‘You’re the greatest shame of my life…’
‘We are strangers now. I never want to see you again.’
Those words haunted her, even though she tried so hard not to think about them. They had branded into her soul the moment they left Selene’s lips.
Yes, she was wrong for drugging Lylah—but they didn’t even care to listen to her. Especially the woman she looked up to the most.
Those grey eyes had never stared at her with so much hate. And it...
Hurt.
“What are you thinking about?” Toran’s raspy voice drew her out of her thoughts. She looked up at him as he stroked her blonde hair.
She was clad in nothing but a tiny piece of fabric, straddling his bare chest.
“Why do you hate Arianna so much?” she asked, and he stopped stroking.
“Is that even a question?” he raised a brow.
“Yes, it is. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have asked,” she shot back.
Without warning, he yanked her by the hair, tilting her head with force.
Brigid yelped in pain as Toran hovered over her and began kissing her neck.
The pain was forgotten; all she could feel was pleasure of his hot breath ghosting over her skin.
“Her whole existence makes me so fucking mad, Brigid,” he whispered, and Brigid shut her eyes, listening.
“If she didn’t exist, my sister would be the Queen right now. My father would be respected, top among all the Alphas. We’d have lands—vast ones. And since the King's mind was sick at that time, we’d have had his ear too. But everything was destroyed when she came into the picture… she is a venom.”
She gasped as he grazed his teeth on her neck—hard enough to live hickey—and then used his tongue to soothe that same spot, sending shivers down her spine.
“She destroyed everything, Fairy. It's only right I destroy her too. Everyone she loves. Her sister, her friends, and most especially, the King. And—” he paused, looking down at her flushed face with hooded eyes. “The head maid as well.”
That made Brigid snap. She flipped him over and clamped her hands around his neck, choking him. He laughed at her reaction.
“Touch her and you die,” she growled. “She has nothing to do with this.”
“Oh really?” Toran’s lips curled into a dangerous smirk, and with ease, he flipped her over, regaining dominance.
This time, he pinned her chest against the bed, trapping both her hands behind her back and locking her legs between his.
“Why did she choose her over you, then?” he asked, and she froze.
Brigid’s eyes dilated, but she shut them and hissed. “She’s simply confused. She’ll come to her senses if I talk to her again, alright? So leave her be!”
“Didn’t you say she never wanted to see you again?”
“She didn’t mean that! She loves me as her own daughter. She would never abandon me for Arianna! She took me in when I was a kid after I lost my parents. Despite being strict and cold to the others, she showed me love and care. Don’t say shit about her, Toran. Don’t cross the fucking line,” she warned, glaring at him over her shoulder.
Toran's grin widened mischievously. “You see, that is one thing I love about you, Fairy,” he said as he reached for her waist, pulling down her skirt. Everything about his female made him so damn hard.
“Your obsession,” Toran continued. “First, it was the Grand Lord. You wanted to do anything to get that male.”
She let out a whimper as he slid the piece of fabric away completely, leaving her ass bare before him.
“And now you’re obsessed with a woman whose motherly care has already been stolen from you.”
“Shut up!” she yelled, and the hand holding her wrists was replaced by one pinning her head to the bed instead—his grip strong. One wrong move could break her neck.
“Do you know another thing you're obsessed with, Fairy?” He leaned close to her ear, brushing his tongue along its edge. “My dick.”
“No,” she rasped.
“Liar.” He spankrd her ass and slipped a finger into her slick, wet folds and relished the way she cried out.
“Soaked already, despite being fucked an hour ago. You’re a slut, Fairy. My little, pretty slut. And for lying to my face, I’ll make you beg.”
She shut her eyes, fists clenching, but moans still slipped freely from her lips. Her back arched, giving him perfect access as his finger fucked her deep.
“We are both the same, Brigid. The things we were obsessed with got stolen, and it messed with our minds. It’s only fair we bring fire to them. It wasn’t part of my plan to be obsessed with you,” his gaze grew more dangerous as he whispered while adding another finger.
“I’ll give you the better life you never imagined. I'll make people searve you, and cower before you,” he increased his pace in between her legs, watching her eyes rolled over and pretty lips parted in silent scream.
"I'll mark you, and bury my seed deep inside and make you bare my children."
he said, adding another finger and shoving deeper.
“Oh Gawd! Master!”

Before the sun set, Toran was summoned. He stepped into a room, finding Valoreth seated and staring at the fire in the fireplace.
The male seemed deep in thought, expression devoid of emotion as he stared.
Among the four Lords, this male was the most unpredictable.
Valoreth did not rule with brute force like Toran, nor did he favor political strings like the others. His silence was often mistaken for peace… which is why Toran met him first after discovering Arianna’s bloodline.
“Lord Damaris is on our side. As for Merek and Atheon, I still need them to see it from our point of view—but with or without their help, nothing can stop us,” the regal male spoke.
“I heard Lord Atheon wants us to leave his domain,” Toran said.
“And that we will do. That ancient male has no idea what that war took from many. He hasn’t seen the terror it could bring. Atheon’s late father wouldn’t have hesitated to take my side. And Lord Merek is simply holding back since he is the King’s father’s closest friend. He sees Duncan as his son,” Valoreth mumbled.
A beat of silence.
“The full moon is close. In five days, to be precise.” Valoreth finally averted his gaze from the fire and settled it on Toran.
Toran’s eyes dilated, feeling his bones stiffen.
Come on, Toran. You’ve set your mind to this. There’s no going back.
“They’ll be here soon. I’ve sent men to prepare everything.” Valoreth looked at him. “You’re still going to do it, right?” he asked, and Toran’s throat tightened.
“Yes.” That word struggled to come from his heart, and as Valoreth noticed, he rose from his chair.
“I thought you've prepared your heart. I gave you time. You’re not the only one about to lose something in this. If we don’t act fast—knowing what kind of male Duncan is—he’ll convince the realm with time. And when he does, all of this… the trouble, the sacrifice, the hope… will be for nothing.”
Valoreth began to approach him. “So while the chaos in the realm grows, we strike while we still have the advantage.” Placing a hand on his shoulder, he added, “This is pretty hard for me, Toran. Really hard. I’m going to lose a whole lot of shit. But when the time comes, it’s going to be worth it.”
Toran nodded, clenching his jaw. “I’ll do it,” he said, determination burning in his gaze. “As long as I get my legacy back. That is all that matters.”
Valoreth’s lips curled into a dark smirk. “Good. I’ll make sure you get more than that.”
Toran met his gaze, his eyes equally devious.
“You’re about to go higher than you think, Toran. This is for the sake of the realm.”
Toran clicked his tongue before echoing,
“For the sake of the realm.”
