“Aria,” Lylah whispered, going to sit beside her. “Are you alright?”
Arianna shook her head.
“No... No I am not alright. I still can’t believe all these years have passed,” Arianna whispered, then looked at her. “And you’ve… changed a lot. I… I’m so overwhelmed.”
“I’ll explain everything,” she said, offering a hand one Arianna took with a small smile.
•
After the explanation, Arianna stayed quiet for a long time. So many things had happened in what she had thought was a short while.
So many twists and chaos. New lives, new leaders. A world she no longer recognized, yet still belonged to. A world that had changed without her.
Arianna stared into the fading sun, her fingers still gently locked with Lylah’s. She could feel the warmth, the heartbeat of her sister, but her own felt faint, distant, buried beneath the weight of everything.
It was hard to think of anything. The marks on her sister were a clear sign of her hardship.
And then...
"What's his name?"
"Rheal. And he is so adorable."
Tears traced a slow path down Arianna's cheek.
"He cherishes you. And I’m sure he can’t wait to see his mother."
"I can’t wait to see him too," she whispered. "I just hope he didn’t witness me killing thousands of men."
"He was far away. But he’s back now," Lylah said, shifting her gaze to the half-destroyed field. "What you did was truly incredible. You saved this realm twice."
"No. You saved the realm this time. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you and I’m sorry Lily tried to hurt you. I’m sorry you had to go through that hardship. By the gods, there are so many things I need to apologize for..."
"It wasn’t your fault," Lylah cut in. "Fate just had to play its role. Every mistake led us to where we are now. Every death, pain, sorrow, scar, suffering, laugh, dream, love, and pleasure happened for a reason. What matters now is that we are here for each other."
Arianna gave her a small smile. Her little sister had grown so much, matured in every way.
After spending enough time to steady their emotions, they finally started heading down.
But Arianna froze at the small figure ahead. A boy, just like the faceless child in her illusion, was standing and staring.
The connection spiraled through her nerves immediately. It was him.
Her son.
Arianna approached with slow, careful steps, her heart pounding with each one.
"Rheal..."
The boy stood still, unmoving, not blinking once as if afraid she might disappear again.
Clad in a brown tunic with a scarf around his neck, his features and eyes were a mix of hers and her mate’s. Mostly Duncan’s.
"Rheal," she whispered again, her voice shaky.
Finally, he took a step. Then another.
And then he ran toward her. Arianna crouched with a sob, letting her son crash into her arms with full force.
She hugged him almost too tightly, and he did the same, beginning to cry.
"Mom."
Oh heavens.
How much she had wanted to hear that word. How much she had hoped she hadn't lost him.
"Son," she croaked, stroking his hair.
"I... Is it really you? In the crystal?" His tiny voice broke her.
She wondered how many times her son had stared at her, praying to the gods she would come out.
"Yes, it's me. Your mother... I'm sorry it took this long."
Lylah stood nearby, watching the mother and son in each other’s arms for the first time.

MOON REALM
Almost every region, almost every pack, almost every household... the word chaos had taken its toll.
It had been seven years since the new leadership began, and everything seemed to have gone wrong.
War between packs had not stopped. Blood stained every corner of the land. Even rogues now walked freely among the people, haunting them and stealing their resources.
Daughters were dragged out and ràped in front of their parents, who wept helplessly at their screams. Mates were separated, forced to watch each other suffer.
Children were cast aside, begging on the streets. Some were sold for golden coins, which might end up stolen before they even reached home.
The arena was no longer limited to the Citadel. Illegal fighting rings were built in hidden places.
Men fought to the dèath. Cörpses on the streets were no longer a surprise.
At the inn, especially on the full moon. Sick kinks were generated among some devoius hidden groups.
Women being brutally mounted by more than one men. They no longer do it for pleasure, they do it to hurt the female--most were unlucky, they don't survive after the brûtality.
And even if they do, there will be traumatized forever.
Among the unlucky one was Diana. She didn't survive and the most cruel part was, fourteen years old Mea watched everything played on the closet she was hidden.
Making a sound, and they'll have her next. She could only sob quietly, as the men left her lifeless sister with twisted neck, broken bones and nàked body bruised with blood.
Mea shut her eyes, trembling with fear.
Someone save us.
Elise, if by any possible chance you and your husband are still alive. Please save us.
Full moons had turned from night of lôve making, nice run and haunting, to night of bloodshed and ràpe.
Fear and terror shrouded the realm.
Good turned to evil just to survive.
There was no law, even if there was, there isn't a king to make sure it stands.
The good packs were forced against their will to partake in the devious act by the rogues.
But there were ones with little power and seeing the realm this way, they decided to take action especially when a rumor spread through the realm.
The previous king--Duncan Thornevale wasn't killed by his woman they had called a devil, but the people in seat.
Arianna Greystone was innocent.
She wasn't the devil.
The devious people on seat are the real devils.
A proof was leaked out. The letter Lucas had written to Duncan talking about the Cor Triantha poison used against them.
When Elder Varyn saw this, he spread it as wide as he could.
Every soul must hear it.
That way, he was able to gather many allies. He knew this would lead to his death but he was old anyway. This might be his last honor to Arianna's father.
Then it was decided.
They'll rise a protest, demanding answers. They'll tear down the Lunaris Citedal if they have to.
King Duncan Thornevale
What ever happened to him, they needed answers.
Because he is their true king.
And he will always be!
Arianna shook her head.
“No... No I am not alright. I still can’t believe all these years have passed,” Arianna whispered, then looked at her. “And you’ve… changed a lot. I… I’m so overwhelmed.”
