At a nearby table, James and his crew were also watching the commotion downstairs.
Someone gloated, "This time she won't get away with it so easily.
"The guy leading them is Jack Snyder, that punk and his gang love picking on disadvantaged students. Now that a girl's beaten him up, just watch, he's definitely not going to let this slide."
One of the sidekicks leaned in and said, "James, she's not just some girl, she's a total beast!
"She probably doesn't even know who Jack is. With you as number one and Jack as number two, the two toughest in Peterborough, and she still dares to mess with both of you? She must have a death wish!"
Jack just loves picking on poor kids. Who do you think's gonna win?"
"Is that even a question? Five on one, she's totally gonna get her ass kicked."
James' sidekicks behind him were muttering among themselves, exchanging smug looks.
But the instant James shot them a warning glare, they all immediately clammed up.
James strode downstairs, his crew close behind.
When Jack realized the girl in front of him was Arielle, he didn't flinch, instead, excitement surged through him.
He thought, 'So this is the reigning queen of Peterborough. Time to see what this chick can do.'
Noticing she was alone, Jack smirked to himself. 'Perfect. This is my chance.'
Jack swaggered in his seat, cockily shaking his leg and shooting her a sideways glance. "Nobody else says I'm loud, just you. That proves it's your problem. If you can't handle it, then get the hell out. But you hit us today, so you'd better give us an explanation."
Seeing their boss step up, the rest of the crew immediately backed him up, taking a defiant stance as they refused to back down.
They surrounded Arielle, boxing her in, while some began pushing bystanders away to clear the area, if a brawl broke out, they didn't want any innocents caught in the crossfire.
Worried that Arielle might get hurt, Andrew quickly stepped in front of her. "This all started because of me. Take it out on me, leave the innocent out of this."
Then, glancing sideways, Andrew whispered under his breath to her, "Miss, get out of here."
Jack and his crew burst into mocking laughter. "Andrew, never thought you'd play the knight! Take a good look at yourself in the mirror, do you really think you're worthy?"
"Jack, cut the crap. Let's take both of them down and show 'em who's boss. We didn't take those hits for nothing!"
Jack wiped his hair, his fingers coming away greasy. Rage surged through him.
Without warning, he swung at her. "You filthy bitch! I'll teach you some manners today. How dare you..."
The sharp crack of a slap echoed through the air.
An icy tension froze the room instantly.
"You little bitch! How dare you hit me?" he roared, then lashed out at her again with brute force.
But Arielle clamped down on his hand with a vice-like grip, stopping him cold.
Despite her petite frame, her strength was terrifying.
"Let go!" Jack yelped in pain, his hand going numb.
'Where the hell did this girl get such strength?' he thought, feeling like his wrist might snap in two.
Arielle's gaze was glacial, colder than winter.
"Your foul mouth is stinking up the place," she spat.
Seeing their boss being overpowered, the rest of the gang immediately moved in to swarm her.
Before they could attack, Arielle raised her hand, her voice icy. "If you want a fight, bring it on. But if any of you end up injured, don't expect me to take responsibility."
Jack let out an infuriated laugh. "What a damn big talker! Get her!"
With that, all five of them lunged at her simultaneously.
Seeing this, the other students in the cafeteria immediately gave them a wide berth.
In under two minutes, all five men were down.
Arielle cast one last icy glare at the five sprawled on the ground. "If I catch you bullying anyone again," she warned coldly, "I'll beat you up again. Got it?"
With one last icy glance at the fallen boys, she turned on her heel and strode out of the cafeteria.
Andrew wanted to thank her, but all he saw was Arielle's retreating figure.
