"He's still pestering you?" Keith exclaimed, his voice full of disbelief.
Serena had made it crystal clear that she wanted nothing to do with him. She had thought Craig would get the message and just back off.
But to her surprise, he was so stubborn that he just wouldn't give up and insisted on bothering her.
"I've been looking into it. It turns out Craig has been using his status to get involved with a lot of women over the years. He's even got a girlfriend right now," Keith said.
Serena already knew about this, but just thinking about how someone she had admired for so many years turned out to be such a scumbag really turned her stomach.
"I'll send you the evidence later," Keith added.
Keith could tell that Serena was already sick and tired of Craig, so she hadn't sent her all the information he'd gathered before. He just wanted to let Craig keep a shred of dignity in Serena's mind.
But now, things were different. Craig wasn't even trying to keep his dignity at all.
"Alright, I'll send it to Lana too, so she won't keep making a fool of herself over someone like him," Serena said.
Even though Serena had already suspected as much, when she actually saw the evidence, she couldn't help but feel nauseated. She immediately forwarded it to Lana.
Lana called right away, her voice heavy with disappointment.
"Just thinking about how Craig asked me out to dinner today with that polite tone, I wanna throw up. He's such a jerk," Lana complained.
After running into two jerks in a row, Lana was just done believing in love.
Lana said, "I really feel bad for you. I heard what happened from others. You're just too nice. If it were me, I would've given that woman a piece of my mind.
"We didn't even know what was going on, and we didn't actually do anything. She knows her boyfriend cheated, but instead of confronting Craig, she takes it out on other girls."
Serena couldn't help but feel a little helpless. People really could be blind when it came to relationships. In the end, that girl was a victim too.
That was why Serena didn't call the cops or have her taken away.
In the middle of their conversation, Serena's phone started ringing again. The moment she saw the caller ID, her brows knitted together.
On the other end, Lana noticed Serena had gone quiet for a while and couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong, Seri?"
"It's Craig again," Serena said. She knew that if she kept dodging his calls, Craig would just keep pestering her. She chose to pick up his call and make everything clear once and for all.
"He actually has the nerve to call again?" Lana sneered, her voice dripping with disbelief.
If she weren't stuck on the phone, she probably would've beaten Craig to a pulp by now.
"I'll take the call. I'm going to set things straight and make it clear. I don't want him to mess with our lives anymore," Serena said.
She ended the call with Lana and picked up Craig's call.
Craig spoke up, "Serena, I've heard about what happened before. Can you give me a chance to explain?"
Craig's voice was still as gentle and refined as ever, but to Serena, all she could hear now was his hypocrisy.
Serena kept her expression neutral. "Is there really anything left to explain, Mr. Arellano? There's nothing between us that needs any special explanation. I do admire your designs, but that's all there is to it.
"From today on, please don't contact me privately anymore. Otherwise, your girlfriend might get the wrong idea about us."
With that, Serena hung up and immediately blocked his number for good.
The next day, Serena headed to the studio for work like she always did, only to find Craig waiting right outside the door.
As soon as he saw her, he gave her a friendly grin.
"Hi, Serena." Craig greeted her while stepping right up to her. Serena's expression soured. She really hadn't expected Craig to chase her all the way here.
"Mr. Arellano, I thought I made myself very clear on the phone yesterday. I want nothing to do with you," Serena said firmly.
A few colleagues walked in, and they gave them curious looks. After all, Craig was a big name in the design world, so the employees couldn't help but sneak glances at them.
"But my feelings for you are genuine. I really want you to be my girlfriend," Craig said, not even blinking.
"Sure, I do have a girlfriend, but you could be my mistress. I promise I'll make sure you're well taken care of," he said smoothly, without a hint of shame.
"Resources, money—whatever you want, just say the word, and I'll make it happen," he added.
Serena was utterly speechless at his audacity.
"Mr. Arellano, do you even hear yourself right now?" she said, her voice thick with disbelief.
Of course, Craig knew exactly what he was doing. He'd had his eye on Serena's face for a long time, and the moment he got back to Zowerin, he reached out to her. From the very beginning, he'd been after her for this exact reason.
He hadn't expected to be exposed so soon. But now that the truth was out, Craig couldn't be bothered to keep up the act. After all, he was sure no designer would ever say no to him.
In his opinion, Serena could rise to the very top with his backing. It was a privilege most designers could only dream of. And now, Craig was offering it to her on a silver platter.
"I'm sorry, but I can't accept that. Honestly, what you just said made me sick," Serena said, her face cold and unyielding.
"Please stop bothering me. If you keep making these unreasonable demands or keep harassing me, I'll call the police," she added, her voice firm and resolute.
With that, Serena didn't hesitate—she kicked Craig out of the studio on the spot.
"Are you really not going to reconsider? No one else can even come close to the kind of resources I can give you." Craig pressed, his tone full of confidence.
Craig was honestly surprised that Serena turned him down, but in his eyes, she was just playing hard to get.
Everyone wanted to climb higher, and in the international design world, there was a clear pecking order—designers from Zowerin were always looked down on. Craig was the only Zowerin designer they truly trusted.
"I'm absolutely certain I won't get involved in this kind of arrangement with you. And I'd advise you to take girls' feelings seriously. Otherwise, it might come back to bite you one day," Serena said coldly.
With that, she firmly closed the door, shutting Craig out completely.
Then she turned to her employees and gave a clear instruction. "If Craig comes by again, make sure he doesn't get in."
Even though no one really knew what had gone down between the two of them, it was obvious to everyone that Serena wasn't in a good mood.
They nodded right away and promised, "Don't worry, Serena. We definitely won't let him in next time."
Seeing everyone was on her side, Serena took a deep breath, her expression finally relaxing a bit. Looking back on her recent dealings with Craig, she felt like all her illusions about him had shattered.
'Some people might be incredibly talented, but their morals are just awful. He's already been caught cheating, and yet he can still spout such self-righteous nonsense,' Serena thought, feeling a wave of disgust.
Just then, Lana happened to arrive at the studio. Seeing everyone crowded together at the entrance, she looked a little puzzled.
"What's going on? Why is everyone crowding around the door?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
