I ran my hand through my hair. "Look I don't know if there is going to be a war but in case there is one we have to be prepared. Any more questions?"
A girl with a pigtails and around the age of 5 raised her hand. "What do you want to ask sweetheart?" I asked kindly. She motioned me over. I made my way to her and people moved so I could get to her. I bent down to listen. "Is Alpha Jared going to die?" She whispered quietly. I gulped and rose to my feet.
"I forgot to mention Alpha Jared's status so I will now. He is in a coma and the doctor doesn't know when he will wake up. I promise you that I will find whoever did this and make them pay for it," a tear silently fell from my left eye. Some pack members turned away to let me have a minute. I smiled through my pain and spoke.
"I know some of guys haven't gotten the memo so let me formally introduce myself. I am Jenna Summers, sister of Alpha Jared, Beta of the White Stone Pack, and now your temporary Alpha."
About more than half of the pack had their jaws dropped and the others were just frozen.
"Jenna!" A male voice yelled. I turned around and saw a pack warrior running to me. By the time he got to me he was panting. Yup, this pack needs some serious help.
"What?"
"Pack....under attack.....hunters......east," he gasped out in between breaths.
My eyes hardened and I turned around and started to bark out orders.
"All the women take your children and go to the basement! All the warriors and males follow me!"
Everyone went to where they were supposed to and the others followed me. I couldn't shift so I ran and I could feel the confused stares of everyone. I ignored them and pushed my legs to go faster.
Everyone else had shifted and they started to trail behind them. I was incredibly fast for a werewolf and I knew that they were going to start question that. By the time we reached the East side of the pack territory, some werewolves were fighting but they already were out of breath and exhaustion was getting to them.
Nearly about 20 hunters were spread around and about 2 wolves were sprawled dead on the grass. My anger was fueled and I commanded everyone to attack.
I went straight to the leader and he knew obviously why I came to him because he smirked at me. I growled and stopped running when I stood in front of him.
"Get out of my territory," I growled menacingly.
"Tsk. Tsk. I'm afraid you just don't get it. You wolves are just filthy animals which shouldn't have ever been created in the first place," he chuckled darkly.
My eye twitched and stepped closer. "I'm not scared of you. You are just another one of the people who are used to die by werewolves so your main boss can know how weak you are," I spat at him.
His face turned beat red and next thing I know, I feel my face turn to the side.
I smiled and turned my head back around to face him. "You call that a slap?" I laughed.
The man didn't waste another minute and lunged for me. I quickly dodged it just in time since he had at some point taken out a knife coated in Wolfsbane.
"I don't want to fight, Jenna. I just came here to give you a preview of the war that will happen sooner than you think."
How the hell did he know my name? Crystal?
'I don't know. He is up to something though,' Crystal responded back with a suspicious tone.
"Who was the one who hurt my brother?" I spoke through my clenched jaw.
"Oh Jared? What a pathetic loser. He jumped in front of a mere child just so the kid wouldn't get stabbed. After that, I stabbed him once more. It was quite fun actually," the man looked dazed as if he was remembering the moment. I felt disgust and the need to throw up.
"You are disgusting," I sneered before throwing a kick that had him double over in pain. I kneed him in the stomach and he grunted in pain. Just as I lifted my fist, he tackled me from my waist. We both tumbled down on the floor and struggled one another to get a punch or stab in.
I was able to get a couple punches in him and he somehow sliced my skin with his knife which had me hissing in pain.
"You are going to pay for hurting my brother." I pushed him off of me and he flew back onto the ground. I ran to him and lifted him up with a hand. Smashing him back on the ground, I raised my fist and sent it straight onto the crook of his nose, breaking immediately.
A loud snap sounded and he yelped in pain. I raised him up and threw him again a tree. His back hit it and he stood up with blood staining his entire face. "S-stop," he begged.
"You didn't seem to stop when you hurt my brother," I retorted. His eyes widened and he took a step back. What?
