Sure enough, Vivian saw the headlines about the Sidel Group. The video of Perla hitting someone in Ogilvy Steakhousehouse was the number one trending topic.
Vivian didn't even have to look at the comments—just from the tone, it was clear people were ripping Perla apart.
Even the Sidel family ancestors were getting cursed out in the replies.
Vivian said gently, "Honey, calm down. Don't let this get to your health. I'll talk to Perla and figure out what happened. You just focus on the company for now."
But Jamie wasn't calming down at all. If anything, his anger only escalated. He said, "Have you seen what she did? Is she a student or a lunatic?
"All she does is pick up the worst behavior out there. Is this what a daughter of the Sidel family is supposed to act like? What the hell did she say to people?"
Jamie was so angry, he even used the word "lunatic" to describe her.
Vivian knew he was on a rampage. It wasn't the right time to defend their daughter.
Besides, it did sound like Perla had seriously crossed the line this time.
Still, without knowing the full story, Vivian wasn't ready to say who was right or wrong.
Once she got Jamie off the phone, Vivian finally got up to go find Perla.
When she walked into her room, Perla was wiping her face.
Vivian asked, "Perla, did you hit someone yesterday?"
As she spoke, Vivian unlocked her phone and pulled up the news.
The screen lit up with the video of Perla yelling at someone inside Ogilvy Steakhousehouse yesterday afternoon.
Between the checkups and the medical bills, Perla didn't get home until almost ten.
Perla had been fuming and drained. It took three showers before she finally felt like that disgusting smell was gone.
After that, Perla passed out the moment she hit the bed. She hadn't even looked at her phone, so she had no clue the video had gone viral overnight.
Vivian continued, "You realize the Sidel Group is trending too? For all the wrong reasons."
Jamie had been furious because the Sidel Group's stock had tanked.
It hit the lowest point in three years—it was too painful to even look at.
The incident had done serious damage to the company's market value.
Online, tons of people were calling for a boycott of Ogilvy Steakhouse.
Perla finished reading everything and actually found it kind of ridiculous. She still didn't think she was in the wrong.
Then Perla told her mom exactly what had happened from start to finish.
At the end, Perla added, "You don't even know how arrogant she was.
"I already asked someone to pull the security footage—it shows her throwing food at me. Once that's out, those keyboard warriors will shut up for sure."
Vivian listened with her brows knitted tight, her expression turning grim. 'So Perla did all this to stand up for Meredith?'
Perla said, "Mom, don't be fooled by that chopped-up video. I was sticking up for my friend. These brain-dead people online are just bored out of their minds, commenting without even knowing what happened. Idiots."
Vivian had heard enough. 'My daughter has been completely spoiled. Even now, Perla doesn't see she's done anything wrong,' she thought.
Vivian said seriously, "You still don't get it, do you? Whatever's going on with the Bradford family, it has nothing to do with you.
"Even if Meredith was really being mistreated, she had her parents to stand up for her. You and those so-called friends had no right to get involved, especially when you didn't even know the full story."
Only now did Vivian realize just how off her daughter's thinking had become.
Vivian had seen those online comments—they were beyond cruel.
If she didn't have a tough mind, Vivian might've passed out right then and there.
Hearing her mom's criticism, Perla cried, tears pouring down. She muttered, 'I can't believe Mom is blaming me for this. This is all Arielle's fault.'
