opposite Laura. She smiled knowingly across the table, as she filled up her plate with a bit of everything, whilst Tweek awkwardly smiled back. "How was you day, Tweek?"
"It was... good." Tweek nodded in reply. "Uneventful, mostly."
Beside him, Craig smirked down towards his food, knowing full well, that it wasn't uneventful. Ruby noticed from across the table, though, and found a devious smirk of her own. "What're you planning on doing with your senior prom coming up, so soon?" She innocently inquired as she met eyes with Tweek. For the shortest second, her eyes flickered over to Craig's unamused ones, before settling back on Tweek's nervous shrug.
"Haven't thought about it."
"That's okay, sweetie." Laura smiled with warmth. She too, glanced over to her son expectantly, as if to say, 'ask him.' "You'll find someone to go with."
"Yeah..." Ruby agreed, stabbing a piece of chicken onto her fork. "But if you don't, I'm sure Craig will go with you. It's not like he'll get a proper date, anyway.
Just as Craig was about to protest against his annoying sister, Clyde chimed into the conversation as he deteriorated, prodding tiredly at his food. "Oh, that reminds me." He mumbled. "Bebe has a friend who needs a date..."
Tweek was sitting quietly in place, feeling as though he was being attacked from various places. He wished he hadn't came tonight, and was now frowning at Craig beside him, expecting him to be considering Clyde's proposition. Though Craig wasn't paying attention to Tweek right now, he knew he was receiving a harsh glare. He didn't know why, since the thought of taking anyone else to prom, wasn't even crossing his mind.
With a deep inhale, Craig masked his emotions as he cut Clyde off. "Actually," He began, gaining the attention of everyone at the table. "I'm going with Tweek."
A display of different expressions took place after the confession. Some knew what it really meant, whilst others, meaning Clyde, thought nothing of it. From the far end of the table, Laura's mouth twitched into a small, proud smile, whilst Ruby looked entirely caught off guard. Clyde was unbothered, going back to playing with his food, but it was Tweek's expression which meant the most to Craig.
His eyes were stuck in place as he stared at Craig in awe. Never, in a million years, had he expected Craig to have been so open to his family about them. When Craig seemed to shyly meet his eye, he unsurely smiled, as though wondering if he'd said the right thing. He knew he had when Tweek smiled back, and despite the intrusive eyes watching them, Craig didn't all that mind, because seeing the look on Tweek's face right now, was worth it.
He was happy with his decision to be going to prom with Tweek, and now, as he watched as Tweek slowly looked away, trying unsuccessfully to force the smile away, Craig knew, more than anything else, he wanted to be with Tweek.
