I tore off the blindfold to find Ethan looming over me, his face contorted with raw hunger.
"HELP!"
His palm crushed my scream against my lips. "Shut up," he growled, hips driving relentlessly. "That wall camera's rolling. Unless you want the whole internet seeing how wet you get for me, stay fucking still."
Hot tears spilled as I sank my teeth into his flesh.
"You little—" He reared back to hit me—
BANG BANG BANG!
The door shook under frantic pounding.
"Dr. Holloway? There's a gentleman here insisting he's Ms. Watson's boyfriend. We need to come in."
Ethan went rigid.
For one glorious second, hope flared in my chest.
His eyes turned murderous as they locked onto mine. "You lying little slut. You brought backup?"
Before I could respond, another barrage of knocks rattled the door.
Ethan scrambled off me, yanking up his pants with one hand while his other gripped my chin. "Fix yourself. And choose your next words very carefully."
I shoved away from him, frantically smoothing my crumpled clothes.
"Why isn't this door opening? Someone get a key!" Liam's voice turned dangerous outside.
Ethan shoved a tissue at me, then roughly wiped my tears himself before hissing in my ear: "Your precious Liam expects perfection. Imagine his face when he learns what just happened in here."
The threat hit like a gut punch.
He was right—the thought of Liam knowing made me physically ill.
Choking back sobs, I nodded desperately, patting down my hair and wiping my smudged makeup.
"Last warning—open this goddamn door!"
The lock clicked.
Liam Sinclair exploded into the room.
His gaze raked over me first—shoulders sagging when he saw no visible harm—before narrowing at Ethan behind me.
"Since when do consultations require locked doors and examination beds?"
Ethan's smile was all professional calm. "Standard privacy protocol. Some procedures require supine positioning."
I nearly choked when he didn't mention the cosmetic surgery cover story. The lie sat like acid in my throat.
Liam turned to me. "Sweetheart? What kind of doctor's visit needs this setup?"
Ethan's smirk burned into my back.
This monster.
He knew I'd choke on the truth.
Balling my shaking hands, I whispered, "Just... nose reshaping."
It wasn't completely far-fetched—I'd always doodled anime girls with those tiny upturned noses in my sketchbooks.
"Baby, no." Liam cradled my face. "You're gorgeous exactly as you are."
"Yeah." The word tasted like ash.
After a terse nod at Ethan, Liam guided me out.
Outside, I croaked, "How'd you find me?"
"Saw you sneaking out after my grocery run. Thought you were meeting someone, so I tailed you. When I saw the clinic sign, I figured I'd wait to walk home together. Then you took forever..." His grip tightened. "I panicked."
My breath came in shallow bursts.
The entire walk home, I moved like a ghost.
Back at our apartment, a sudden dehydration hit me. I drained a water glass in one go before face-planting onto the couch, barely hearing Liam's concerned questions before darkness took me.
I woke hours later desperate for the bathroom—to find Liam watching me with stormcloud eyes.
