Carlos and Yana went to great lengths to keep their true identities secret, shielding them from the prying eyes of the outside world and the ruthless games of the business world.

'I'll have a serious talk with her when the recording stops,' Victor thought.
Watching the show, Carlos and Yana were equally displeased with this.
Yana frowned and asked, "What's wrong with Freya? Didn't we warn her not to reveal her family identity in public?"
Carlos said, "Maybe it was her first time on a variety show. She probably just got nervous."
Yana pursed her lips, thinking, 'That didn't sound nervous at all. It was more like she'd been planning this for ages. I wonder what she's really up to.'
The next guest to arrive was Thomas Yacoub, a rising star in showbiz. He started out in a boy band that later disbanded, but shot to fame with a breakout role in a hit period drama.
His partner was a guy named Wesley Harris, a film student.
The last pair of guests arrived together.
Adam puffed up her little cheeks when he saw that face on the screen. "That bad woman is here too."
Skylar gently stroked Adam's head. "Don't be upset."
He pouted. "Okay, Mommy."
Elianna introduced herself in a sickly sweet, affected voice. Then it was the turn of the girl beside her, Sabrina Scott, who spoke in slow tones.
Once all the guests had settled in, the director organized an icebreaker session to help everyone get acquainted.
Skylar quickly lost interest, so she took Adam upstairs to rest and didn't bother watching the rest.
Two days later, Freya unexpectedly returned home.
Carlos looked puzzled. "Why are you back all of a sudden?"
Freya pursed her lips. Before she could speak, tears were already streaming down her face. "I've just been away for too long. I'm so homesick," she sobbed.
"What about Victor?" Carlos trailed off, looking puzzled.
Freya clenched her jaw. "Victor said Skylar should take my spot."
Everything was going just fine until those netizens wouldn't stop harping on about her plagiarism, demanding she quit the show or else they'd report the production team.
To placate the outraged audience, the production team brought up terminating her contract.
Freya thought bitterly, 'It's all Skylar's fault. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be stuck in this scandal. That bitch.'
In her mind, Freya cursed Skylar a thousand times, wishing she could tear Skylar to pieces and devour her flesh and blood.
However, once Skylar took over, she would never have a peaceful day again. The idea brought Freya a sense of relief.
Carlos hadn't been following the variety show and had no idea what had happened. When Freya said she was homesick, he didn't think much of it and simply said, "Just stay home and rest."
Skylar was still at work, unaware that Victor had arranged for her to join the variety show. She only found out when she got home and Carlos told her.
Carlos, sensing her reluctance, added gently, "If you'd rather not go, just tell me. I will talk to Victor for you."
Skylar didn't hesitate. "I'll go."
'He's still my brother, after all. I have to help him,' Skylar thought.
Skylar said, "I'll need to leave the company and Adam to you for now."
Carlos put his hand on his chest and promised, "Don't worry. I will take good care of everything for you."
Skylar smiled, "Thanks, Dad."
"We're family. That's what I should do," said Carlos.
Skylar nodded softly.
Skylar told Adam she was going on the show. With tears welling up in his eyes, he clung to her leg and pleaded, "Mommy, I want to go too."
"Sweetie, your little body isn't strong enough for this. Can you wait for me at home? I promise I'll call you every single day," Skylar said gently.
After much coaxing and cajoling, Skylar finally managed to calm Adam down.
With her bags packed, Skylar set out as dawn was just breaking.
Victor went out of his way to borrow a car from the production team so he could pick up Skylar himself.
Getting out of the car, Victor took the suitcase from Skylar. "Thanks for bailing me out," he said.
