                    Ani POV
"We're home!" I heard the twins shouting as they rushed through the door. I went through the maze of boxes to greet them.
"How was school?" I asked, watching Jakob and Jessika try to squeeze on by. After the incident with Jennifer about a month ago, I resigned from the company and decided to move houses. Now I live closer to the twins school, so they just walk home. Inside of five bedrooms there are three, and only two bathrooms now.
"It was fine," Jakob said. When it came to questions about school, Jakob was the one to answer. Jessika didn't like to talk about school... she didn't like to be reminded of anything I believe.
I was becoming concerned.
"You two have a game tonight, right?" I asked, "Do you wanna just get a bite to eat or eat Mac and Cheese?"
"Can we get sushi after the game?" Jessika asked.
I nodded, "I'm up for that. Wanna invite Jaelynn and mama?" The two glanced between one another, unsure. Though it's been a month... my relationships with Cassie and Jaelynn have been constant... shit. Cassie is busy with her work and Jaelynn is bouncing between work, school, and Peter.
While I stay at home, trying to unpack and figure out what I'm doing.
"I doubt they will decline," I said, watching them relax a little.
"But will you feel okay?" Jakob asked.
I just smiled, "I love them... I'd be happy to celebrate with them.

Jessika POV
I still wasn't used to mom and mama being separated. Every time I asked mama about her relationship with mom... all she would say is 'we're figuring it out right now'. But to me... it seems as if both of them are done.
Mom moved into a new home... one that is smaller and easier for her to manage... mama didn't even know until Jakob and I mentioned packing. Mama was promoted at work recently. Aunt Shelby opened up another location for her studio, so mama runs the current studio while aunt Shelby is running the new location. Mama is busier, but she always makes time for Jakob and I... she even catches breakfast with Jaelynn on Sundays.
However... the last time I saw mama and mom near each other was at the hospital... they're both living two different lives.
Unaware of how the other is doing.
I was stretching on the sidelines with a few other teammates and Jakob while spectators came piling in. "I think we should consider doing drill-" "Jakob!" I was interrupted by some screaming blonde from the rail.
She was pretty... kinda looked like mama if I'm being honest. Blondie that's short and hyper. The only difference is the eyes. Her's are more green than blue.
Jakob stood up abruptly and ran over to her. Curious I tagged along a little, keeping close enough to hear. "I didn't think you were going to come," he said, glancing back at me a little. I narrowed my eyes at him as he looked back at the blondie, "Thanks for coming."
"I'm excited to watch!" She said, smiling all weird. She then looks at me and waves, "Hi Jessika!"
I was taken aback, but walked over to stand beside Jakob, "Hi?"
"I'm Genesis. We've met a couple of times I think," she said, a bit quieter this time.
I finally recognized who she was. The quiet girl that hung out with those bitches. Frowning, I muttered, "Yeah... I remember."
She looked down at the floor while Jakob jumped in, "We have to go practice... talk to you a little later?" I glanced over at him, seeing him stare at her... with that stare...
My blood began to boil.
Instantly I turned around and rushed back to the field. That look... why the fuck is he looking at her like that? What is he hiding? I immediately clapped my hands and shouted, "Let's go through drills!" And making sure he could pull me aside to talk, I got into position.
When halftime came around, I immediately drowned myself with water. It was 2 to 1... which made me nervous. My coach was screaming off his head as I zoned out... trying to think of things to do. Going through all our plays, ideas, and strategies - I try to find the best method.
Jakob nudged my shoulder, "Double Twin?" He was wiping his face with a towel, breathing like crazy. His and I's faces were beat red... our hair a mess.
I nodded, "Sure but you take 2nd."
"Deal," he said. We were about to do our handshake when Genesis cheered.
"Go Jakob! Let's go!" She was shouting all happily... big smiles and red noses.
I ripped my hand away from him, hearing him mutter, "Jessika-" "Just make sure you're in position... I won't wait for you," I placed my water down and went out to play again.
At the start, we followed the basic rules. Doing what our coach told us to do. Our defense was getting tired, so I stepped it up. I ran faster, breathed lighter, and played more...
But my thoughts ran wild.
'She's only good at sports... that's it.'
'I feel bad for her brother... I'd hate to have a dumbass for a twin.'
'She's probably like her parents... a taco muncher.'
I went to kick the ball out between a players feet but ended up kicking the player... the sound of the whistle broke and I got up cussing under my breath.
"Mistakes happen!" Jakob called out, but I just brushed him off.
'These grades are unacceptable Jessika. If you're struggling so much, you should have asked Jaelynn, Jakob, or I for help... You know better.'
'Mom wanted me to tell you two good luck tonight at your game! Oh... Jakob, your mom says good job on your chemistry test!'
'I don't understand why you just can't get it Jessika... Jakob was able to get it the first time I told him... maybe ask mom... maybe even mama can help you. I have college work to do, I can't waste time on teaching you anymore.'
I sent the ball towards the net, but like an idiot, I kicked it too high and it flew over. The whistle is blown again and I'm livid now. I quietly bite down on my lip as I run back to defend. Again Jakob runs by me, "You'll get it next time!"
Keeping quiet I run even faster.
Mistake after mistake... I felt like the big idiot. A timeout was called and coach railed into me, "What the heck Jessika? What's going on with you? You're bringing the team down! If you continue, I will pull you out of the game, got it? Get your head out of your butt and play like you always do."
"Fine," I huffed, going over to my water bottle.
Jakob came up behind me, "Jessi... Genesis and I-" "I don't wanna hear about it," I slammed my bottle down, "I don't give a fuck who you're locking lips with or what you do in your personal life... if you didn't find it necessary to tell me then there is no reason to explain now."
"Jessi," he said, but I again interrupted.
"We're in the middle of a game Jakob... leave the personal shit off the field... just do what we planned and let's not talk about it anymore," I said, running back out there.
Once the ball was in motion, our plan was executed. Jakob stole the ball then passed it to me. Running up the sidelines, I dodged the other team and got as far as I could. Cutting into the middle, I pretended to aim and kick the ball to the middle. Once the goalie put their attention onto me, I sent the ball to Jakob on the upper right side and he sent the ball into the net.
The crowd erupted into cheers and all I could hear was Jakob's name being chanted;
'Jakob! Jakob! Jakob...'
When the timer went out, my team celebrated our win. I on the other hand grabbed my shit and went off the field. As I was marching to the car, I could hear the coach cheering for Jakob... along with everyone else. Mom's car was always unlocked, so I just jumped in and curled up into a ball. It was take a good twenty minutes before everyone headed to their cars, so I just let my emotions flow.
Crying, I whisper, "I'm never good enough... everyone lies to me... everyone."
