Now I was here with a lawyer, clearly beyond Patrick's expectations.
He came closer, lowering his voice:
"Stop making trouble. I'll treat you really well from now on. Let's just let this all go, okay?"
I looked at him and snorted:
"Not happening. You can mess with my feelings, but messing with my money is absolutely not okay."
"When did I ever mess with your money?" He was still being stubborn.
I counted on my fingers:
"You forged signatures to take out a 5 million loan in my name."
"You also transferred assets without permission. Now this gym is just an empty shell..."
Patrick's forehead veins bulged.
He wanted to hit me.
But he held back.
"I admit, I shouldn't have forged signatures. But I owed some money I couldn't pay back, the bank wouldn't give me a loan, so I had to use your identity for online loans."
"And about transferring assets - what's that got to do with you? This gym isn't yours."
Luna chimed in sarcastically:
"You're so concerned about asset transfers - what are you, an investor?"
Seeing them both act so condescending, I laughed out loud.
When people are speechless, they really do laugh.
Reed spoke up at the right moment:
"That's right. Ms. Danning is the investor."
Hearing this, both of them froze.
The next second, they both burst out laughing.
Luna was cracking up. "Have you lost your mind? You've got some inheritance and now you think you can be CEO of Danning Group?"
Patrick shook his head, looking at me like I was hopeless.
"That's right. My Danning is the same Danning as in Danning Group." I stared directly at Luna and Patrick.
Seeing me like this, Patrick felt inexplicably panicked.
Luna was about to mock me again when she saw court officials and several police officers approaching.
The commotion here was attracting quite a few gym members to watch the show.
A court official pulled out credentials and a court summons for Patrick:
"Mr. Patrick, you're suspected of domestic violence, embezzlement, document forgery, and multiple other charges."
"This is a court summons. Please appear in court in three days."
Patrick's face went completely pale. He didn't even dare take the summons.
"No... impossible! You must be mistaken! I'm innocent!"
Luna was scared too.
She instinctively stepped back, covering her belly and shrieking:
"You can't arrest him! He's my baby's father! Did Wynne Danning pay you off?"
Hearing this, the police and court officials looked extremely displeased.
A female officer said sternly:
"Ma'am, watch your words."
"Also, regarding your malicious spreading of fake videos and defaming others' reputations, we've finished processing that case too."
"You need to come with us as well."
The gym members were whispering - what a show they'd witnessed.
Now Patrick completely lost it.
He suddenly lunged at me, trying to grab my hands.
But the accompanying police officer grabbed him.
Patrick struggled and screamed:
"Wynne! After all these years together, are you really going to send me to prison?"
I looked at him coldly.
Patrick still wouldn't give up. He actually tried to threaten and bribe me in front of the police.
"If you drop the charges, I can give you the gym."
I couldn't stop laughing.
Even now, he was still trying to scheme against me.
This gym was an empty shell with tons of debt, and he was saying he'd give it to me?
I didn't answer him, but looked at the court official.
"I won't forgive him. I want all his assets frozen to recover my losses."
"Why the hell should you touch my money? Worst case, I'll pay you back the 5 million." Patrick shouted frantically.
The official scoffed, "Five million? You've got some nerve. You transferred 80 million in assets alone. You think 5 million is enough?"
