The surrounding colleagues were all stunned, gaping at the scene.
"Oh my God, there's a fight."
"That Victor is too much. Ms. Gray divorced him, and he's still pestering her like this."
"Right, he's disgusting."
"Ms. Gray is so unlucky to have such an ex-husband."
Everyone took out their phones and raised them to film the chaotic fight.
Leon, who had been standing behind Victor, let out a scream. He knelt on the ground, hugging Victor and shouting "Dad" repeatedly while panicking to check Victor's injuries.
Victor felt his ears buzzing. He covered his beaten cheek, struggled to shake his head, then staggered to his feet.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Victor glared at Keith with a vicious look, grinding his teeth and saying, "This isn't over."
Keith took a bank card from his suit pants pocket, twirled it nimbly between his fingers, and said to Victor, "This is for medical expenses. The extra is for your mental damages."
Then he raised his arm and slapped the bank card hard against Victor's face.
Victor swatted the card away. Without even looking at it, he tremblingly picked up Leon, turned around, and walked away quickly.
After Victor left with Leon, Serena snapped out of it and hurried to Keith's side, asking with concern, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
Keith looked down at her, his eyes softening a bit.
"I'm fine. Are you unhurt?" Serena replied, but her brows were still furrowed. She lowered her eyes and unconsciously clenched her hands.
She hadn't expected things to escalate like this. If it weren't for her, Victor wouldn't have lost control, and Keith wouldn't have had to fight for her.
From the divorce until now, this series of messy entanglements had always dragged others in.
She looked at Keith's profile gratefully, suddenly feeling like crying.
Stacey, standing not far away, had witnessed everything. She watched Keith defending Serena with jealousy.
Stacey walked up to Keith, pointed at Serena, and said spitefully, "Keith, Ms. Gray is a divorced woman."
She deliberately paused, looked Serena up and down with contempt, and then said, "She's a whore."
Serena stepped forward to look straight at Stacey. "Ms. Mosher, can you save some face for yourself? Or is 'whore' the role you usually identify with?"
Stacey was about to retort when Keith interrupted. "Stacey, watch your mouth. Seri's business is none of your concern. You have no right to judge her."
"I... I was just telling the truth." Stacey retorted unwillingly, but her voice clearly weakened.
"Mind your own tongue." After that, Keith looked at the onlookers still filming with their phones and said, "Those who recorded videos or took photos, delete them immediately."
He took out a business card from his pocket and continued, "If anyone doesn't delete them, expect a lawyer's letter from me."
The crowd immediately turned nervous, and all the photographers panicked. Some quickly started deleting files, while others exited the recording interface with lingering fear.
Keith scanned the crowd until he was sure everyone had stopped filming. The onlookers scattered.
Keith turned around, walked straight back to Serena, and said gently, "It's all sorted. Don't worry."
"Thank you so much." Serena adjusted her clothes and looked at Keith sincerely. "If it weren't for you, I would have been more embarrassed just now. I'm truly grateful."
Keith suddenly leaned closer and said, "You look much more tired. Want to grab a coffee? Some quiet time can help you relax."
Serena was taken aback, not expecting such a sudden suggestion. She hesitated, but thinking of Keith defending her without hesitation, she finally nodded.
"Okay, let's go for a coffee then," she said.
Keith smiled at her. "Come on, I know a good place."
The two arrived at a quiet little café. There were lush green plants outside the door, and inside, warm lighting and soft music created a peaceful atmosphere.
The waiter led them to a window seat and presented a thick menu. Keith flipped through it casually and asked, "What would you like to drink?"
Serena casually ordered a latte.
After ordering, Keith handed the menu to the waiter and specifically added, "Add some sugar."
The waiter acknowledged and left quietly.
Serena looked at Keith, hesitated, and then said, "By the way, why did you suddenly appear at our company gate?"
Keith tapped his cheek casually. "I came to find you."
Serena was slightly taken aback. "Find me?" She asked instinctively, "Is there something wrong?"
Keith said seriously, "I know you do interior design and have seen some of your previous works. I must say, they're stunning."
Serena blushed at his words and quickly waved her hand.
He said, "You're too modest. So I hope you'll consider joining my company. We need an excellent designer."
Serena hadn't expected Keith to make such an offer in person. She hesitated, rubbing her fingers, and said, "But I—"
"Don't refuse yet." Keith interrupted her calmly. "I'll offer you a satisfying salary, and the working hours are flexible."
Just then, the waiter brought their coffee and quickly withdrew.
Serena held the warm coffee cup. After a moment of silence, she said, "Mr. Brannon, for such an important matter, can you give me some time to think about it carefully?"
Keith took a sip of coffee and then said in a low voice, "Of course." He smiled gently and added, "Take your time."
