After a whole night of brewing, things had only gotten worse.
Jamie hadn't known about it at first—he had no idea his own daughter was behind the mess.
By the time he got up that morning, Jamie's phone was practically exploding with calls.
It wasn't until his assistant explained that Jamie found out about the video from Ogilvy Steakhousehouse.
Jamie immediately opened his phone. The moment he saw the news online, his blood pressure shot through the roof.
The top ten trending topics were flooded with tags about the Sidel Group.
Not only had Perla gotten torn apart online, but the Sidel Group was getting dragged down with her.
There were waves of people online calling for a boycott of both the Sidel Group and Ogilvy Steakhouse. Even the Evans Group was feeling the fallout.
Jamie was fuming. Perla had really outdone herself this time—singlehandedly causing such a massive blow to the company.
Reporters were swarming outside the building, all trying to get an interview with him. Jamie was holed up inside, too afraid to step out.
Those reporters were relentless. They had the front entrance, underground garage, stairwells, and even the back door completely staked out.
Jamie hadn't been home for over twenty-four hours. He was so angry he couldn't think straight.
In the end, Jamie had no choice but to call his wife, hoping she could get to the bottom of it.
Jamie didn't dare call Perla himself. He was afraid she'd piss him off so badly he'd drop dead on the spot.
Only when Jamie was talking to the ever-gentle Vivian did he feel a little more grounded.
As soon as Jamie dialed, the call connected quickly.
"Vivian, where's Perla?" Jamie tried to keep his anger under control, but his tone was still ice cold.
The moment Vivian heard his tone, she knew something was wrong. She thought, 'He's calling me by my full name, and he doesn't say "sweetie" either.
'Whenever that happens, it usually means he is in a terrible mood.
'Calling both of us by our names? Something serious must've happened.'
Vivian was good at reading people. She instantly picked up on his mood and responded gently, "She's in her room. Honey, what's wrong? Did our daughter upset you?"
Jamie rubbed his temples, completely on edge. "Did you see the news today? Perla's in big trouble."
Vivian was surprised. 'What kind of trouble can Perla possibly be in?'
Vivian responded softly, "I was just doing yoga and haven't checked my phone yet. What happened with Perla? Don't get mad, honey. Just tell me what's going on."
Jamie was furious, but hearing Vivian's soft voice helped him keep from snapping completely. He explained, "She hit someone at a restaurant and cursed them out.
"The things she said were disgusting. Now the internet's going after us—people are calling for a total boycott of Sidel Group and Ogilvy Steakhousehouse.
"And who does she think she is, talking to people like that? She wouldn't be anything without us backing her up. Without us, she's nothing.
Jamie continued, "This is ridiculous! What does she even learn at school? All she talks about is mocking others for being poor. Like, just because she's rich, does that make her a goddess? Why does she act so holier-than-thou?
"I swear, if she were standing in front of me right now, I'd smack her. Her head is full of nonsense."
Vivian listened to her husband rant about their daughter.
At first, Vivian wasn't too pleased with his tone, but as he went on, she started to realize something really was off.
'Why does my daughter act like that?' Vivian wondered.
While still on the phone, Vivian opened the tablet on the table.
