That was three whole bottles of snow cream. Even if he wanted to use it to coax Sophie, he should have at least left a bottle for his mother.
Adeline was heartbroken at the thought of all those bottles of snow cream being given away without her using any of them.
Adeline knew that Caleb liked Sophie, but she didn't expect that before they even got married, he would secretly help an outsider deceive his own mother.
Adeline was angry, but she couldn't stay mad because he was her son.
She said, "I didn't expect it to be that boy. Thanks to Your Highness. Now that the matter is clear, please leave the rest to us. Rest assured, I will teach that boy a good lesson."
Nolan glanced at her, a faint smile playing on his lips. "And how do you plan to do that?"
Adeline, who couldn't bear to hit her son, could only suggest, "How about grounding him at the cemetery as punishment?"
Nolan agreed unexpectedly, "Sure."
Adeline instantly smiled with delight. As she had thought, even the Prince Regent wouldn't disrespect Dale. Additionally, she had the Duke backing her up.
While Adeline was feeling smug, she didn't notice that Dale, who was standing aside, hadn't said a word since the beginning.
He knew that if Nolan would let this matter go easily, he wouldn't have brought the Black Flag Army to the manor himself.
As expected, Nolan said indifferently, "Ground him for half a month. That should be enough for Caleb to reflect on his actions."
"Half a month?" Adeline's voice suddenly rose, becoming extremely sharp.
"How can such a long time be acceptable?" she glared with her eyes wide.
She was afraid that Caleb wouldn't be able to take it.
A faint smile appeared on Nolan's handsome face. He spoke as if he didn't understand Adeline's words, and said deliberately, "It seems that you think the punishment is too short. In that case, I'll add another half a month. Ground Caleb in the cemetery for a whole month."
"What?" Adeline almost fainted. In a fit of anger, she blurted out, "Prince Regent, do you have to go out of your way to harm Caleb for a bitch?"
"Adeline!" Dale finally couldn't bear it anymore. He pulled Adeline over and said sharply before Nolan could get angry, "Apologize to the Prince Regent now!"
"Why should I apologize?" Adeline was so angry that she lost her mind.
She had always been pampered, and had never suffered so much grievance as she had in recent times.
She was the daughter of the previous Duke, and her son was the heir of the Marquis.
Even if Nolan was the Prince Regent, she felt that he couldn't bully her and her son like this.
Adeline asked, "My son is my own responsibility. How dare you punish him so severely, Your Highness?"
Nolan answered, "Just because you slandered the Holy Lady, and Caleb framed her."
Dale was a government official with real power, and he had been in the officialdom for many years, so he could see what was going on/
Adeline had a problem with Eliza, but if Caleb had admitted to stealing the thing in the first place, the matter would not have come to this.
So it was true that Caleb had framed Eliza.
Adeline was still stubborn. "What does this have to do with Caleb? It was Eliza's improper conduct that caused all these misunderstandings. If she had been innocent, who would have suspected her for no reason?"
In her opinion, Caleb was naturally good in every way, while Eliza had never been anything good.
"What are you doing? Let go of me. Father! Mother! Come and save your son! There's a bunch of unreasonable thugs here!" Hearing Caleb's voice, Adeline turned her head and saw that Caleb had been captured by Black Flag Army.
"Caleb! Let him go! Let him go!" Adeline's face changed, and she immediately rushed to save Caleb.
But someone stopped her. "Be careful, Mrs. Nevill. Swords are dangerous."
Ross pulled out the saber from his waist and thrust it into the slate at his feet with a swoosh. The sharpness startled Adeline.
"What... what are you doing? This is the Marquis's estate!" Dale hurriedly said to Nolan, "Your Highness, my wife and son are guilty, but their crimes are not worthy of death!"
Nolan glared at him coldly, "You think their crimes are not worthy of death, but have you ever thought about the innocent girl who has been bullied, humiliated, and framed by your wife and son time and time again? If she were any weaker, she would have killed herself by now."
Dale opened his mouth but couldn't utter a word in rebuttal. It was all his fault.
If he had disciplined his family, if he had shown a little more care for Eliza, things woudln't have turned out this way.
Finally, Dale gave a wry smile. "Your Highness... for my sake, please give my wife and child a chance. Whatever your conditions are, I will agree to them."
"I have no requests. Do I need to remind you who their victim is?" Dale immediately understood what Nolan meant.
He closed his eyes and cupped his hands in salute. "Thank you for your guidance, Your Highness. I will give that child a good explanation."
Nolan added, "If she forgives you, the punishment will be reduced from one month to half a month. If she refuses to forgive you, then the punishment will be doubled."
Dale thought, 'How can Dale bear it if it's doubled again?'
After Nolan led the Black Flag Army away, Dale looked at his wife and son and said helplessly, "Caleb will go to the cemetery tonight. Tomorrow, you and Mother will go to Saint Grace Nunnery with me to apologize to the Holy Lady."
When Adeline heard this, she opened her mouth to retort.
But before she could speak, a voice came from the gate of Marquis's estate. "Apologize to whom?"
Gabriel arrived late in his carriage, and unexpectedly heard Dale's words as soon as he arrived.
