Zephyra completely lost it.
She rushed at me and tackled me to the ground, ready to beat the crap out of me.
I just laughed coldly.
"This is between my husband and me. Why are you getting so worked upIt's not your business?"
"We grew up together—I'm his sister!" Zephyra snarled.
I smirked. "The kind that sleeps with him?"
"Fuck!"
"You've got a dirty mind, not mine!"
While she was stunned by my comeback, I threw a punch right back at her.
Clean, precise, and hard.
Zephyra thought she was tough because she'd taken some karate classes, but it was all for show. She had no idea I actually knew how to fight.
Caelum saw what was happening and started freaking out.
"Serapha, stop it!"
"Don't hurt Zephyra..."
He watched me grab Zephyra by the throat, squeezing tight. Her face was turning purple as she gasped for air.
Caelum panicked and grabbed a ceramic vase from nearby, smashed it right into my head.
The room erupted in chaos and screaming.
"Oh my God! There's so much blood!"
"Call 911!"
Warm liquid ran down the side of my face, and everything started going blurry. All I could hear was noise.
Caelum's shaky voice called out.
"Honey, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."
"I was scared you'd go too far and kill her..."
"I already called 911!"
As I passed out, I'm sure I had this bitter smile on my face.
Look at that—my wonderful husband.
Protecting his childhood sweetheart by smashing a vase over my head.
When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed with my head pounding like someone was jackhammering inside my skull.
"Serapha, don't move around."
"You just got like fifteen stitches..."
I closed my eyes and let out a bitter laugh.
"Did you sign the divorce papers?"
"When I get out of here, we're going straight to the courthouse."
Caelum stopped crying instantly.
"You're still thinking about divorce?"
He stared at me in disbelief, tears dripping onto my hand.
"Serapha, I love you so much. The second I saw you were hurt, I called the ambulance. What's gotten into you?"
I couldn't help but laugh.
"You love me? So you showed it by cracking a vase over my head?"
If that's love, I'd rather he loved someone else.
My question caught Caelum off guard.
He scrambled to explain.
"Serapha, I panicked! You were acting crazy back then, choking Zephyra like that—you scared the hell out of us."
"You know our families have been neighbors for decades. Zephyra and I grew up together."
"She was just trying to help us work things out. How could you say stuff like that?"
"Enough!"
I cut Caelum off coldly. "I don't care what your excuse is. I don't care. We're done."
Even Vicent and Moria, who'd been eavesdropping by the door, looked shocked by how final I sounded.
They couldn't believe I was this determined, then they rushed in.
"Serapha, you're not usually this ruthless. Just tell us the truth—did Caelum do something to upset you?"
Vicent was pretending to be my side.
But it was all for show.
Before I could answer, he changed his tune.
"Or is there some side piece outside?"
"Sweetheart, you just had a cute baby. Don't let some guy hook you and ruin your whole life."
Moria looked annoyed.
She jumped in to help convince me.
"Yeah, couples fight all the time.Don't be such a drama queen."
"Don’t be so petty."
"If everyone acted like you and threatened divorce every five minutes, how would any marriage work?"
Caelum was being more patient than usual, holding my hand and speaking softly.
"Honey, what's really going on? Just tell me and I’ll make it up to you."
"You're so set on this divorce—are you... suspicious about something?"
There was panic and nervousness in his careful look.
But the tears kept falling.
"Whatever's wrong, I'll stick by you no matter what. Don't worry."
I stared at him with no expression.
All these years together, whenever I saw him cry, I'd compromised immediately.
Whatever he wanted, I'd give him.
He wanted a room just for his art studio? Fine.
He put up a sign on his studio door that said "Serapha Keeps Out."
I just let it slide.
But now? I was done putting up with it!
"There's nothing to talk, Caelum. I don't love you anymore."
Caelum looked like he'd been hit by lightning, his whole body shaking.
"What did you just say?"
"Serapha, don't forget we have a baby!"
Caelum couldn't handle it, his chest heaving up and down.
Seeing how far things had gone, Vicent snorted impatiently.
"Fine, Serapha. You brought this up."
"When you get divorced, you'll walk away with nothing. Absolutely nothing!"
