Originally, they planned to have Dominic scare Arielle with a snake, let it wrap around her for a bit, or maybe even bite her.
After she was scared out of her wits, then when she returned to the classroom and saw a desk covered with rats, she'd probably be scared to death.
Even if it didn't kill her, she'd have nightmares every night.
Just the thought of punishing Arielle made them giddy with delight.
Unexpectedly, both attempts ended in failure.
'Does Arielle have some special ability or something?' Meredith couldn't help but wonder.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Meredith's eyes.
She thought, 'I thought I'd get to see a good show. She'd never suspect it was me, since we're all the way in Class Three. But in the end, nothing happened. Damn it. She got away again.'
"Thank goodness Arielle's okay," Meredith said with feigned relief, placing a hand over her heart.
Perla patted Meredith on the shoulder.
"Come on, Meredith, don't go soft on her. We're all doing this to get justice for you, so you can't show her any kindness," she urged.
Samantha Noble crossed her arms, fuming. "Damn it! How could someone like her possibly deserve to be the Bradford heiress? Just because she's in the family now doesn't mean she's really one of us. Meredith, remember, never show mercy to your enemies."
Mya Evans sneered and chimed in, "I heard Dominic and that boy were so terrified they had to be hospitalized, they won't be back for a while. Do you think Dominic's parents will come after Arielle for this?"
The girls kept badmouthing Arielle.
'Why does she look so confident and dazzling now, without a hint of that poor, pitiful vibe she used to have?' they thought bitterly, jealousy simmering beneath the surface.
That only made Perla and the others even more annoyed.
After school, the hot pink sports car appeared at the school gates again, causing quite a stir.
Students from Class 1 and Meredith's clique all stared intently at the flashy car.
With their phones ready to record, and footage from this morning in hand, they were set to post about Arielle being a sugar baby on the school forum that night.
"Her sugar daddy picks her up every day, must be 'true love'," one girl snickered.
Another sneered, "No wonder she dresses so provocatively. She's just a kid and already playing mistress for some rich guy."
"Hey, sis, I am here to pick you up," Vanna called out warmly as she stepped out of the car and waved at Arielle.
Arielle studied the woman for a moment, making sure it was really Vanna before walking over.
Vanna was now dressed casually, with just light makeup, a complete opposite to her usual glamorous look with bold lipstick and big curls.
Even Arielle barely recognized her.
She'd never seen Vanna like this before.
Arielle called out tentatively, "Vanna?"
"I will take you to get dinner first, then we'll head home together, how about that?" she smiled tenderly, every bit the warm and caring older sister.
Arielle still wasn't used to Vanna's sudden change in style and demeanor. 'What's she really up to?' she wondered, unable to figure out Vanna's intentions.
She just nodded and replied quietly, "Okay."
Arielle got in the car.
In the blink of an eye, all that was left was a flashy pink blur speeding away.
Perla and the others exchanged glances.
"Wait, where did she get a sister from?" Perla asked, turning to Meredith.
Meredith was just as confused. Arielle grew up in the slums, there was no way she could know someone that rich.
Judging by how chummy they looked, it seemed like they'd known each other for ages.
She thought, 'No wonder she's got the guts to stand up to my parents at home.'
Perla asked, "Damn it! All that filming was a waste. I thought I could use it to drag her through the mud, but turns out she's not being kept by some guy after all.
"Wait, do any of you know who that woman is? I sure don't. Driving a luxury sports car like that. She must be a big deal."
The girls returned in bitter disappointment.
Vanna had come today specifically to back Arielle up.
She knew a bit about Arielle's situation in the Bradford family. Maybe her maternal instincts were kicking in, or perhaps it had something to do with Eve, but she just couldn't stand to see her wronged.
