Unable to dodge in time, I was hit by Wesley Smith again, thrown heavily onto the deck, and vomited blood violently.
Vivian wanted to help me, but she wasn't as fast as Wesley Smith.
Wesley Smith reached out and pulled sharp metal fragments from the boat's hull.
Gripping them tightly, he stabbed toward me.
"Once you're dead, Vivian will be easy to deal with!"
Just as the blade was about to pierce my body, I suddenly rose up, grabbed Wesley Smith' hand, and chanted an incantation.
The spell emerged from my mouth, bringing golden light that bound Wesley Smith.
Wesley Smith screamed in agony: "Ahh!"
The next second, Wesley Smith escaped from Rachel's body and appeared on the deck in soul form, while Rachel completely fainted.
I was secretly delighted.
It worked.
I had deliberately shown weakness earlier to make Wesley Smith lower his guard.
When he got close to me, I used the spell to force him out of Rachel's body.
This was taught by my grandfather—truly effective!
The only drawback was that you had to trap the ghost first before casting it.
Without having to worry about Rachel's physical body, I could finally fight at full strength!
I ran to the bow and took my holy sword from a wooden box, then leaped forward to fight Wesley Smith.
Seeing this, Vivian also came to help.
With the holy sword's enhancement, Wesley Smith was soon severely injured.
Wesley Smith said incredulously: "This is impossible! Why is your sword so powerful?"
"An ancestral treasure of a demon-hunting family—of course it's strong!"
Wesley Smith was beaten back by us.
Just as he was about to be pierced through the heart by a sword, he looked back toward the deck.
With just one glance, I guessed what he wanted to do.
He wanted to return to Dex's body to dodge my attack!
"Do you think I'll give you that chance?"
As soon as I finished speaking, the holy sword flew from my hand and pierced through Wesley Smith' heart.
"NO!!!!"
With a shrill scream, Wesley Smith' body began to crumble and dissipate bit by bit.
He screamed in agony: "I have an immortal body! I'm not resigned to this!"
"An immortal body gained by using others' lives should have disappeared long ago."
I stepped forward and pulled out the sword.
Instantly, Wesley Smith' body completely crumbled to dust and dispersed with a gust of wind.
After he disappeared, the dark aura around Vivian also vanished—her resentment had dissipated!
Vivian began laughing, but as she laughed, she started crying.
"I've finally avenged my unborn child."
I walked up to her and gently patted her shoulder.
"You once harmed people. Even though your resentment has dissipated now, you can no longer enter the cycle of reincarnation. You'll disappear from heaven and earth just like Wesley Smith—your soul will scatter."
"I know. Your ancestor told me this years ago, but... as long as I could get revenge, I didn't care."
I sighed: "What my ancestor promised you, I've helped him fulfill. Now that your wish is complete, go."
"Freya, thank you."
Vivian's body began to gradually become transparent until she completely disappeared before my eyes.
The dark clouds began to disperse, the sky regained its brightness, the lake water became clear, and the scenery along the shores gradually became visible again.
I turned and walked back to the crowd.
Everyone had watched quite a show and now looked at me in amazement.
Marcus even came up to me: "Freya, you were working with the ghost?"
I ignored him and walked straight toward Dex and Rachel.
