                    ALASTOR MORNINGSTAR
"I'm so proud of you, Darling." I whisper in Apollo's ear, noting his state of barely being conscious.
He grumbles something indecipherable before moving his head the other side. His arms still wrapped around my torso as he lays on me half a sleep.
"Shut up Alastor, the unicorns are racing!" He whisper... he scolds, Apollo scolds me, deep in dream. One apparently of unicorns racing.
"Which one do you think will win?" I entertain, fully aware with the fact he won't remember any of this.
"Mmmmm... probably the hotdog one" he mumbles.
A chuckle rubbles in my stomach, causing him to shake a bit. Only Apollo would dream about hot dog unicorns winning races.
"Darling?"
"Yes?" He groans, his unconscious self tired of my shit.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
My heart stops, throws itself against my rib cage, strangles itself with my veins, stops beating, starts beating rapidly, sinks to my feet, rocket to my head, feels like it might pop out of my ass.
He said he loves me. His unconscious self said that he loves me. He loves me. Even while in deep undisturbed sleep and peace he loves me. A drop of golden rain falling in love with a whisper of the bloody underworld. And we're made for each other.
"You know what?" Isabella asks the table.
"What?" I reply, ready to have whatever announcement she will declare over and done with.
"I am starting my own cupcake shop."
Apollo stays quiet, although he might be too polite to say anything, his face definitely isn't. He looks pitiful, and a little amused.
"And who do you plan to actually bake said cupcakes?" I ask, wanting to make sure my sister knows what she's getting herself into.
"You."
My sister does not in fact know what she's getting herself into.
"When did I agree to do that?" I ask, skeptical on my sister's plan.
"Mmmm now?"
"No"
"Alastorrr" she starts whining.
"Isa I'm sorry but I have a company to run, I can't be sitting in a bakery baking cakes." I tell her, half of me genuinely sorry. I love my sister, I'd do anything to make her happy or for her well being. However I do have a company to run and I do have bills to pay... for all of them.
"Alastor pretty please? I promise I'll never cook for you again." She begs, holding her hands together as she looks at me with puppy eyes.
Apollo's are much more affective.
"No. But I can teach you how to bake properly?"
"No. I don't want anything from you." She stubbornly says, putting her emotional mask on.
For Isabella it's either getting what she wants or getting nothing at all. Not that we don't offer her the medium. Although whenever she chooses the nothing at all option she becomes this Independent Super Woman.
I sneak my hand on Apollo's knee softly rubbing it in circles. His hand falls on top of mine, doing the same motion with his thumb.
"Actually, can you help?" Isa directs to Apollo.
He blushes furiously softly shaking his head with remorse. "Sorry but I barely know how to cook pasta without burning water."
"Water can't burn silly!" Damon giggles.
"It's a figure of speech cariño, he just means he's really bad at cooking." Mom explains.
"Okay!" He stuffs his face with more food before hoping down from his seat. He waddles over to me, making grabby hands for me. I pick him up effortlessly, setting him on my lap sideways so he can also see Apollo. "I have an idea" he whispers as if it's a secret.
"What idea?" Apollo whispers back intrigued, his finger lightly pokes Damon's cheek causing him to giggle some more.
"What if Alastor teaches you how to cook?!" His whispering is long gone, instead getting replaced by a loud high pitched excited voice.
"I don't think so, plus he already cooks for me so I have no reason to learn."
Damon gasp snapping his head at me in shock. You barely ever cook for us!"
"Maybe if you get me some water I will?" I bargained.
He shook his head defiantly, pouring and scowling as he crossed his arms. "Forget it." He hopped off my lap climbing back into his own seat.
