She added, "My only condition is that she must never surface in Haskium. Anywhere else is fine. Preferably, give her some... special treatment before shipping her off to North Iugra."
Finally, Melinda's tone turned even colder. "Remember, she's not to die too easily. Make her pay."
"Don't worry, Melinda. I've got this covered," he assured her confidently.
After hanging up, Melinda took a deep breath to compose herself.
With a practiced smile plastered on her face, she walked out of the room.
'Today couldn't be more perfect!' Melinda thought, her mood soaring.
Without hesitation, she went downstairs and promptly left the mansion with William.
After they left, Sally also left the villa with the driver.
She was heading home to have the servants pack a few changes of clothes. She planned to stay at her son's place for a few more days.
'I need to keep an eye on the young couple every day so they'll give me a grandchild soon,' she thought.
Without her supervision, her son would just slip away again.
It was March 18th. A day that held dark significance.
Meanwhile.
Today, the school was holding exams, with Sandolorian scheduled for the morning.
Arielle immediately requested leave.
John was hesitant at first, but recalling Arielle's unconventional ways, he sighed inwardly, 'Fine, I'll let her go.'
Besides, her uncle had even called personally to vouch for her.
After leaving school, Arielle headed straight for the area around Melinda's villa.
It was from Eve's earlier descriptions that she learned Eve had been locked up in the villa's basement by Melinda.
On March 18th, Melinda would take Eve out and sell her on the black market.
Arielle thought, 'I was going to wait at the black market, But something unexpected might happen.'
'Better to monitor the source directly.'
Arielle wasn't taking any chances, she had a backup plan.
She would keep a close eye on both Melinda's villa and the black market.
Samson had assigned her a team, all at her disposal.
Now, a dozen or so operatives were lying in wait outside the villa.
She had just seen Melinda and William leave the villa.
Then, Sally left as well.
Now, apart from the usual bodyguards and servants, there was no one else in the villa.
'What are my chances if I storm in right now to rescue her?' Arielle wondered.
She had no idea.
Without knowing the layout of Melinda's villa, she wouldn't risk tipping them off by acting rashly.
She'd give it one more hour. If Eve still didn't show up, Arielle thought, 'I'll charge in with my men.
'Today might just be my best chance yet.'
She didn't have to wait long.
A black van pulled up outside Melinda's villa.
Three men got out.
The bodyguards inside immediately escorted the three men straight into the villa.
Arielle's gaze sharpened with sudden realization.
She wondered, 'Did Melinda deliberately send William away so someone else could take Eve?
'This seems entirely possible.'
According to Eve, it was Melinda who had taken her to the black market.
But so many unexpected things have happened in this lifetime.
Perhaps today was yet another twist of fate.
Arielle signaled to the nearby operative, indicating the target had appeared and to keep a close watch.
The operative in the shadows acknowledged with an OK sign.
Arielle's eyes remained fixed on the entrance.
She had operatives stationed at every exit of the villa.
She wasn't concerned they might slip out another way.
By now, the servants had bathed Eve and dressed her in clean clothes.
The man sent to retrieve her went by the alias Seven.
He didn't so much as blink at the terrified, helpless little girl.
With a flick of his right hand, his two men stepped forward and hauled Eve away.
Her wrists and ankles were still shackled with iron chains.
When the strangers came to drag her away, Eve's small body trembled violently with fear.
She had no idea where they were taking her.
However, she had no means to resist.
She knew she couldn't escape.
She made no attempt to struggle, simply standing there, shaking with fear.
Seven, ever cautious, shoved Eve directly into a large white sack.
Then he punctured several small holes in the fabric to ensure adequate airflow.
