Emily reacted instantly, darting between them with possessive urgency.
She cooed, "She's just a scheming vixen, don't let her fool you!"
Georgie shot Emily a disgruntled look, his eyes clearly saying, "Enough talking."
Stopped by the man's glare, Emily stood rooted, glaring daggers at Arielle.
Arielle shot her a glare. "What are you staring at? Did I do something to you? You'd better back off, or I'll mess you up," she warned, drawing her thumb across her throat in a clear threat.
With that, she turned to leave.
Emily glared furiously at Arielle. "You little vixen!" she spat. "Think you can threaten me? You're part of the Bradford family, aren't you afraid I'll tell Sharon?"
With that, she lunged forward, grabbing for Arielle's hair.
Hair-pulling was the standard tactic when girls fought. It was simple, brutal, and effective.
Before Emily could even touch her, Arielle swung her right hand hard.
'Actions speak louder than words,' she thought coldly.
A sharp slap landed squarely on Emily's cheek.
Emily stood frozen, momentarily stunned by the slap.
Clutching her stinging right cheek, her eyes welled up with venomous hatred.
"Georgie... she..." Emily whimpered, clutching her stinging cheek as tears streamed down her face. Realizing she was no match for Arielle, she turned pleadingly to Georgie, silently begging him to stand up for her.
A wicked grin tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Most men would be furious if someone slapped their woman, but not him.
Instead, Arielle piqued his interest.
No woman had ever dared to challenge him like this before.
He felt thrilled and novel.
Emily saw the way Georgie was looking at Arielle.
In an instant, it all clicked. "That little bitch!" she seethed, her hatred for Arielle burning even hotter.
Emily fumed. 'All men are pigs. They chase after every skirt. The moment they see someone prettier than me, their hearts are stolen!
'That bitch is a walking disaster.
'Meredith was right, she's not just scheming, she's Oscar-worthy.
'Look how she's got Georgie eating out of her hand!'
Georgie shook off her hand and strode straight up to Arielle. With a casual flick of his fingers, he sent his cigarette butt tumbling to the ground.
Tilting his chin up slightly, his eyes brimming with mischief, he extended his hand with exaggerated courtesy.
"Georgie Tate. Pleasure to make your acquaintance," he said.
Arielle froze. "Georgie Tate?"
She thought, 'No way, this sketchy-looking redhead is actually Georgie Tate?'
To confirm her suspicion, Arielle asked bluntly, "You're not from Haskium? Are you from Konis?"
Georgie studied her with amusement, nodded with a smirk, and said, "Wow, not just a pretty face, you're quite well-informed."
Seeing Arielle remain silent, Georgie lifted his chin, a smug look on his face as he spoke again. "That's right. I'm Georgie from the Tate family of Konis."
For centuries, Haskium had tried to dismantle Konis, but despite a hundred years of effort, this small region had never been conquered.
Backed by formidable forces, the intricate web of allegiances and relationships here made things exceedingly complex.
The Tate family was the foremost noble family in Konis, and as the youngest son of Lesley Tate, his privileged status was unquestioned.
On top of that, his maternal family was second only to the Tate family in power.
So in Konis, he virtually ruled with an iron fist.
Originally, Konis was part of Haskium's territory.
But about a century ago, a powerful clan emerged in Konis, attempting to overthrow Haskium's rule and declare independence.
In the end, they succeeded.
Konis became a major threat to Haskium. The Tate family now reigned supreme.
Today, Konis was recognized by other powers as a sovereign state.
Haskium citizens must now go through lengthy bureaucratic procedures to enter Konis.
A man like him was practically a crown prince in Konis. He couldn't care less about Haskium, let alone the insignificant Arielle standing right in front of him.
To Georgie, Arielle's beauty was utterly captivating. In all his years, whether in Konis or Haskium, he had never laid eyes on such a breathtaking woman.
