Ani POV
"So why can't we go?" Jessika asked, following me around as I was getting ready for dinner with Cassie.  I was still in a towel while my hair and makeup were done... yes... I was wearing makeup.  It had been years since I've put on a red lip.
"Because it's just mama and I," I said, going into my closet, "I'm getting naked, so unless you want to see my boobs - don't come in."
"Ew," I heard her mutter, making me chuckle, "but why is it just you and mama?  Whenever you and mama go out to eat, we all do."
"Because mama and I are going on a date," I said, opening the door.  Jessika went wide-eyed, shocked at my outfit.
I had on a white laced up v-neck Corset with black leather skinny jeans.  At first I couldn't tell why she was so shocked, but as I looked down, I sorta understood.  The v-neck was low... very low.
Jessika spins around, "What are you wearing!"
Surprised by her shyness, I said, "What?  Am I too old to be wearing sexy outfits?"
Jessika kept her back to me, making me laugh a little.  I finished the outfit with a simple white stiletto when we heard Cassie yelling downstairs, "I'm here!"
Jessika booked it out of my room as I grabbed a small black purse and headed down.  When I got down there, Jessika was even redder and hysterical, "What is up with my moms today!"  Looking over the rails, I stopped in my tracks.
Cassie was wearing a black and white checkered two piece suit.  Her shirt was a mesh see-through top that clung to her shape.  The jacket pinched in the middle, emphasizing her small waist and her pants were high waisted and skin tight... making it seem as if she had legs are day.  Then to top it all off she wore a simple black heel.  Her hair was left alone - having it be wavy and all over the place.  Her blue eyes shook you to your bones.
Speechless.
Absolutely speechless.
She came over to the stairs, making sure I could see her entire body... even strutting a little.  I looked her up and down as I slowly went down the steps.  Our eyes connected after the both of us got done peeking.  Her smirk was drawing me in due to her nude lipstick, "Like what you see?"
Smirking back, "I just remembered why I love women."
When I got to the final step, Cassie stepped forward and lightly placed her fingertips on the hem of my v-neck.  Trailing down it, she stopped at the end of it... which was right in the middle of my cleavage, "I thought we were going out for dinner?"
I was going to comeback with a very naughty joke when Jaelynn cleared her throat, "I'm all about showing love and being affectionate... but I draw the line when it comes to my parents fucking."  We both chuckled and kissed the twins on the head... well, Cassie kissed them.  I waved... not sure if they're ready for that affection yet.
"I left where we're going to be on the fridge," I told Jaelynn, grabbing my keys from the hook, "I don't care what you feed the kids or when they go to bed, do what you see fit.  All I ask is one thing."
"What?" She stared at me, obviously annoyed.
Smiling as Cassie walked out the door, "Don't call either of us.... I'm dead serious."
Jessika glanced over to me, "What if there is an emergency?"
"Then you better be dying," I said, "if not, don't fucking call."
Then I shut the door.
~
"Are we at the right place?" Cassie asked as I opened up her door.  Holding out my hand to help her, she stared at the dark building, "Doesn't seem to be open."
"Just follow me," I said, guiding her to the door.  I knocked twice and waited a bit.
She held back a laugh, "Antonia... what are you doing?"
"Just wait."
"No one is here," she gestured to the windows.
"Just wait."
"Are you sure you put the address in correctly?" She asked.  Glancing down at my phone, she said, "No one is coming."
Then the door popped open.
Taking a couple steps back, Jamie came out with a tux, "Sorry to keep you waiting ladies.  Mrs. Antonia Meryl?"
"Yes," I said, "reservation for two."
"Follow me," he said, opening the door for us.  Inside the room was dimly lit by candles and the tables were covered with white tablecloths.  We followed the young man yep the steps to a room with a stage and table.  On the stage was a small band and on the table was a rose.  "Here you are ma'am's," he said, pulling out both of our chairs.  Cassie had me sit first and pushed me in, then the waiter helped her.  "I'll be back to get your orders," he said, leaving down the stairs.
Cassie looked around, nodding her head.  I smiled with pride.  "Okay... I'm sorry I doubted you," she said.
"Thank you," I wiggled a little as she giggled.  Leaning forward a little, I lifted three fingers, "During this dinner we cannot talk about three things."
"Which are?"
"The kids," I said, having her sigh, "our issues, and future steps."
"'Future steps'?" She asked.
"How we plan to fix our marriage," I said.
"Wouldn't that be under 'our issues'?" She teased.
"Okay," I rolled my eyes playfully - both of us chuckling.
I watched as she looked over the menu. She always made these faces. Pushing out her lips until they touched the entrance of her nose, sucking in her cheeks to make fish lips, or squinting her eyes while she bites her bottom lip. Amusing it was.
"I'm not a menu," she said, glancing up.
Leaning back, I fixed my hair as I said, "Depends on what I call a 'dinner'."
She grinned, "I didn't know you were an exhibitionist." I spit up my water. Cassie laughed at me choking, covering her hand over her mouth.
I just watched her laugh. Her golden strands falling all around her... making it seem as if light was cascading all over her. The smile she wore melted me inside, along with the sweet sound of it.
I didn't give a damn about the food or music... I just enjoyed seeing Cassie... Cassidy Meryl.
~
Walking around the town at night was interesting. Couples were out in full force and the bars packed. Since it was a little chilly, Cassidy had taken my hand into hers and placed it in her pocket. I shook my head at her, but she just smiled.
The moon was covered by the night clouds, making it look haunted. To many that's a bad sign... but to me... it reminded me of the times Cassidy would come to my house on Halloween to watch scary movies.
We passed some antique store which provoked Cassidy's interest, "These places are funny, don't you think?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Inside is someone's story... their life and it's just put on display, waiting to be purchased. It's funny because these people's lives live on forever... but as someone else's life," she was proud of her words... though I had no idea what she meant.
But I felt the same pride.
She looked over to me and we both just stared at one another. We both had no idea what time it was. It could be five in the morning for all we know.... We were just two people getting lost in the moments... not thinking or caring about anything else.
She hopped in front of me, startling me a bit, "So... when do you begin work at the children's hospital?"
"On Wednesday," I said.
"Do you already know who you're taking care of?" She asked.
"Of course. I have them all memorized and ready to go," I said, reaching my free hand out to fix a stranded hair, but as I reached for her face... I stopped. Why do I need to fix it? Why can't I just let it be... let it flourish and live. So I placed my hand back in my pocket and smiled at the strand, "I'm excited."
"Good," she scooted closer to me, putting her face onto the top of my chest - near me neck. We stayed like that for a little.
"Do you like being a dance instructor?" I asked.
"The twins told you?"
"Of course," I chuckled, "Jessika isn't the greatest at hiding things when it comes to you."
"Remind me to not tell her what your present is going to be for Christmas," she joked, but all I heard is... we're celebrating Christmas together. "I teach all age groups. It was surprising to see how many adults and older want to learn how to dance," she said.
"Well, it's not just for fun. It's great exercise," I said, "I always knew you'd be a teacher... not sure what subject though."
"English?" She moved her head back to look up at me.
"You failed at the time writings!"
"I beat you in an essay before!"
"In middle school!"
