At the corner of the first floor, Arielle had just lifted her foot to continue upstairs when she glimpsed something hurtling down toward her.
Her head snapped up. A massive snake, as thick as a man's wrist and covered in vivid patterns, flicked its crimson forked tongue, baring its fangs, its muscular body coiling as it slithered straight for her.
Meanwhile, a few heads peeked out stealthily from the second-floor stairwell.
Their eyes sparkled with anticipation and mischief.
One of the boys muttered under his breath, unable to hide his excitement, "Come on, Flower! Wrap her up tight, make this bitch embarrass herself in front of everyone. Move it!"
The other boys kept their eyes glued to the scene below.
A wicked glint flashed in their eyes.
As the snake slithered toward Arielle, snickers of schadenfreude erupted from above.
The snickers that had just begun were abruptly cut short.
Frederick stared at the empty stairwell corner, then whirled around and demanded, "Where the hell is Flower?"
Dominic Tate and the others looked utterly bewildered.
In the blink of an eye, the snake had vanished.
Meanwhile, Arielle remained perfectly composed, ascending the stairs one calm step at a time.
The second-floor hallway was packed with curious onlookers, all looking completely baffled by the commotion.
"Did Flower run downstairs?" someone whispered.
"Shit! She can't go down there! If she's discovered, I'm screwed!" Frederick blurted out, already bolting toward the stairs.
As he spoke, Frederick made a move for the staircase.
Dominic grabbed his arm. "Wait, she's coming up. We'll look for her together in a minute."
He felt that Flower wouldn't just wander off. Dominic had spread the pheromones on both the first and second floors, so she should only be in this area.
If she really got away and ended up scaring or biting another student, the consequences would be disastrous.
The more Frederick thought about it, the more terrified he became.
"I was just trying to help out, not actually hurt anyone…" Frederick told himself, panic rising.
At that moment, Arielle appeared, completely unfazed.
Dominic's face fell in disappointment.
Under his breath, he muttered, "Lucky bitch."
He couldn't accept this.
After all that effort convincing Frederick to release the snake for his crush, it failed at the crucial moment.
Furious, he kicked one of his sidekicks hard.
He snarled, "Did you mess up the snake lure or something? Can't even handle a simple job!"
The guy who got kicked was clearly frustrated but didn't dare show it.
He quickly defended himself.
"Boss, I swear my medicine's fine! Maybe... maybe Flower just got sidetracked by something else," he stammered.
Dominic shot him a glare and snapped, "Shut the hell up! You made me lose face in front of my crush this time. Just wait till I teach you a lesson!"
They spoke in hushed tones.
But Arielle caught every word.
Arielle clasped her hands behind her back and moved toward Dominic and the other boy with deliberate, unhurried steps.
A faint smile graced her lips, yet that very smile sent an unmistakable chill down their spines.
yet that very smile sent an unmistakable chill down their spines.
Dominic and his sidekick watched as Arielle drew closer, step by step.
An inexplicable dread crept into their hearts.
They thought, 'That isn't a smile at all, it is the twisted grin of a demon!'
Just as Dominic was about to open his mouth to question her, Arielle had already closed in on them.
The distance between them was so close, he could practically feel her breath.
He could even catch the faint, refreshing fragrance wafting from her.
'Holy shit, she actually smells amazing!' Dominic thought.
Just as Dominic was brooding over his impure thoughts, suddenly, Arielle raised both hands, her arms tracing a swift arc through the air, reaching right over the heads of Dominic and his sidekick. Arielle raised both hands, her arms tracing a swift arc through the air,
By the time the two realized what was happening, a brilliantly colored snake was already coiled around their necks.
