Serena's hands trembled as she fumbled in her pocket, trying to take out her phone to call the police. But her vision was blurred, and her hands had no strength.
She fumbled for a long time before finally taking out her phone, but her trembling fingers couldn't press the numbers on the screen accurately.
She bit her tongue hard, trying to sober herself up, but accidentally dialed Keith's number.
The phone rang for only two seconds before it was answered. Keith said, "Ms. Gray, is there anything wrong so late?"
Serena said, "Mr. Brannon, save me—" Keith became nervous when he heard her weak voice.
"What's wrong with you? Where are you?" he asked anxiously.
Serena stuttered where she was.
"Alright, I'll be right there as soon as I can." Keith hung up the phone and rushed out quickly. He soon found the hotel according to the address provided by Serena.
Keith came to the door of Serena's room and knocked hard. "Serena. Are you in there?"
There was no response, only the faint sound of water. Keith knocked harder and shouted Serena's name loudly. However, there was still no movement in the room.
Keith panicked, and he began to pound on the door. He kept twisting the doorknob, trying to open the door but found it was locked from the inside.
Keith's heart sank to the bottom, and he realized the situation might be worse than he thought. The rapid knocking and Keith's shouting alerted the hotel staff. The male waiter said, "Sir, can I help you?"
Keith said, "My friend is inside. She may have an accident. I can't get in touch with her, and I can't open the door."
The waiter also realized the seriousness of the matter and immediately called the security guard and the hotel manager with a walkie-talkie. At the same time, he comforted Keith, "Sir, please calm down. We will deal with it right away."
The hotel manager hurried over. After understanding the situation, he immediately opened the door.
Keith ignored everything else and rushed in. Then he saw the room was in a mess, and Jacob was lying on the ground, unconscious.
Keith ignored him and went straight to the bathroom door and knocked hard. "Seri, are you in there? It's Keith."
Hearing Keith's voice, Serena struggled to open the bathroom door. When she saw Keith standing at the door, she almost burst into tears.
The cold floor was against her knees, but it was hard to drive away the heat from her body. She looked up at Keith's anxious face and couldn't help crying.
Serena's lips trembled slightly, wanting to say something, but no sound came out. As soon as Keith went in, he saw Serena was soaking wet and lying on the floor.
The hotel manager and the security guard rushed into the room closely followed. Seeing this scene, the hotel manager took a deep breath.
Keith didn't care to explain. He picked up Serena and lifted her from the cold floor.
He said, "It's all right, Seri, it's all right." Serena trembled all over and buried her head in Keith's arms, crying silently.
Keith turned to the hotel manager who had been standing there in a daze, and said in a cold and urgent tone, "What are you still standing there for? Call the police."
The hotel manager then came to his senses, quickly took out his phone, and dialed the police number with trembling hands.
Keith ignored him, picked up Serena, and rushed out of the hotel.
In the car, the aphrodisiac took effect again. Serena held Keith tightly, kept rubbing against him, and stroked his chest muscles.
She murmured, "I feel so uncomfortable. Please, Mr. Brannon, help me."
Keith's breathing also raced. He tightly grasped Serena's hands that were touching his body, and then said to the driver, "Please drive faster."
At this time, Serena had quietly approached him and kissed his lips. Keith was stunned, and his hands tightened slightly. He tried to control himself and then sent Serena to the hospital.
When Serena woke up, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. Keith was sitting by the bed, looking worried, and said, "You finally woke up."
Serena's eyes gradually focused, but the memories of last night flooded into her mind like a tide.
She remembered that she had lost control because of the aphrodisiac and pounced on Keith to kiss him.
This memory made her blush.
The memory of Keith's face so close made Serena's heart lose its rhythm completely.
She secretly stretched out a little finger from under the quilt, only showing her eyes to look at Keith.
"Seri, are you okay?" he asked.
Serena slowly nodded.
Keith looked at Serena's face and couldn't help recalling her blurred eyes, restless hands, and soft lips.
He couldn't help but swallow, and then he moved his eyes away unnaturally.
Serena only nodded in a very slight move, but she still didn't dare to look up at him. She said, "I'm fine. Thank you for saving me."
"It's good that you're okay. You don't need to thank me," Keith said.
Serena suddenly remembered something and asked, "What about Jacob?"
"I called the police yesterday, and now he is being investigated at the police station," Keith said.
"Thank God." Serena breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't want to have any more dealings with that man.
But Serena didn't expect that the person who hurt her turned out to be Daisy. She didn't understand why Daisy did this.
At this time, the door of the ward was knocked gently. "Come in," Keith said.
A doctor came in, followed by a nurse. "Ms. Gray, how do you feel?" the doctor came to Serena's bedside and asked with concern.
Serena said, "I feel much better, thank you."
The doctor checked Serena's body with a stethoscope and looked at the case in the nurse's hand.
The doctor said, "You are recovering well. Now the effect of the medicine has completely worn off. You can go through the discharge procedures after finishing this bottle of infusion."
Serena said, "Okay, thank you."
The doctor nodded and turned to the nurse, "After the infusion, observe the patient's condition again. If she is okay, you can go through the discharge procedures."
"Thank you, doctor," Keith thanked the doctor sincerely.
"You're welcome. Have a good rest, and contact us at any time if you have any questions." After that, the doctor and the nurse left the ward together.
After the infusion, Serena felt much better. Keith drove her back to the apartment.
