"What do you mean you woke up next to Jennifer.... naked?" Jeremiah asked as we sat in a restaurant for lunch.  I could barely wrap my head around the idea of what happened and from the looks of him, he was feeling the same thing.  "Like... naked naked or just... naked."
"What hell does that even mean?" I asked.
At this point we're both drinking beers and stuffing ourselves silly with fries. What's sad is... it's only nine-thirty in the morning.
"Are we talking about the same Jennifer?"
"Jennifer Costa," I rubbed my eyes, "the shady prosecutor for family court. The one with pixie brown hair... the woman that had been trying to get into my pants for a year now!"
"Guess her trying paid off," I almost smacked the shit out of him for that, "but in all seriousness... do you really think... you fucked?"
Hanging my head, I mumble, "I have no idea.... I woke up like that... what else would come into your head?"
"I work with individuals who think cutting skin during sex is thrilling... do not ask for my opinion," he said. We both ended up chugging another glass. For the past how many years, I've been dedicated to my work. I have yet taken a day off since we adopted the children.... however, I feel myself dying for a month long vacation. "Maybe you're over thinking this?" He leaned forward, clasping my hand with his, "Maybe nothing happened? Maybe you tripped and had a tumble... you split some shit on yourself and stripped due to the alcohol... then passed out."
"Or I threw my marriage and family down the drain for a selfish lunatic who doesn't understand I hate her," I muttered.
Suddenly Jeremiah slapped my head, "Antonia... woman the fuck up. You don't know what the fuck happened and yeah... you lied to Cassidy, however, you just made time for yourself to figure out what happened. Stop wallowing in self-pity and anger, get your large as fuck pile of work done, and go home to your wife and kids. When you got free time away from everything, look into it... but for right now, you gotta focus on the things and people who matter... not fucking Jennifer Costa." Nodding, I agree with him. It was a minor inconvenience... I can fix this.
If I could fix the fucked up past we faced, I can fix this.

It was around eleven PM when I was finally done with my work. Shutting my office door and heading over to elevator, I called Cassie, "Hey."
"Hey baby," her voice sounded heavy, a little dazed. She was asleep.
"I'm heading home now. Did you tell Jaelynn I was sorry?" I got into the elevator and clicked for the main floor. As the doors begun to shut, a hand slid in. "Fuck," I mumbled.
"What's wrong?" Cassie asked.
"Nothing honey," I watched as she came in, a smile on her disgusting face, "uh.. how were the kids?"
"Well, the twins won their game! Jackob was angry that he didn't score the last point, but Jessika told him to grow up. She's becoming more and more like you I swear. Today she was reminding me of all the groceries we needed, why we needed them, and what aisle to find them!" She giggled.
"That's my girl," I whispered. Suddenly I felt Jennifer come closer. I cleared my throat, "I should be home in about twenty minutes... as long as traffic isn't a bitch."
"Okay, I'll go unlock the door."
"No," I said, rubbing my eyes, "we live in a city again Cassie... we can't go leaving our doors unlocked."
"Oh... yeah sorry... I forget."
"It's fine love," I smiled a little, "did you take your meds?" A hand slid on my back, making me straighten.
"I didn't... let me go do that."
"I'll see you soon," I gritted out, "I love you."
"I love you!" I quickly hung up the phone and shoved Jennifer away. Her laughed reminded me of a witch. Loud and squeaky. Putting my phone into my back pocket, I glared at her, "I can report you for sexual harassment."
"Really Ani?" Her grin made me sick.
Getting a bit closer, in a threatening voice I said, "Don't you ever call me that again. My fucking name is Antonia Meryl and you will ONLY address me as that."
"I don't see you correcting Jeremiah," she stuck her tongue out a little.
"Because Jeremiah isn't some selfish, disgusting piece of shit for a human," I gritted out.
She pouted playfully, making my blood boil, "How rude of you Antonia... calling me that right after the night we shared." That set me off. I was about to grab her collar and shove against the wall when the doors opened up. Instead, I walked out the door and looked back at her.
"Leave me the fuck alone," and I headed for my car.
