FLASHBACK
APOLLO CHEVALIER
I Love you y
And if it's quite alright I need you baby
To warm these lonely nights
I love you y
Trust in me when I say...
Plays in the background as the fire lights up the living room from the fireplace.
Everything is warm and caring on Valentine's Day.
"I love you so much." Mom whispers to her new boyfriend of the week.
"I love you too Sugar" the stranger announces.
I poke my head in further in the living room, ignoring Mom's strict directions to not come down no matter what.
The intense feeling to sneeze overcomes my senses as I try to stop it. I'm not supposed to be here. If she hears me she'll get mad.
I reach for the stairs only to be taken by the sneeze and falling on my butt. Dread fills my veins as I hear heavy footsteps approach.
"Whoever you are come out!" The man threatens, shouting.
I get up and brush myself off before slowly entering his vision with my hands raised in surrender.
His jaw drops as he turns angrily at my mother. "Who's the bastard?!" He shouts at her.
He shouted at my mother.
He lifts his hand, prepared to strike my mother. Fury overpowers me as it turns into blind rage, the lasers from my eyes reach his arm as they burn it off, my super strength not going unnoticed while I punch him into the wall.
"Don't lay a hand on her you creep!" I shout, my voice not sounding like my own as I start dragging him and his arm up with me in the air and throw him out of the house.
Suddenly I feel a harsh slap against my face as I watch him run for his life. The slap makes the red light in my eyes go away as I stare at my furious mother.
"God you ruin everything! I'm alone all because of you and your bastard father! God why can't you do anything right! You worthless" slap "peace" slap "of shit" a strong kick to my stomach that sends me hauling back as I spit blood from my mouth.
"Get out of my sight!"
