The blinding flash of cameras hit them instead of the brawl they'd expected.
Dylan and his two lackeys froze as the rapid shutter clicks surrounded them. A chorus of girls screamed in panic.
"Assault!"
Realizing they'd been set up, Dylan and his crew bolted for the stairs—only to find the poolside girls replaced by hulking security guards.
Fists flew, leaving their faces battered and swollen.
Now, the charge of attempted rape was undeniable.
They knew they'd walked right into my trap.
But I didn't give a damn if they held a grudge. Sooner or later, we were going to collide anyway.
Two days later, I met their families at the agreed location.
Alone.
Among them were power players—business tycoons, high-ranking officials.
Dylan's father was the most arrogant. Instead of an apology, he jabbed a finger in my face. "Ethan Lawrence, you framed my son! You got a death wish?"
I smirked, ice in my voice. "Is that a threat?"
"Damn straight it is!" he barked.
Rage burned through me. I slammed my palms on the table, rattling the teacups. "Six years ago, Dylan, Tyler, and Brandon tried to rape my homeroom teacher, Sophia Valentine. She jumped because of them. Remember that?"
Dylan's father went pale. "How the hell do you know about that? Only those three and Sophia were involved—and she's dead! Who told you?"
Tyler's father exploded. "You're lying! My son never touched that woman! I'll sue you for slander!"
Brandon's father went further, slamming the table. "I'll have you arrested right now! You're not walking out of here!"
Their panic was all the confirmation I needed.
My confidence surged.
"Bullshit!" I smashed the table again, dishes clattering.
Just like that, silence.
This was my play—overwhelm them with sheer aggression.
I leaned in. "Sophia Valentine never died. She's alive. And if she testifies, your sons will rot in prison."
The room went dead.
"That's impossible! She died that night!"
"No way, she's gone!"
Brandon's father snapped out of it first, glaring at the others. "Don't fall for this! He's just shaking us down!"
I nearly laughed.
Exactly the reaction Isabella and I had predicted.
"You don't believe me? Fine." I gestured to the side door. "Let her tell you herself."
Isabella Roland stepped in, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
The moment she appeared—everyone in the room turned to stone.
Except me.
