The moment those words left my lips, fire raced through my veins.
Ryan's cool tattoo ink spilled over my skin—icy relief against the heat burning beneath. The shock of opposites colliding stole my breath, drawing a soft gasp from me.
His mood shifted instantly, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth as he arched a brow. Without a word, he motioned for me to turn over.
"Lower back first," he said, all business. "We'll outline, then lay down the base colors."
I barely had time to process before his hands flipped me onto my stomach. His arm locked across me, pressing my face hard into the table. Darkness swallowed me whole.
Blind, every sensation sharpened—the hum of the needle, the heat of his touch. His free hand roamed under the guise of checking my skin, kneading, shaping, teasing.
"Perfect texture, Ms. Anderson," he murmured, voice rough under the shower's steady rush. "You take ink beautifully."
Sophia's off-key singing from the bathroom sent a thrill through me.
Here I was, tangled with her boyfriend while she stood just beyond the door.
Guilt flickered—until I remembered how she'd dangled him in front of me like bait. The hesitation burned away.
Ryan noticed my distraction. His fingers grew bolder. I bit down on my lip, stifling every sound.
The sheets scraped against my knees. My arms shook from the strain.
Then—
His fist twisted in my hair, wrenching my head back. My neck arched painfully, tears welling as my body trembled.
"Ryan—" My voice broke, pleading.
It only spurred him on.
In the mirror, I watched him spread me wider.
A heartbeat later, his knees hit the mattress behind me. His pants hit the floor.
