                    "Thanks," Serena said politely.
"You're welcome." Keith nodded and then said, "Have a good rest. I'll be leaving now."
Serena watched Keith leave, then turned and entered the apartment. She took a hot shower and changed her clothes, feeling much fresher.
She decided to go to the company. There were some things she had to figure out.
Serena arrived at the company. She walked up to Erika and, without any unnecessary words, slapped her.
Colleagues around her stopped their work and looked over in unison, the atmosphere instantly tensing up.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know. Serena usually seems so gentle."
"Erika? How did she offend Serena?"
"Who knows."
"This should be interesting," someone whispered, while others took out their phones, ready to record.
Erika was applying makeup in front of the mirror when she was suddenly stunned by Serena's slap. "How dare you hit me?" she said.
Then she reacted and began to laugh triumphantly. "So you had a good time last night, huh? How was Jacob? Did he feel good?"
Serena trembled with anger at Erika's mocking words.
"You think too highly of him," Serena said. "Only someone like you would think he's good."
Erika reached up to twirl her long hair. "Are you still pretending to be high and mighty? Serena, you were slept with by Jacob last night. Are you still pretending you haven't been defiled?"
She tilted her chin slightly and sneered, "You're just a whore who lets anyone sleep with her."
The crowd was appalled at Erika's words.
"What? Serena and Jacob...?"
"No way. She doesn't look like that kind of person."
"This is really unexpected. She usually pretends to be so pure, but she does such things behind the scenes."
"Serena is disgusting."
Hearing Erika's malicious speculation, Serena suddenly realized something. Erika didn't seem to know what had happened last night.
"My chastity is none of your business. By the way, Jacob should be in the police station now. Why don't you go keep him company?" Serena said.
The triumphant smile on Erika's face froze instantly. She grabbed Serena's arm and asked sharply, "What did you say? Jacob is arrested? Impossible. You're lying to me."
"You'll soon find out if I'm lying," Serena said.
Erika stood there, pale-faced and lip-trembling. She collapsed into a chair, her hands gripping the armrests so tightly that her nails almost pierced the leather.
Serena gave Erika a contemptuous glance, then ignored her and returned to her desk.
Serena pulled out her chair and calmly began to handle her work. Just then, Daisy came in and said to her, "Serena, I'm sorry. It's all my fault."
Daisy's tears streamed down. "I really didn't want to do this. I shouldn't have framed you—It's good that you're okay. Please listen to my explanation."
Serena looked at Daisy in disgust. "You should explain to the police."
She didn't want to say another word to Daisy. Daisy stood by Serena's desk, tears flowing, her hands tightly clutching the hem of her clothes.
"Serena, I'm sorry, really sorry..."
Serena didn't look up. She continued to work as if she hadn't heard Daisy.
"Serena, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. I really didn't mean to. I was so scared at the time," Daisy said.
Serena finally put down her pen. She looked up and said, "Crying to me won't help. My forgiveness doesn't matter now. What matters is that you've broken the law. I suggest you go ask the police for forgiveness."
Daisy trembled violently, then collapsed to the floor and burst into tears, her sobs echoing throughout the office.
After a while, the office door was pushed open again, and two police officers walked in. "Who are Erika Cornett and Daisy Lincoln?" they asked.
Erika and Daisy turned pale and trembled all over.
Serena stood up from behind her desk and pointed to Daisy, who collapsed to the ground, and Erika just sat there in panic. "They are. Last night, they tricked me into a hotel room and tried to have Jacob Banks rape me."
The two police officers looked in the direction Serena pointed. One of them stepped forward and showed their police badge to Erika and Daisy.
"We suspect you are involved in a criminal case. Please come with us to assist in the investigation," the policeman said.
"Officer, this has nothing to do with me. She did it all," Erika said, pointing to Daisy on the floor, her words jumbled as she shifted all the blame to Daisy.
Daisy raised her head, her eyes blurred with tears as she glared at Erika. "Erika, how can you do this? You forced me to do it."
"Enough," one of the police officers snapped. "Save your words for the police station."
The two police officers stepped forward and handcuffed Erika and Daisy.
Daisy was still crying, while Erika was pale-faced and her eyes were empty.
The office erupted instantly. People stared at Erika and Daisy being taken away by the police, and the whispers quickly turned into angry accusations.
"I knew these two were up to no good."
"Oh my god, they actually did such a thing. It's too outrageous."
"Daisy usually looks so honest, but she does such things behind the scenes. It's unbelievable."
"They teamed up to frame Serena. It's disgusting. They should be fired."
"I've long noticed that Erika has a problem with Serena."
"Yes, Serena is more capable than Erika, so she must have been jealous of Serena for a long time."
"Fortunately, Serena called the police in time."
Stacey walked up to Serena with a look of disgust and said in contempt, "Serena, you've made the company a mess. Are you happy now?"
Serena turned to look Stacey in the eye and replied, "Ms. Mosher, if you were the victim, would you just swallow your anger?"
Stacey sneered and folded her arms across her chest. "Maybe you actually enjoyed it," she said.
Serena looked at Stacey with a cold smile and then said, "Since you envy being raped so much, why don't you go and 'enjoy' it instead? How does that sound?"
After saying that, Serena turned back to her desk and ignored Stacey. Stacey was left speechless by Serena's retort and could only glare at her.
