So Arielle quietly worked hard where no one could see.
She couldn't dance? She used her allowance to hire a teacher. Couldn't paint? She studied.
Over three years, Arielle mastered everything a wealthy young lady was supposed to know—music, calligraphy, painting.
All Arielle wanted was a single word of praise from her parents.
Instead, they gave Arielle nothing but coldness. Called her pathetic for trying to imitate Meredith, said she looked ridiculous.
With nowhere to vent her frustration, Arielle turned to combat training and self-defense. Tried to toughen up.
Even if she'd grown up in a slum, Arielle had her pride. But all she ever got from them was indifference, mockery, cruelty, and destruction.
A sneer curled on Arielle's lips. She said flatly, "Then let her die. Ms. Bradford, you sure talk a lot.
"Instead of wasting breath on me, why not go take care of Mr. Bradford and your precious daughter? You're not young anymore. Staying up too late could kill you."
With that, Arielle turned and walked away, not even sparing Sharon another glance.
Sharon was beyond furious. All that pent-up rage had nowhere to go, and Arielle had just handed her a target.
The next moment, Sharon lunged forward, grabbing Arielle's shoulder, trying to yank her back and slap her across the face.
But Arielle moved lightning fast. She grabbed Sharon's wrist and said coldly, "You gave birth to me but didn't raise me.
"You abandoned me, and now you want to hit me? Go ahead. Try it. Lay a finger on me and I swear I'll slap Meredith ten times harder. I'll make sure you pay tenfold."
With a hard shove, Arielle punched Sharon right in the chest. It was the first time she'd ever struck her own mother.
Sharon staggered backward several steps, nearly falling. Her chest ached, tight and painful.
"You dare?" Sharon screamed. "I swear I'll kill you!"
"Try me. See who kills who," Arielle shot back, unflinching.
Arielle met Sharon's bloodshot eyes with a taunting smirk, then turned and walked out of the dining room.
Sharon pointed at Arielle's back, trembling with rage, but couldn't form a single word.
In the next second, Sharon slammed both bowls on the table to the floor.
The living room rang out with the sharp clatter of breaking porcelain and Sharon's furious yelling.
Sharon thought, ' It must be my imagination. Arielle can't possibly have said something so rebellious. Calm down.'
Sharon forced herself to breathe deeply, trying to calm down. It felt like the whole scene had been some bizarre dream.
Once things finally quieted down, Lexi stepped out from the corner and went over to help Sharon up.
Less than two days before school started, Arielle received an unexpected invitation from Samson.
Arielle thought their deal was already done—she never expected him to reach out again.
But when she arrived at Cloud Nine, Arielle found out Samson had come specifically to thank her.
Samson said Arielle didn't just help him catch his enemy—she helped him find a goldmine.
Samson recounted what happened that day excitedly. "That bastard hid everything well. Turns out, there was a massive armory inside that villa.
"It was a huge stash—we hit the jackpot. Miss Bradford, you've got some serious credit for this. So, what do you want? Name it."
Samson was in such high spirits. Even someone as seasoned as he was had been shocked by the sheer scale of that underground stockpile.
Missiles, weapons, body armor—there were even two advanced armored vehicles there.
Samson couldn't help but remember how Arielle had warned him last time—told him not to underestimate the enemy and to bring more people.
At the time, Samso thought Arielle was overreacting. With his power, how could he not take down a guy like Glenn?
But in the end, Samson took her advice. Sent in a small team first as a distraction, then launched a final strike and wiped out Glenn completely.
Arielle waved him off. "Our deal's done. I got what I wanted. Just think of it as me making a friend. If I ever need help in the future, I won't be shy about it."
Yes, Arielle would definitely need Samson's help someday—especially with the place that had tortured her to death in her old life.
In this life, Arielle was living for revenge. And those people—she'd never let them off easy.
